I am an RC heli pilot in NC too. I have been into it for four years and feel your pain with learning. Keep it up and I am glad I found your channel.

Hi Mykel! I hope you back will be fine again soon so that you can do all you want. I can imagine that it can be hard if progressing gets more difficult the more difficult the stuff is you want to archieve! I am lucky that I just am flying helis for 3,5 years. So I have so much relativeely simple stuff to learn yet. I know from my Bass playing that you come to a plateau at times where its difficukt to further progress. I wish you that your flying gives you more joy and satisfaction again in the New Year!! I was always waiting rather too long before I did a new move I was able to do in the Simulator finally in the real world! The potential consquencs out there make a huge difference! So once again a Happy New Year!!

I think I just needed to whine! and yes I usually feel that way just before a new Plataue is reached. Also taking a week break can do wonders, but not more. I'm truly happy with my abilities and very thankful. Im just a goal setter and probably set my expectations a little high, then punish myself for not working harder. I don't seem to have this issue with guitar or drums LOL. I need to chill and continue to enjoy the ride. Thanks for the counseling! Another job title for you hahaha!!!

@@mykel1969 Mykel, it's always better to set your expactations too high than too low... at leats thats the way I feel. And we all need to whine from time to time!! I wish you tons of great flights with a smile on your face. I see this smile when I watch some of you videos when I hear in your comments that you are happy in this moment. Only always smiling and happiness would be probably quite soon boring! We need rain and sunshine after it!! All the best!!

I hope your back gets better buddy!
I like the realistic stance you take on flying, not claiming to be the best but willing to show what you know and passing on your experiences.
I know I’ve asked a lot of questions and I appreciate your honesty and willingness to help out others.
Now it’s winter up here and I’m on the fence about getting the Goosky S2 since I won’t be able to fly it outdoors for a few months.
Keep up the great videos and don’t get to discouraged

hey thanks man! and thanks for the encouraging words! I'm big on drones indoors. I flew a blade 180qx, 10 batteries a night, 7 min/ flight, a whole winter years ago, and my hovering/ close work skills shot through the roof. so did my proximity comfort. A drone in red mode takes the same stick work as a helicopter so nose in is nose in. All of this was "practice with purpose", slow, deliberate, precise, and close as possible. This is the reason I am very proficient and comfortable in all upright aspects of flying but not as much inverted. only reason for the drone is it can crash many times and isn't nearly as dangerous should it hit you or your wife's car! now that im saying this, perhaps doing that whole process again but inverted with a micro helicopter is what I need to do. Back to your statement on flying, yes, as I see it, we are all in the same place no matter how "good" we are. We are all stuck between what we have learned so far and what we wish to learn. So we are all the same. Besides, I can't think of any hobby or pastime that punishes ego-maniacs more. That why you just don't see smart ass, flamboyant, cocky Pro Pilots. LOL Peace!

Sad to hear of your struggles my friend. I love to watch you flying that back yard. I have a Goosky s2 thats between the sim and my raw500. It flys great for it’s size. It’s big enough to keep it at a safe distance and small enough not to be to intimidating. And when you crash, half of the times i have no damage. When i have damage it’s really cheap to fix. I can highly recommend one. Here in the Netherlands parts often just take a week to arrive. And most of the time i have enough spares laying around. You can use a satellite to pair it to your favorite transmitter via sbus. OMP makes a similar heli called the m2.

@@mykel1969You will love the Goosky S2, 55% power will give you 7 minutes flight time and 70% power will give you 4 minutes flight time with over 20% remaining in the pack. This helicopter has plenty of power as you can review for yourself.
It would be a great addition to your channel. It is a popular machine, it will boost this channel for sure, as I, like others love watching you fly in the backyard. I have mine hooked to a Spektrum DX6. Let me know if you need more info about them.

So I know it’s weird but I don’t like sim flying lol I go three mistakes high and do it in real life. I do around 3 packs any more and I screw up! Piro flips are what I’m having a hard time with, I can do them but I screw them up after a few. One day it will click and be easy, do you have a S2? If not get one! Best practice heli! Thing is perfect to beat on and cheap as shit to crash lol

ahhh there's the Man! Jeff, I will say you keep me motivated buddy! I envy your ability to keep it on everyday, day in, day out! your the US MAIL of RC helicopter content! I get burnt out and thats why I would never try to pull off what you are doing on here. You're a great motivator! Ok you also confirmed my decision to back out my wife's toaster car, and get a S2 and fly it for a while! at least I can pick that up when it crashes and my backs out hahaha!!! thanks man, Peace!

"three mistakes high" Smack Talk episode 1 of learning 3d hahaha Man I LOVED that program! But here's the thing, I watched the first episode about 10 years ago, and ole Bert says "do not attempt this until you can fly all aspects of flight and do stationary rolls and pirouettes" haha ya im planning on starting episode 2 in 2027!! haha!! BOBBY WATTS WHERE ARE YOU?? hahaha now thats funny
