Ginger Chicken is one of my favourite inks! It may be one of the first ink bottles I actually finish. 😱😍 I’ve also had a great experience with Ancient Copper. They look very similar to me, though I think GC is slightly more orange.
Congrats on almost finishing a bottle! That's a milestone for FP and ink lovers!
I LOOOVE reddish browns. I think Ginger chicken is beautiful & the best dupe for Ancient Cooper but definitely costs more. Thank you so much for the video!
Of course! Glad you enjoyed the video!
"accident cooper" cracked me up
@@amandak.4246 I didnt even notice that. 😂😂😂
I’ve just come across another similar ink to Diamine Ancient Copper that you may be interested in, Ferris Wheel Press ‘Steeped Umber’. Have a wonderful weekend Liane 😊
Very cool, I will have to check it out!!! It's hard to turn down a brown ink!
I love this colour family. The only ink out of these that I've tried is Ginger Chicken, and I love it so much.
Ginger Chicken may be the only ink you'll ever need/want in this color family! That's a good one. :)
Love all of these. I have Ancient copper inked up for the first time and I am absolutely loving it.
Thank you!
This video was helpful to me. Or at least, enabling. I have had Ancient Copper in my Pilot Decimo for a couple years years. I love the color, but my problem is that it is one of the worst for crusting on the outside of my nib. I have...many...pens inked up, so any one pen may be unused for a few weeks at a time. I am curious how similar colored inks would perform as to nib crusting. I just bought Dominant Industries Earl Grey Tea because, 1) people seemed to be raving, 2) it was on sale, 3) I love the name! I haven't compared it to Ancient Copper, and when I saw it in your line-up I thought I would regret the purchase (I try not to buy inks that are too similar to each other). By showing it as more orange, I was ink enabled. Well done! 👍😄
Thank you!
Diamine ancient copper is one of my favorite reddish-brown inks. Monteverde Fire Opal is lovely, too. But it is hard to see the difference between all of the inks samples.😅
Totally, the differences are so slight! I'm telling you, I do not need another bottle of ink in this color family. :)

I love the Earl Grey Tea and Ginger chicken by Dominant Industries! Yummy!
I'm with you on the sound of opening the Monteverde Ink bottles. I think it reminds me of years gone by when more things were bottled in glass with a metal lid. Love it!
Lisa
Yes, absolutely!
Liane, this is fantastic! This is one of my very favorite color families, and I have 5 of the 8 you showed. Earl Grey Tea has become my favorite orange, and Ginger Chicken is such a great pick as a dupe in this color family. I just have a sample of Ancient Copper, so I’m glad to know there is no need to replace it. You are correct, I could avoid purchasing more in this color family for years. I have cartridges of Fire Opal, and it’s a great way to have this color for my pocket pens. The lubrication works great in a Kaweco Sport.
Overall, I learned something here about the comparable inks, but you also reminded me how much I love orange, though it doesn’t take much. Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
Thanks, Casey!
Great selection of inks. If I were to get two of them, it would be the two Dominant Industry inks since that pair would provide a nice spread.
Those two are good choices!
This is good....Brown inks are my new exporation Direction with my fountain pens.
2:51 ....kinda reminds me of _Diamine_ *_Writers blood_* , a little bit ?
Maybe? I haven't done a side-by-side comparison but I should!
fantastic video, loved it all the way through ☺☺☺
Thanks so much!
Love Ginger Chicken! Can you find a dupe for Tuna and Olives? 🫒
I'll look at my collection and see if I can find some similar inks!
Great video. Diamine Ancient Copper is my number one favorite ink. I also like Diamine Vntage Copper, but have a tendency to steer away from it because of the shimmer. Agree about the kakamora nib writing so heavily that it's really not an accurate picture of how most of the inks actually perform.
I've been enjoying my exploration of Kobe Inks, and this comparison was very fun and helpful, Liane. Thank You!
Of course!
Beautiful inks! Dominant Industy's ginger chicken is a fun name. Thank you for sharing! Your swatching videos are always fun to watch. :) Looking forward to watching the flip through! :D
Thank you so much!
I love your ink videos so much- it feels very comprehensive to the point that I feel like I don’t have to buy inks based off of my preferences and how you described it. And I know it was soooo satisfying to complete a whole book!! Thanks for your detailed comparison🧡
Glad you like them!
apart from a permanent blue for work, i only use red-brown inks, so i really enjoyed this video. i have ancient copper inked up right now, but the pen writes so wet that it doesn't look reddish at all, pretty disappointing. montblanc red fox is also kinda similar to these, but it was limited edition, so when my bottle runs out, i won't be able to get it again 🥲
You're so lucky to have red fox, I have heard such lovely things about this ink!
I love these videos so much, Liane! I am supposed to be getting a sample of ginger chicken soon and I can't wait!!! Thanks for sharing!
Of course! Glad you enjoy my videos!
Definitely in the same camp with you on bottles of ink. Ancient Copper is on my shortlist of inks I am still on the fence, and likely a 30 ml candidate for me. Meanwhile, I will settle for Tsukushi which is more of a brown leaning with a shade of red.
Tsukushi is delightful, love it in my fine nibs...
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for making this video! I recently got pricked by the brownish-red / blood orangey nib, and you make a video just in time for me to add to my list of wanted ink samples. Thank you! Apart from the Ancient Copper, the Sailor #873 is super pretty. They're all beautiful! And I agree with you about the Earl Grey Tea, I was kind of a bit disappointed when I saw it for the first time because I was expecting more brown
Yeah, I was disappointed at first but now I'm happy that I have a beautiful orange ink!
My favorite reddish brown is Monteverde fire opal.
Yes, it's gorgeous...!
I love your taste in ink! Have you tried Sailor Yodaki? It's slightly more reddish than Ancient Copper, a stunning color and one of my favorites.
Oh, it sounds like a delightful color! I'll have to give it a try!
Ancient Cu-yes, gorgeous…but crustaceous too!
(These videos are really splendid-thanks!)
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, I wonder why this ink has that bit of crusty-ness?
I thought a dupe was supposed to be a cheaper lookalike of an exclusive or pricey brand. 😊 Beautiful dupes no matter what! My favourites of these swatches are Ancient Copper and Ginger Chicken. 🥰 I so enjoy swatch videos, so meditative and helpful when buying inks. 😇🩵🙏🙌
Thank you! I think you are right, dupes are technically cheaper alternatives for pricier products, so perhaps I'll have to consider changing the wording in future videos (because some of these inks are definitely not cheaper!!!).
I can't even get Ginger Chicken here in Europe. 🥺 But Diamine is easy to get hold of thankfully.
Love this ink exploration! Can I send you a sample of Lennon Tool Bar Woldberry to see how close it is to some of those? I was able to snag another bottle from Yoseka (supposed to be getting delivered today!!!!!!) but I want to see if it is close to any of the ones that may be a little easier to acquire.
Hi there, I already have Wolfberry! Yes, I'll take a look at my collection and see what inks I have that are similar. If I have enough, I'll definitely make a comparison video!
@@lianelikes awesome! I’ll look out for it!!
Wow, this was the closest dupes to each other that I’ve seen.
Thanks!
Do you feel like the Ancient Copper is like the Ginger Chicken?
I’ll have to take a look at the spread again and get back to you!
