It's just super well made. The circuit board is a little work of art. And it does anything a real Klon can do and then some. It has a Bass pot so you cant say it has less or more low end than a Centaur cause it's totally controllable. 3 different clippers on top of all that. It's the perfect Klone imo.
Apollo approved and decibelics also make a mean Klone(I own both and have played multiple klones). The Wildwood version of the Mjolnir is also up there.
@John Mayer Gear Do you like the Gold more than the Nordvang? From what I'm hearing here it is superior. Any thoughts? My Gold is waiting in my mailbox at home!
@@tomolewine5743 you got a couple of great pedals! If using both, I highly recommend taking advantage of the Pre-Drive on the Nordvang, and set them to different gain settings
THE Centura seems to "hit" better than the other two, has a better percussive whack to it. I kept wishing you'd turn up the Nordvang just a hair. I have a Gravity 2.0 on the way, I wonder if the No. 1 Sig is identical to what's in the Gravity?
Absolutely! The extra features are very nice and the components are of higher quality. I'm very glad I got the Gold. I already have a Centura and my Nordvang will be here this week.
@@JohnMayerGear do you know the differences between the studio daydream v9 and previous versions? I got the one without the black plate, but its still gold. Any notable differences?
The KCM sounds subjectively dull to me compared to the others. The Centura seems like it does the "Klon Thing" the best gut would also be the least forgiving of the three. Am I on to something?
Darn, I just ordered the Gravity by Nordvang and the Nordvang is my least fave in this bud. I should have went with my gut. To use a Klone and a Metal Screamer for my tone. That gold klone is incredible. Same with Ceriatone.
The KCM-OD Gold is the best Klone no one talks about. Incredibly well made in Japan.
what makes it better than any other

Holy shit I came here expecting the Ceriatone to kill the competition... thank you so much for this video!! Please do more.
I'm glad you enjoy the content
best review play i’ve ever seen🔥🔥🔥
that last segment sounds so. freaking. GOOD!!
Thank you!
Very Well Done Shootout. - Compliments!!! Love it. Slightly preference for the KCM
Thank you!
KCM goes hard
They all sound great! Playing is great too! I just got the Nordvang and the pre-amp switch is glorious!
The Pre-Drive is a total game changer!
Not fair, you make everything sound good! 😋
Haha thanks, man!
All sound good; maybe a bit of preference for the KCM in this test. Blind test may not be distinguishable.
Thanks for the feedback!

Pedal has a lot to do with how the hands react , I use the sdd fine tuned gold and I just feel at home with it .. but that’s me
KCM gold is my preference. I already have a Centura, but I'm ordering a gold right now.
The tweakability of the KCM gold is great!

@John Mayer Gear The Gold has arrived (love it) and I now I have a Nordvang coming this week. That predrive switch is really something.

@@JohnMayerGear that's the plan! Thank you again for a very well done video.
how do they compare to the klon model in the hx stomp?
That's a great question. I will do an HX Stomp comparison series of videos

Is the KCM gold worth the extra cash over their silver?

studio Daydream really went deep into fine-tuning the gold one, if you can get it, you won't regret it

They all sound great to me. What’s the flint setting?
Middle one: 70's plate reverb

I may have just missed it but what amp are you using?
I'm playing through a Peace Hill FX TRJM Tube Preamp into BIAS AMP 2 for power amp/cab sim
