I got fat bottom bushy girls, canopy is like a 8" thick 3'x3' foam table top going into flower. That's after I defoliated what I thought was a fair amount. I just topped the central stalks on all of them. I'm thinking I will ease into the weedscaping this grow, starting to see some mild (i hope) nutrient issues so going to just focus on that. This is my first indoor soil grow and between watering and nutrients, hydro was easy mode IMO.
It would be awesome if you did a video just like this but on deficiencies 🤯 it would literally save my life, as I can't seem to get it right and just looking at pics on the internet without an experienced growers input along side just doesn't work....... Thanks GT your the Man😎💪🌱
@@Dayandcounting Check out "grow dots" from real growers... Add them to your soil once in the very beginning and your nutrients are covered for the entire grow so all you gotta do is water 😉
@@joshstowe7737 Leaning towards Jack's 321. I want something that can be used with soil or hydro as there is decent chance I will switch to hydro. I will look into it though.
Hi GT, nice tutorial, just two things: 1. It's FIM (fimming) not FEM 2. When fimming (B) you do NOT take whole top-center, just upper 3/4 of it, if you'll take whole you just topped the plant as point C. I loved "sparta" approach :)
Love the channel but agreed. The 1st example is topping, not fimming. If it was fimming, you'd leave the 2 shoots to the side and cut most of the top one, not all of it though. You certainly wouldn't cut the whole thing though. Love ya GT.
Yeah he got me super confused with topping and the fimming part . If you were to top wouldn’t you just take that one specific node off so that way the 2 nodes bottom of the apical node would become 2 main branches now ? And another thing where I was confused is when he mentioned fimming , he said that you fim all 3 nodes isn’t that not correct ? I thought fimming is short for “ fuck I missed “ and it comes from trying to top a plant but you accidentally don’t take the whole apical node off so what actually ends up happening is the bottom growth of the plant actually try’s to become main branches and the apical node that you fimmed grows back again also , since you didn’t end up topping it . That’s what I always thought 🤷♂️ Either way I absolutely love that he’s doing these type of videos . He’s a great content creator , keep doing what your doing GT ! One love brotha
Thanks GT, this is the first I heard of Fem'ing a plant, until now I had assumed it was considering topping, no matter how much, or how little of the top of the plant you cut off. Using the whiteboard was a stroke of brilliance as it REALLY is far more helpful than just explaining it, at least for those of us new to growing, since as they say, I picture is worth a thousand words, but you gave us both words and pictures, all without falling afoul of the RUclips Stormtroopers
I just made a comment to TONE G last night, about how I was consentrating on how and when the top or FIM on my plants. Your awesome brother. Thank You so much
GT! This video has been the missing link in shaping my plant for veg, and I'm pretty sure it has been the missing link for many others as well. This was dope! Definitely liked the visual & interaction.
Just starting to see trichomes. Almost week four of flower. Doing everything the GT way and it’s looking great. Joining patreon was probably my best investment. Thanks GT. ✌🏻❤️
Love the drawing! A great explanation for this first time growers to understand the vocabulary of all the parts of my plant that I see all over the internet. Thank you
Thank you so much for this! I´m german and we are going to legalize growing. Now i try to prepare for it and this video is gold for a beginners understanding! Subscribed, liked, and saved to my growing playlist. So finally here´s my comment ⬅ Nice one, isn´t it? P.S. You need german subtitles for your videos in the future! Believe me ;)
Love your videos, but your example of fimming seems incorrect from my experience. You don’t cut the entire new growth from the top. You should cut about 75% of that new growth and leave a little U shape at the top. You will get 4-6 tops from that cut instead of the 2
That true! I think it kinda depends on if you want more smaller buds, or fewer bigger ones. I'd imagine you could interchange techniques depending on the general bud size of the strain.
I am never in a rush so I almost always start at the 6/7 node and fim it. That usually allows the bottom branches to catch up. Sometimes I fim the top 2x to allow the bottoms to catch up. I then just defoliate enough to make sure everything gets light. Then about 3 weeks before flower I put in a scrog net in and let it branch out before flipping.
Hey GT, I really love these type of videos where you draw plants and discuss what you would do for training! It helps dramatically for me! Just as another perspective. Much love to GT and Welcome to the Grow Tent!
I appreciate the simplicity u use explaining everything. So many people try to showcase their intellect so much it leaves new growers lost in the sauce . I try to rememberbjust because I may understand technical terminology all may not. Thank u for being consideration #cannamunty
Very intuitive and great explanations GT just beginning another run and I’ve learned so much and still am from you. Thanks for keeping it simple for all us newbies lol cheers from Canada buddy 🤙
Even as a rather decent, 5 year grower I found this very helpful...maybe not the actual info in the video as most of it wasn't new to me, but the form he did it in was what I find helpful !!!!!! PEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS ONE !!!!!! I find it helps to see videos with example images really make a difference plus making a game outta it where you can try n guess what you would do, and then getting not only the actual answer BUT Wayyy more importantly the ReaSOnS why !!
best explanation I've come across, and believe me I've put my study time in..lol..very detailed and very easily understood, u don't get much simpler than this..awesome as always GT!!
Well that was very helpfull and explains a few things for me, on my second grow in my tent, already seeing a difference and learned a few things for the next one and just learned a few things just now. Great job explaining all that thanks bud
Don't forget to root the cut off tops if you want clones. A clone can be pretty small and still strike roots. Great explanation GT. Plant training is really interesting. I bet you'd love bonsai trees if you got into them, you use a lot of similar techniques and concepts. A ficus from a box store is a great cheap way to try it out. They're tough trees. The bonsai nut forum is a great place to ask questions.

Love the work keep it up. You where only toping in the video just swapping between 1st and 2nd node. To fim you do what you call fem but clip the top 1/2 of the 2 side branches they will both split and have 4 branches all from the same node.
love this one thanks alot🤟🤟 had 3 small bad runs on my own. so got the mess ups out of the way. learned alot from ur vids.🤙 got some monsters hitting week 3 of veg. some Bdream and some big bud
I am a student. 19:00 the method of pinching the extra tall growth could be a problem I see indoors. If the leveled growth went ... Well into the wall that's not plausible. Is this why you would just super crop the whole top?
