I can’t believe how much happens within this battle. Hollow and charron battling then 4 bar trade off freestyle, to a surprise battle of illmac and the return of Jin, to soul khan popping out with the file. Holy shit.
Honestly, this is what made me decide to buy the ppv, a day after it aired live. I heard that Jin came back to battle Illmac during Charon vs Hollow, and Soul Khan even handed the files to Jin. As soon as I heard these events happend, I hopped online and bought the ppv.
Yeah but that’s the easy part. You can tell that he cares about the picture being painted while you do it. Most people sacrifice the content for the rhyme or the rhyme for the content. The greatest don’t sacrifice either. And that’s what battle rap always had over regular rap to me. Because you can change the cadence a lil bit. But he’s def one of the top in battle rap to me.
Man I would’ve shed tears if I was there. This was BEAUTIFUL! The community appreciates the entire KOTD brand and every battler that performed and showed up. RIP PAT STAY FOREVER Sucker Free!

He still had a good first round, picking apart roc's over reliance on gun bars and a solid third (especially rebuttal wise). Off bars alone? I'd say that battle came down to personal preference. If we wanna talk about performance and aggression? Obviously, I'd give it to tay roc. That fact that charron did as well as he did and got tay roc in the first place is more what I'm getting at. He's battled his fair share of big names, and proved himself time and time again. Him and chef trez had a helluva battle. Charron is far from my favorite, but he's far from the worst too. 🤷🏿♂️

Some parts were flat, but other parts totally epitomized what freestyle rap battling is. Like when he rebutted ill mac saying he would knock Jin back in to freestyle Friday week 1... Then Jin came back with... If you battled me un freestyle Friday week 1..... you would be the weak one in Freestyle Friday week 1! I know it seems simple... But a quick counter hook can ba a Ko shot. When he said that it did transport back to that whole vibe and energy of freestyle battling. It was like a thunderbolt.
