This form of compare is far out the best I've seen untill now : the guy doesn't sit there to let hear people how good he plays on the guitar which is the case with lot's of this demonstrations ; no , he is doing an precisely compare with both pedals without showing of and that's how it should be. I have the same pedal 35gbp from ebay a few years back. For 35 quid I guessed that you can't go wrong. Within 2 weeks I'd sold my KTR. Thanks for highlighting this. Great playing BTW.
Centaur sounds a bit clearer. Wish has more low end, maybe the treble control could bring it a bit closer with a slight increase. Both sound great though. I'm waiting for my clone in the mail.
TL072 architecture on both pedals, so main difference is probably the actual values of the tone caps. Cheap ones will vary up to 35%, this will really not make much overall change just require a little move of the pot
Caps also can drift with age to different values, thus affect the tone. If I had the OG Centaur I could probably measure the capacitance of it’s caps and clone it in another pedal.
I think you found gold! Forget using the pedal for distortion, just turn the gain down, and use it to get that sweetened and enjoyable tone for your clean...THEN, feed into other effects.
I've watched every comparison on YT and this one is the best. The one on the left has A delicious sound and is clearer with a little more output. Imo the one on the right comes the closest to it and is budget friendly. It's on my wish list for this Xmas.
Which Seller on Wish did you purchase your "Wish Klon" from ? There are several, and offering products at many different prices which is rather confusing . Your demo/comparison is the BEST I have found to date. I received a Wish Klon for FREE (a silver one with the Chinese characters) and it is not a correct copy. The TREBLE control is simply a normal tone control, and as I raise the GAIN control I have to adjust the OUTPUT lower to maintain equal volume. But besides that, it does sound VERY good and I'm keeping it.
I just got my wish today. I’m ordering the centura tomorrow. The klon surprised me. Tested it for 29 minutes, used it as a clean boost, and it absolutely floored me. Wasn’t expecting it to be anything special. I’ve been using my strymon sunset as a boost, and honestly, my guitar sounded fuller using the wish klone. Unreal. Can’t wait to see how the centura is. My sunset might be getting listed on reverb. Lol. Pretty soon it’ll be the centura, spaceman Saturn VI, and 1981 DRV as my overdrive/distortion section. And I’ll be set. I’m curious if you have the 29 pedals EUNA. And if so, what’s your thoughts on it? I just ordered one last week and am awaiting its arrival. Love your videos man.
This wish is just not anywhere as dynamic in its range. It’s even obvious on an iPhone without even having to put on headphones. Just depends how well your ears are at really listening for differences especially if you’re used to recording and eq in a DAW

Centure at 10 sounds better (fat). At 1 o Clock the wish klon does a real good job. For Rock like RHCP I would prefer the Centure. For Hard Rock I would take the wish klon clone.
Ones cost $400 the other $49 and for me the wish is better. As threw a cranked valve amp with mulity effects board so wish wines. Just his to show how much money these companies are ripping people off .just like all the guitar and every thing else.
@@joelsmith4816 I did have a few Centuras. My favorite Klones are the Nordvang Number 1 Signature and Studio Daydream Kcm-od Gold. Those are both incredible.

It’s an approximation of the tone. That’s all. It’s worth 35 quid but a way huge conspiracy theory is a better budget solution or the tumnus for those who can’t afford a ceriatone

Yes there is reverb but it is not drowning in it. Doesn't make any difference because it is the same for both pedals.

They are different in character. If you need more mids the centura is great. Super clean is great for more transparent boost.
