- While attending the 50 Years of ///M Celebration Event held BMW Autohaus in Thornhill, ON, Canada and hosted by I ///M Fans Car Club, I was able to get a few mins with the 2023 BMW X1 xDrive28i in Cape York Green Metallic on Oyster Sensatec. With the new iDrive 8 curved display, engine power upgrade and new driver assistance tech such as blind spot monitoring which was unavailable in the previous X1 this new U11 body X1 does all those things and more and manages to look great while doing them. What do you think of the all new X1?

Wow!! What a great new design. I used to own a 2018 X1 and this new look is amazing!!! I cannot believe the base model comes with wireless phone charging. I think the "little roller-coaster handle" is to keep the phone in place.
Yeah the little roller coaster seat belt is definitely to keep the phone in place but its just interesting lol I like it, but yes the new X1 is a huge leap forwards in terms of design
Just ordered mine:) I hope I don’t regret an all touch screen system. Will miss the rotary dial.

Must admit saw one today after a night shift and I stood next to my manky car that gets me from A to B with my mouth open. Wow I thought what a good looking vehicle looked fab and loved the colour.
it is a very well designed, and if you like this design, you will be impressed when the 2025 x3/x4 is introduced

Wow! Almost wished we waited. Bought the new X3 this past spring instead.
The X3 is still bigger and better but the new X1 is nice to be on the same generation software as the iX.

Thanks for this comprehensive video! Does the Cape York Green color look less dull in real life? Sometimes it looks nice but with a lot of sun or artificial lights (like in a showroom) on it, it looks not exciting at all :/ I believe that this color combines much better with shadowline instead of the chrome parts.

After wanting to buy electric, I looked at phev too. Just came to conclusion that diesel is probably still relevant, esp in Thailand where I live, which gets flooded every yr.

Looks good! The tow package is a mandatory item for me but I don't see it listed on the BMW build your own website. How do I order the tow package?
In Canada it is a $750 stand alone option
How BMW 7 speed DCT doing? I Don't know why BMW change DCT on 2023 X1
Personally I don't like DCT It's little jerk on low speed

will there be an m sport version. I seen the euro spec ones with m sport and they look good.
Yes definitely, however they sent the X-Line model across Canada for us to see.
Your title states xDrive, is that correct? You mentioned this one was front wheel drive.
Thank you for watching! It is definitely xDrive, every vehicle in the x series, ie X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 are all xDrive thats why they are named like that. When did I mention this was front wheel drive?

looks good but where is the exhaust?
Thank you for watching! The car does have a split dual exhaust but there are no tips, they just angle downwards, likely to accommodate the lack of exhaust in the iX1 and the X1 hybrid. Availability will be determined by your market.
Unfortunately literally 5-8k over my Max budget here in Australia. That close to buying it.. bugger.

Thank you for watching! Its only slightly bigger than the last one, still very different in size compared to the X3, we should see them towards the end of the year, beginning of next year.

Is there for sure no heads up display in the x1?
You can get head up display in the new X1, this one just wasn't equipped with it.
What is the delivery ETA for 2023 X1 custom orders ?
We have a few HEA package units arriving for October, I would imagine your vehicle would arrive somewhere towards Spring if you wanted to order one exactly the way you want it.
No gear shift lever !?
There is a gear selector, but its not like the one found in the previous model.

Does the sunroof has a shade?
Yes there is a power sunshade that was retracted.
Do the windows come tinted ?
not from factory but this one was pre-production
Does it have dual exhausts tips, one on each side?
Yes, it does, but they are not visible, they are pointing down towards the ground.
What’s the difference between the sports seat and non-sport seats?
Really want to know too.
The Comfort seats and Sport seats will differ with the Sports seats having more side bolstering and a slightly different design, haven't seen it in person but I have seen photos
@@AllenBMWDurham thanks! On the US build website it says the sports seats are 12 way adjustable and you mentioned these standard seats are 6. Does that sound right that the sports seats would have twice the amount of power adjustment? Also, do you know if the stand seats have the thigh support adjustment at the front of the seat?
Correction, US build site says 10-way “10-way power front sport seats including adjustable side bolsters, supportive raised bolsters on backrest and bottom of seat.”
Where did you find the info on the sport seats on the US site?

Thank you for watching! This is a pre-production model that is being sent to each dealership across Canada so it can be displayed for people to come see so often times people have been in there playing around with things and iDrive 8 so without driving it of course the battery would drain.
Jesus. BMW has removed so many hard buttons. No bc control?

If I have to access a touchscreen to access climate controls, heated seats and steering wheel its a no go for me.
I understand where you're coming from, the climate controls for me are not so bad but touching the whole thing, I'm too spoiled for that

bmw is messing up so bad with the x1 no climate control buttons now they take away the swivel wheel cmon no one likes only touch screens it’s a pain to use while driving
