"What yall are doing at fanward is amazing and there is nothing else like it. Thanks again for all you and the team do." - Kevin
I met her and Walter at an event when I was 11, and I will never forget that she knelt in front of my wheelchair, smiled......that smile....hugged me and held it for a solid minute and whispered "You are so more than this wheelchair." My gosh she has always been a light when I think of her....
This was nice to read. I hope you have had an amazing life and continue to do so.
I met Austin at a con, and he was awesome--treated me like a friend, didn't rush me and was happy to talk. Thuy would have loved meeting her fans too. That's the saddest part. I hope she knew how much she meant to all of us.
Your so lucky
In fact, there is a video where Thuy Trang appears talking to a fan on the phone and in the video she expresses the support and gratitude to her fans for their support and love for her. I have that video if you want, I can send you the link. Wherever she is Thuy Trang she knows she left a legacy and a beautiful unforgettable memory for all of us who are her fans I consider myself a loyal fan of Thuy Trang to the degree that since I was a child I was disappointed when she left the program never again I saw him again and now that I am an adult, he admired her much more, she was an honorable person and an excellent actress.
@@damarisdisner2347 Why don’t you just post it up?
can anyone explain to me? So the power ranger actors didn't act in any of the battle scenes in costume? They were all copy and pasted from super sentai? If so why did Austin St John said he needed to wear costume? To only film the transformation cutscene?
When he said "and I have had many" at 7:37 what does it mean?
Thuy was my first form of representation on television. First time is saw a Vietnamese women like myself portray one of the lead female roles. She was definitely a wonderful role model for myself growing up
Had to hold back the tears watching this.
RIP Thuy Trang ❤
@Pura Angela Rockwood lives Thuys best friend is continuing her greatness.

Aaliyah, Left Eye from TLC, and Thuy Trang all died around the same time. 3 legendary women taken from way too soon. RIP to all 3.
Damn I didn’t know they all passed around the same time. That’s a heavy thing to have to take in. Dang…
FACTS . I always hated that
Aaliyah and Left eye sold their souls tho.

Those 3 deaths are the ones that hurt the most. And don't even get me started on how 9/11 happened during that time too.

I can feel his pain. Thuy Trang was literally my first crush. I was a 5 year old kid and was so heart broken when I saw the tribute episode and found out about her death and watching this brings me back to that. She is the reason to this day I say my favorite color is yellow. RIP
Wow😢
Seriously? 😮
The goat for the female Rangers may she continue to rest n power
i want to meet your team power rangers mighty morphin
Yes I'm 32 I grew up watching the show one day I hear on the news about her she passed away when I got older it hit me I was she was the yellow rager I was in tears I wish she could of still been with us here today
Me too 😞
Me three! I miss her so much!
Me too. I'm also 32 but I heard about her so many, many years later. It's so sad I can't measure.
Same here
Seeing how hard hes holding back the tears, and how he always talks about so many positive things about thuy means he truly loved her as a friend and coworker. A little part of me thinks he also had a small crush on her which I wouldnt blame him for.
As a teenager, many guys were gushing over Kimberly, but me? I had a huge crush on Trini.
I kept a trading card of her in my collection for years.
Imagine my horror when I discovered that, years later, I would discover that she was gone.
A truly inspirational woman, and criminally underappreciated for her strength and beauty.
May she rest in peace.

Me too ❤❤
My favorite power ranger of all time Austin
Mine too
Same here
Jason frank was ok not impressive like many claim
Never tired of this tribute! ❤💛 See Austin talk about Thuy in such a sweet way, is so emotional!
I was 7 when MMPR was on TV, Trini was my favorite PR and I wanted her to be in love with Jason so much. Growing up, I was conviced that it was just a childish imagination, but now that I'm rewatching the show, I can say that, yes, they'd have been a lovely couple. I think Austin and Thuy had a great chemistry and you can see it in little things, little smiles or hugs (probably not written in the script).
I think this tribute is evidence of how intense their bond was. 🧡
Rest in Power, OG Yellow Ranger. We love you Thuy!!!
Rest In peace thuy
I swear Austin nearly teared up a few times, he loved her bits. Didn't know she was dead until years after I moved on from Power Rangers, still want to know more about these little pranks she did. And good on her and everyone else who stood up for what they were worth.
@Demonizer68 Austin did get chocked up several times in this video, he really misses her. I can hear it in his voice & see it in his face.
can anyone explain to me? So the power ranger actors didn't act in any of the battle scenes in costume? They were all copy and pasted from super sentai? If so why did Austin St John said he needed to wear costume? To only film the transformation cutscene?
They had the stock footage from the Japanese show Super Sentai. But they also had access to the suits and costumes. So they did film scenes in the suits themselves as well, like for some scenes where they were in them but with the helmets off.

"I did come very close to honouring her on several occasions" lol!
You can hear the sadness in his voice when he talks about her.. We really miss you Thuy 😭😭😭
It's refreshing to hear more about Thuy... Her life was too short to know much about her. This bring her back even if it's for a moment in time.
7:24 That's VERY deep Austin, I respect that 👊, we will all miss her, she may no longer be with us, but the power of the sabertooth tiger will ALWAYS live on. POWER RANGERS FOREVER!!😠✊✊
😭😭😭
Thuy Trang was beautiful, lovely young woman and she is truly missed
You can tell how hard Austin is fighting off the tears towards a friend he misses dearly. Though, her passing is still heart breaking, glad to hear Thuy Trang was a prankster. It sure made me laugh what she did. Thank you Austin for sharing your/her memories it brings lightness and joy. Thuy Trang you will always be in our hearts R.I.P. 💖💛
I think its more than that. To him, he knew her only a few years and she, along with the other cast members, became more of life-long, non-related siblings. You can tell by how he's talking about her that she was practically a sister to him, and that her loss is still painful to this day. Losses like that don't go away, they might get easier, but the pain in the chest, the longing to see them again, talk with them again, laugh with them again, only bring back the pain of being in a reality where they aren't here anymore and they've been gone for far too long. We can only hope that those loved ones are on another plane of existence that we will be able to reach again one day, when our own time comes. That's all we can truly ask for, hope for, pray for. That we will see them again.
@@KazumaPrime That's something that many want for sure to be reunited with lovfe ones.
I went on a pilgrimage in 2016 to pay respect to Thuy Trang during a trip to Disneyland. I went to Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California, where I read that her ashes had been interned, but I couldn't find her resting place. I asked at the Cemetery directory but they could find her either. I was sad and disappointed. It wasn't until a mid 2020 that I learned that her ashes had either been interned in or spread over the garden and has no marker, which is unfortunate.
💛 Sabertooth Tiger!
Guaranteed, she would've loved going to all these cons and seeing all the power ranger fans that remember the show years later
I swear, Thuy Trang’s death is one of rare celebrity deaths where I constantly ask myself “Why God, why HER?!”. Granted, a lot of miserable crap did happen in the world after her death so he was probably saving her from seeing & experiencing all that, but her passing to this day still hurts very much. Even after the almost 20 years that she’s been gone! I’m so sorry you lost one of your best friends Austin. From the passion in your voice throughout this tribute, it’s VERY clear that you (& Walter) cared for & loved Thuy a lot. Who knows what she could’ve done if she was still with us today. She probably would have loved all the cons & meeting tons of fans who she inspired.... but I suppose Thuy’s death is a reminder to ALWAYS live our lives to the fullest, because we will never know how long they’ll last. Thank you for sharing your tribute with us and please take care of yourself.
...
RIP Thuy Trang (1973-2001)
(November 2022 Update: Sadly, Thuy is now sharing her company in heaven with the equally as legendary Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver: The Mighty Morphin Green/White Power Ranger) who somehow against all sad odds passed on by an even worse fate then a car crash…
Sighs… RIP to them both. Hopefully they gave each other the biggest and tightest hug after being physically apart for so long.)
absolutely live to the fullest everyday. forgive, love and be grateful !
Believe me, it still stings today after 21 years.
I love them both...Trini and Jason is a perfect match for me...
I can how special Trini is for Jason...or could it be loved?..Only the 2 of them knew...
Miss you my favorite yellow ranger..
Thank you for yhe tribute Jas.❤❤❤
That was a heartfelt testimony for Thuy.
Me and my fiancée just finished the last episode we see the original red, black and yellow power rangers and it's revolting that they would let you guys leave for greed of those producers.
Man... she had one of the sweetest voice. Big loss but Allah is the best Knower and may He be pleased with her.
I would be so lucky when I’m gone to have someone say even half of these things with half the passion.
Thuy was clearly loved and respected and deservedly so.
I swear growing up watching power rangers influenced me to have a group of friends of different nationalities without knowing it..In primary school my group consisted of a handful of different races. Indian, Vietnamese, Maltese, Turkish, Samoan, Thai and Me, a Maori.
Thuy was a phenomenal actress who smashed all kinds of barriers. May the Power protect her and Jason David Frank. Rest in Peace Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang.
This had me crying my eyes out I didn't know she had passed away. Seeing those old clips of the show brought me back to 4th-5th grade. She was so beautiful 😭
Yeah I remember when it happened I was devastated, I couldn't believe it I felt so sad for the cast and her family
I met Austin & Walter at dragon con, and they were awesome--treated me nice, didn't rush me and was happy to talk. Thuy would have loved meeting her fans too.
Thank you for doing the show, that's horrible to find out that they used you guys, I was about 8 years old when it was on tv. It was the only good thing about my childhood, my dad was bad on drugs and never home, my mom was always working. The Power Rangers helped me get through that. Thank you 😌❤️
Do you have a favorite MMPR moment? I haven't watched in decades but I'll always remember when Jason first used the green rangers power. Red/green! No on demand then, I always hoped for the rerun
Every time they would edit a scene and cut to the next shot you can tell he was starting to cry. I like these kind of interviews. True friendship.
If she was still alive, I believe these two would have gotten married
You could actually find many pics of him and Thuy together post Power rangers. Definetely very close friend at one point.
I think so too
Definitely
I believe not. But I would love to be wrong.
I Think so to I always thought that austin st John loved thuy trang.
It is so sad and terrible how she died and so young, especially with what she has been through, and has not experienced 💔😭
The emotions ASJ exude goes to show that he really does love Thuy and who doesn't she's an amazing actress, tho I never got to know her but the way ASJ knows and described her proves that she's an amazing person...I remember when I was kid watching MMPR I always thought they looked good together and fast forward to 2020 I still ship them...I'll never get enough of Jason and Trini two of my favorite PR's. ❤💛
I hear you loud and clear on that front. Along with Dr. Egon Spengler and Janine Melnitz on The Real Ghostbusters, and Cmdr. Riker and Counselor Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jason and Trini were one of the first fictional couples that I shipped before I even knew what shipping was.
Hey, who left this bowl of onions here? 😔😔😔😭😭😭😭
This was honestly beautiful. The way he talked about her and how emotional he got. Made me tear up a little bit....😭
Sabertooth tiger for life!
Always for life 💛
Yellow Ranger for life!!!!
💛
Thuy ..20 years after ..we still miss you and you will live forever in our memories as the OG yellow ranger .
the fact MMPR is still around shows us how much talent there is in these people, i'd say more than ANY actor in HOLLYWOOD right now.
She will always be my favorite ranger. RIP you strong woman.
I always figured his character and Thuy's had a relationship like Tommy and Kimberly. I wish that could have happened on the show. It would have made a very interesting dynamic between Jason and Trini as their characters appeared much more responsible.
I’m glad they made it so in the comics.
Austin mentioned that he always wanted to date her but couldn’t make time with how hectic with their schedule was on set, among other obligations to the show
@@HisDudeness1986 that proves it that they could make a nice couple. It’ll be cool if they did an episode about it.
@@flameninja3 there was even a special he did a couple of years after leaving MMPR. Thuy was even featured. I’m thinking they may have been an item for some time
@@flameninja3 Trini is with Zack now
I didn't know her, personally. I only saw her character on screen. But she is, hands down, my favorite yellow ranger and she was one of the absolute cutest to take up the role of a ranger. Her intelligence shined through her performance.
So many years later and he’s still moved by her
I strongly understand where you're coming from Austin, Thuy Trang is an amazing woman and she's caring towards others. I have to admit that she's not only one of the most popular female yellow rangers in Power Rangers history but she's 1,984% intelligent and 1,984% out-going. I miss her alot and she's 1,984% very special to alot of people. 😢
Jason was my first crush ever and Trini was, hands down, my favorite ranger! I think she’s the reason yellow is my favorite color 🤩
Thuy Trang was a talented actress and she was so beautiful and very smart and confident in herself and she can kick Butt with her Friends and I miss her very much because I really crying my eyes out for awhile but I got of it all by myself and now it will mark 20 years since we lost her in 2001😭💔😭
R.I.P Thuy Trang
I remember when I found out about Thuy's passing. I was looking up where are all the original Power Rangers now. I saw Austin was a firefighter and the other members of the cast had done little things here and there for acting or every day life and then I look up Thuy and my heart just dropped and I teared up. I must've been like 13 or 14 at the time. I wish she were around nowadays to see how much of an impact she had on so many people. She probably would have absolutely loved the conventions like Power Morphicon. As a kid I looked up to all the power rangers and the original cast was such a huge part of my childhood. You are very missed Thuy by friends, family, and fans all over the world. 💛💛💛
Your story timeline makes no sense
@@marteenee88 What part doesn't make sense? I was a kid and the Power Rangers came out in 1993. Then later in the mid 2000's I found out about her passing. She passed in 2001. What part doesn't make sense?

@@marteenee88 it's okay dude. You're just wrong. I guess I'll write out the timeliness for you. RUclips came out in 2005 and I found out around 2005-2006. The video was on RUclips about her passing. I was 13 or 14. I watched a lot of the Power Rangers content from NoPinkSpandex way back then. They uploaded videos about the meet and greets and the panel the Rangers had done. Thuy aka Trini Kwan is the Mighty Morphin Hall of Famer. 💛
I’m extremely happy I grew up with something as amazing as Power Rangers and knowing that the fanbase and many of the actors are still passionate about it as well makes me even more happy.
I have said this elsewhere but I’ll put it down here:
I like to think that Trini and Tommy are somewhere in an Angel Grove in another world and hanging out at Ernie’s Bar, enjoying some cool drinks, training in martial arts together or just having the biggest catch-up with the wonderful Ernie next to them and with Zordon smiling on proudly. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger.
I know how this sounds but it helps a little when it comes to my own sadness upon the loss of these two icons of our childhood.
I loved this video too much, it's sad because she died very young, and she had so much to live for and she was such a beautiful and talented person. Thanks for this video Austin. I'm going to share it with all my friends, it deserves more views. A big hug from Argentina.

She was a light that was put out too soon. I had a crush on her from a young age. I will always admire her as I will continue to miss her. Sabertooth Tiger forever.
I only just got into Power Rangers like 30 years later but now becoming a fan, I always watch the intro and while I do I think to myself "I'd love to meet these people" especially Thuy because she's the Ranger I loved the most, she felt more real and came off as a legitimate badass (Could be the Asian ties to the original show) but I loved her, she was gorgeous, sweet and again felt the most like a Real person you could just meet on the street out of all the Rangers. So when a buddy of mine told me "Thuy's been dead for years dude" I was and still am so heartbroken over it, especially because it didn't need to happen, she was taken from us far to soon! 💔😭 Rest in Love Thuy, we all love and miss you ❤🖤💙💘💚💛

Thank you for sharing that with us. I was very sad when I learn she passed away . Their was something about her that you can tell she was humble and have a beautiful soul. I can see your heart shattered every time you talk about her and how much you love her. I believe she is your guardian angel who will always be by your side. We need more people like her and you ❤️ I understand lost and grief and missing that person so much that it still hurts but those memories are always with us and the essence of them is already planted with us and into the world. They made history that matter .
I always want to be a person like Thuy. This story touched me so much
Trini was my childhood hero, and I still think about her from time to time. I remember when I first discovered that a car accident had took her life. I was devastated because I had went from thinking that she must still be alive and gone on to be in many great tv shows and movies. It really truly broke my heart to pieces knowing that she had passed so young.
From the stories you tell, she sounds truly remarkable and wonderful. You must feel so incredibly special to have been able to have had some time with her. I know that I would have been very happy for that. I wished that I could have even met her just once.
I remember that when I was a child, I dressed up as the Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger perhaps a dozen times while my brother either went as the White or Green Ranger.
Just last Saturday, I sobbed pretty much the whole day, when I stumble across the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger theme song by accident when watching a random RUclips video. It made me so sad, and reminded me about the movie Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always.
Thuy, thank you for portraying the Yellow Ranger, and given me so many great memories as a young child. Being a young Asian child was pretty tough, but watching you on-screen made things somewhat easier. You will always be missed, but you will also always be my Yellow Ranger. Rest in Awesome, Thuy Trang.
I have began writing a fanfiction staring Trini as a way to keep her alive in her character. I am also going dress as the Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger this Halloween.
Thuy Trang and Jason David Frank will be remembered forever in our hearts and screens!
Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger!
5:51 That really breaks my heart. I'm sure she wanted to see him before she leaves.
😢 we miss you thuy
Thanks for this vid Auston. The original cast, specifically Thuy’s memory, make me wanna be a better person.
Very beautiful tribute to Trini, you're a great guy Austin and still the BEST Red Ranger/ Leader Jason.
Yeah, true to that.
I still say he's the best Ranger period.
i was 7 when you guys left the show, and i hated it. I have it on dvd and still till this day i can't watch it past that point. you guys are what made the show what it was. it wasn't right what the show did at all. but while you guys were on the show, it brought me a lot of happiness to me and i look up to you guys. Now i know i looked up to some great people.
Honestly you,Thuy and the other cast changed my life for the better I’ve loved power rangers since I was little kid and I still do and I’m a 23 year old potato rip Thuy your missed by your fans, friends, family and cast Sabertooth forever
I was a big MMPR fan as a kid, i am 33 years old now and found out about her dead only a couple of years ago and it broke my heart. Rip Thuy!
1:59 No kidding.🤕 I mean that's terrible. Shame on you Haim Saban! 😡 SHAME ON YOU!!!
I LOVE that this tribute was made! Trini was the best yellow ranger and she is the reason that I wanted to learn martial arts for years! when Power Rangers came out I was a young Asian girl that lived in a white dominated small town. Thuy Trang was the first Asian female I saw on TV and I wanted to be her. She truly seemed like the person described bc you saw it! I would’ve LOVED to see a Jason/Trini story line happen bc that definitely would’ve made sense! ❤️💛 Thank you Thuy Trang for being the first Asian female role model in my life and Thank you Austin St John for continuing to remember her.
Yes, the crazy thing is, today everyone is throwing race in our face saying look, we have an Asian or black or Hispanic in our movie. But this was done decades ago and it was done authentically. Zak the hip hop black ranger and Trini the Asian yellow ranger who was absolutely adorable. I'm black and I loved how they brought every walk of life together. She will forever be adored and missed.
And also great testimony about her from ASJ. A list celebs get the popularity for standing for actor's wages, but these guys who were unknown did it long before them. In addition their pay was shameful. I was sad to see them go, but now that I know this, it was a bold move for those 3.
RIP Thuy. We miss ya sister. Till we meet again. Got hope just knowing you've still been living your life after death 🙏 🕊
I would love to hear your stories about her. If I ever meet you, I hope you don't mind my asking cause I never watched power rangers again after you three left. Its like a piece of my childhood ended, cause I had zero interest in moving on with the new seasons as a kid.
She was wonderful. Our team remembers her. She brought great skills to many here.
May she RIP.
She had such a bright cheery smile. She was taken too soon. This was a beautiful tribute. Thanks for this Austin. You are still the best Red Ranger :).
I've been a fan from episode one onward. It wouldn't be overstating things to say that I idolized the entire team. You guys were everything I wanted to be when I was a kid. It's nice to know that the people behind the characters were just as amazing.
Thuy Trang; gone but never forgotten.
Only know Thuy as an actor, and with this video, Austin, you succeeded to bring tears into my eyes!!
All the right things that Austin st John said about thuy was a great tribute to the yellow power ranger
I really enjoyed this !! I look at Jason differently now .
I remember coming home after teaching TaeKwonDo and watching the first season of MMPR. Still feel like it was the best. Prayers for the best yellow ranger. Thanks to the best Red / Gold ranger for this video, and thanks for all you have done for our soldiers, sailors, and airmen.
they were my favorite rangers i was so happy when jason and trini dated in the comics and to this day i still can't get over the break up it was supposed to be jason and trini i still hope they get back together at some point i would be so happy thanks for exist.
Beautiful tribute, Austin. Thank you for this. I know many of us will forever miss Thuy.
I literally cryed.....😭miss you so so much Thuy....words cant explain the way i love and respect you 💛💛🕊️
Thuy 😭😭😭💛💛💛
90's icon missed, saved Billy's life that was hard to watch. I didn't know Thuy had gone, but her excellent character has Trini always be missed and give me inner strength.
Greetings from Australia.
I feel your pain man. I'm with you. I enjoyed your video which was extremely touching. It drew a tear.
I swear, feel “ your pain man” you can see your pain but she never forgotten she always be the yellow ranger always the first yellow ranger I think they gave her justice and a good sendoff in the once and always they did a great job with that but yeah it sucks that we lost Tommy & Trini also known said David Frank & truy kwan but they will always live on thank you for this video that shows that the power rangers are always together and always rangers
I had a huge crush on Trini. So beautiful inside and out.
If she stayed on the show she might still be with us. Different place Different time. In some alternative universe trini is still alive. But she'll always be apart of us 80-90s kids.
Nice tribute of Thuy Trang. Walter, Thuy knew what was going on behind the scenes but they stood up to the man.. The same thing happens today in Hollywood. Under pay actors being unappreciated by their bosses..
R.I.P. Thuy Trang. Even if I never got to meet you, you'll forever live on in our hearts. :):)
