A few years ago (20), I went there to pick up my son from his mission. I was very impressed with the locals there. They waived at us as we drove around; I man we stopped on the street not only gave us directions, he jumped in with us for the 3-mile ride to our destination. He didn't care about us bringing him back because he knew he could flag down a ride if he wanted. Everybody was so happy, respectful, and humble. One thing you will see is the 747 of mosquitos, be prepared. And pack light, you'll want to bring home souvenirs, and lots of inexpensive beautiful cloth to sew if you like doing that. Oh, and be informed, Sunday is really observed, 95% of the businesses are closed, God is present.
