"ON THE SPOT" W/THE MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

- Hey guys! Join me in this on the spot documentary featuring the original cast (+ more) of FOX Kids The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!
Over the course of the entire 25th anniversary year long celebration of everything Power Rangers, I was fortunate enough to chat with the cast and reflect back on how they got their jobs, why they feel the Rangers are still so popular 26 years later, how the franchise has evolved over almost 3 decades, getting to perform their own stunts and even shopping for hard to find toys during the Christmas of 1994, plus more!
Featured in this video are actors Austin St. John, Jason David Frank, Walter Jones, David Yost, Amy Jo Johnson, Karan Ashley, Steve Cardenas and Nakia Burrise!

The only member of the original five who was unable to be appear in the documentary is Thuy Trang, who portrayed the original Yellow.Ranger Trini Kwan. She died in automobile accident on September 3, 2001. May she rest in peace; her character was played by Audri DuBois in the pilot episode. Show respect for Thuy Trang.
It's unfortunate, yes. She's in as many pictures as I could get her in, plus she has a spot all her own at the very end.
The Retro Rebel I’m glad you got enough pictures of Thuy Trang in the documentary. It would be disrespectful to hide or blur out pictures of her. I can’t talk about Power Rangers without mentioning her.
@@davidhill8565 If you felt disrespected then dont watch it. Make your own documentary. This documentary was her vision and in my opinion she did a awesome job.
Mike Sanchez I feel no disrespect for Thuy Trang. Who would? I can’t think of anyone who would disrespect her. I see nothing that would merit any criticism of her.
Rrspect!!! Fir Trini
I'm 30 and still watch them and buy any merchandise I can. Thanks for this video. I'm so happy you got a message from all the main cast!
Yes I still watch it with my son he is a big fan of the green ranger just like me lol brings back memories even watching the show brings back memories of when I was a kid 31 and still a fan 😎
I'm 33 and was a big part of my childhood! Loved power rangers and still do. Lots of great memories!!

Dude I'm 24 but I still love them as much as I loved them when I was a kid. Go Go power Rangers!

Amy Jo Johnson looks great!
Yes she does i wanna meet her
I had a chance to Skype with her a few years back before The Space Between came out. Really lovely.
❤️Amy❤️
Since i was kid always had a crush on her and still do. Im 29 now i been watching since the beginning on Fox Kids
I did once, and even though I still love her, I was slightly disappointed. She seemed distant and disconnected
This girl has a lot of potential. The professionalism she showed in interviewing the cast members and the questions that she asked blew my mind. I'm probably old enough to be her father. And even I can't do the interviews as good as she did. And a huge salute to the person who did the editing. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was explained to the fans in detail using pictures and clips.
Thank you so much, and thanks for noticing!
Power Rangers was great
i just wanna share this video because it was so good and it was kind hard to find too
I like how David Yost (Billy) became so inspirational in life especially what he went through personally behind the scenes of the show. I'll definitely take it to heart. Thank you Billy.
Him coming out of the closet in 2010 gave him plenty of new fans.
Thank you for this documentary! So many memories! R.I.P Thuy Trang 🙏🏼

Agreed. She had this delicate grace about her on the show not to mention the nice sweet scenes between Trini and Billy or Trini and Zack.
Lee Vang yeah
Miss you thuy trang
Trini ( thuy trang ) will always be the best yellow ranger
She was also a very strong representative for asian culture
Zack and Kimberly still look young! This show was a hit growing up, everybody was doing karate at that time because of PR. It took me months to get a PR toy. Lol
I have been a fan since 93 and still is in 2020. I love the Power Rangers. She did an awesome job at interviewing. I am 36 years old and still love it

I been watching Power Rangers since the 1st day in ‘93 and this was The best video that I ever seen. Getting the opportunity to interview the cast of Power Rangers, for me, would be a true event. You did an awesome job

Love how the actors of Kimberly and Zack have hardly changed! Guess legends are immortal huh? 😉

That compliment from JDF means so much more now that we just lost him. Great job on this interview!
I was never a Tommy fan, but I love how motivational and positive JDF was about having a purpose and a passion. And good job with the questions Retro Rebel! MMPR meant a lot to me as a kid. I'm so jealous you got to interview the original cast.

Amy Jo Johnson actually showed up! WoW!
She was very willing to talk, Tampa Bay Comic Con wasn't wanting her to... but I have ways, lol!
Ya, a lot of people think that she doesn't fully embrace the Power Ranger fandom or just doesn't like being remembered for Power Rangers like her co-stars do
@@TheRetroRebel how come Tampa Bay didn't want her to talk?
I got the pleasure to be Guest Lancer for David Yost when he came to Jacksonville. One of the kindest person I've ever met. We talked throughout the entire day. At the end he even gave me a signed picture for my son and I couldnt be more thankful.
My goodness they're all so cool!! David Yost's Affirmative card made my day!!! They were what made the show amazing . . they set it apart and made even the non action scenes the most fun i could have had as a kid.

I've been a fan of Power Rangers since the very beginning as a kid. Today, I'm still a fan. I still watch Power Rangers on TV and browse the series on TV Tropes, The official wiki and other sites. Truly, the franchise has greatly impacted everyone, young and old and the entire planet yesteryear and today and it'll continue to do so for generations to come. To the interviewer, you did an excellent job. You have a very bright future. I hope some big company will hire you. I'd support you. Great video interview. 10/10.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
“Embrace who you are, Believe in who you are, Affirm who you are.” I love David Yost’s motto and he explained it so well! Thank you for sharing this. It was nice to hear these icons speak! 🙌🏼
I’ve been watching Power Rangers interviews for a decade and this is among absolutely the best. I learned so much that I didn’t know about the actors personalities in particular, the ASJ top #5 life lessons were amazing & its impressive you also got Amy Jo & JDF. Keep up the great work, you’re headed places!
Thank you!
This gen children after our gen they won't be getting any entertainment only education
Entertainment is gone after Jetix and fox kids stop and cn old programming blocked
I remember me running home after Middle School so i wont miss the MMPR show. I got tired of running after a few weeks, so i saw them right after school in a room in my local boys club which was a block away from school. Most of the kids around me where making fun of the show, yet they always stood there to watch the episode till it end.. Lol
This made me cry. I’m 34 years old yesterday and this show has impacted my life so much
David Yost is such a sweetheart!
This kid is asking all the right questions! Amazing.
True PR spirit! Keep it up :)
Thank you!
Great video. I’m 41 years old, and still enjoying them. RIP Thuy Trang, Robert L. Manahan, and now Jadon David Frank. It’s good you met them while you can. Because you never know who will be next. We aren’t promised tomorrow, and we might find out another one passed. I am so happy for you.
That thumbnail almost made me cry 😢 especially without Thuy Trang.
in terms of who could have played who, I love how who played how in the end. Billy is my dude, Tommy is the man, Jason was cool.... Adam was my fave!

JDF “I do all my stunts”
Austin “there were times when Jason couldn’t be in the suit”
lol these two aren’t good at playing down the beef rumours are they aha.
Great video btw ! Really good questions and you gave them time to answer which a lot of interviewers don’t do nowadays. Good job 👍🏼.
KBM 515 he needs to chill bro lol.
On a TV set that's often not realistic. Often there have to be two scenes being shot simultaneously. For a show like PR (especially when they filmed more episodes per season), one unit would film the main cast in unmorphed scenes, while elsewhere another unit would film the stunt actors doing a fight scene, because these episodes had strict deadlines. Scheduling is everything.
They definitely aren't fans of each other, lol. In fairness though, Jason was talking about during Power Rangers. JDF i think is talking about now. One the web series and stuff he's been on he probably does do his own stunts. :p
Exactly. That's what I noticed lol. 😆
The young lady interviewer was very clever on asking this question on these two competitors. They're both a little arrogant, but I love them both. Loving memories to our lovely yellow ranger may she rest in peace and will never be forgotten 🌹✌
Like Alpha told Zordon back in the day “putting those two together was a bad idea!” 😂
I've met Karan, nakia, jdf, walter, just awesome people. Great video.
Thank you!
One thing I like about the Power Rangers is that there is always a lesson that you can learn even to this day of Power Rangers you can learn a lesson like for example in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel episode title Prepare to Fail. When the teacher Ms. Finch says " Some test are tougher than others, just like the challenges that we face in life. It is also one reason that I like Power Rangers Turbo. Tommy, Adam, Tonya, and Kat Graduated from High School so instead of giving them answers like Zordon did, Dimitria made them think. For example the Shadow Rangers episode Tommy was hoping that Dimitria would give him the answer, but instead she asked "What destroys light?" Tommy, Kat, Adam, and Tonya were about to face the real world and they needed to figure things out on their own.
JDF was a really great person and the thing l will miss about him is his caring personality R I P Tommy l will miss you so much and Thank You for everything
The OG rangers still look so good, I wish they could have a reunion episode. Not sure what's the best way to handle Trini though. Some kind of tribute would be nice.
I remember power rangers used to come on everyday about 4:30 when I came home from school
@@lenortucker5146 My best Power Rangers memory is when season 2 first aired. It aired in the evening and was called "Power Rangers Prime Time". It felt so surreal and special to watch Power Rangers during the "grown up show" hours, and it was the first time I saw a show introduce such a radical upheaval to the status quo. Plus Lord Zedd and the Thunder Zords were just so cool. It was a great time to be a kid.
Chris yup
Lenor Tucker yup
Chris yeah
Retro Rebel is absolutely adorable. Loved hearing all ASJ interview segments. He talks very uniformed but will every now and then place subtle humor in it. Great words by JDF at the end too. Also 11:10 Chris Casamassa (Red Dragon/Scorpion) in the bottom left row there and 10:21 Cast wearing everyone else's colors, Black ranger in Yellow, Red Ranger in Blue, Blue Ranger in Red...

That's what I'm talking about power rangers has been my favorite show ever since I was a kid. I was 11 in 1994
I was 15 when MMPR premiered on tv and loved it and ive seen every version since up to Beast Morphers. Ive seen both movies and other shows like VR troopers, Beetleborgs, and Masked Rider from Saban. Hope to see Hasbro Rangers movie. The original team will always be my favorite as it was a great escape from the world, to want to be a hero like them and ive been trying to create my own characters for over 25 years but no sucess yet or any published, but hope someday it will happen and rangers is the reason i started creating and reason i love science. I dont have a favorite Ranger, i like all of them for different reasons. Thank you to the cast for a great childhood show thats become legendary today.
I had the VR trooper Lunchbox and thermos lol dug beetleborgs as well
@@mikelane2866 i dont think many people remember those shows anymore but a movie and new series updated would be awsome.

This was the greatest Power Ranger (interview documentary) I've seen . It's perfect cause you were able to Interview all of the Original Cast. i'm 29 and I have and watch all the episodes. Plus I collect the merchandise.
1993 was the single best year of my childhood, and i thank power rangers for that. i was 10, in 3rd grade. i still rewatch the first few seasons every couple years.
Jason David Frank and his versatility for power rangers really stood out in my opinion.
You can tell the actors liked being interviewed by you. Full of respect, smart questions and the chance to talk about themselves and the experiences they had. Keep going with this, you have a bright future!
Thank you!
I wasn't allowed to watch the show at all when it first aired. After the first episode, my brother and I and some of the neighborhood kids decided to reenact it. Unfortunately, the fights turned a bit too real... Oops...
Even after a few years anytime it came on and I was flipping through the channels I was told to change it. Kinda sucked.
I'm 32 now with my own Netflix account, so I'm catching up on the campy nostalgia of the age and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Without the fighting, of course.
You have done an amazing job with this interview and the editing of this video is top notch. I know other people have said it, but you have a bright future ahead of you.

At Top Con 17 I met both Catherine Sutherland and Nakia Burrise. They are even much more beautiful in person even after all these years. Both are true sweethearts. It was funny because the night before, I was at a Walgreens and there was a pretty long line, and Nakia was standing in it. I'd brought it up the next day when I saw her and she looked at Catherine and said "See!! I told you there was a long line!!!" Apparently Catherine was waiting outside in the car and wondering what was taking her so long. I asked if there were going to be any more episodes of Class Dismissed and she'd gotten excited. Two very nice girls.
