Your videos are awesome bro. I watch everything single one you put out. I am looking to start my own Junk removal business here in Tampa FL. Watching yours videos definitely gives me the motivation to get started!!!
Thanks for the video, I usually take the roof off first on the ones with lower ceilings but will have to try it this way next time. Shed like that we get about $750 and our dump fees are about half what yours are. Thanks again
That is how we started doing them. Much easier to take the roofs off of smaller or lower ceiling sheds, I agree. Most of the shed we demo are this size or larger so every chance we get to safely do it the way it was done in the video, we always do. I'd say 50% of the time we still need to start with the roof though due to obstacles like fences or the house itself that you don't want to damage. Where do you operate? Gotta love those lower dump fees!
Nice video. I had a tree go through an old shed in a winter storm and plan on doing this DIY. This gave a very good overview of steps and things to expect. I live in CT and our dump fees are equally crappy. Thanks!
What’s up Steve! Cool video. I just did a shed demo a little smaller than this. I charged $650 and cleaned $500. My competition asked for $1,200. Best part is I was able to take it apart by hand! Ha! The customer was like wtf? Sometimes they come down easy.
@@SteveConroy1 no power tools or pry bar or hammer. I kicked the walls out then tore them off. Once it was structurally weak enough I then pushed it down. Then I used leverage and pivot points to take it apart. The whole job took about 2.5 hours. This turned out to be an easy job. I’ve worked harder trying to pull a couch out of an apartment. I even had to cut one in half once. Ha!
Good video on a shed removal. We have a trailer. This is one reason we like them much better then a dump truck. Much easier to load. One day we'll have one but more for dirt jobs then trash.
Exactly! The trailer is 10x easier to load. However, in my neck of the woods, a trailer is a nightmare to navigate into driveways and tight roads in the city.
Bro you should use the bouncy part of the trampoline as a trap!!! They work amazingly. Plus!!! They have durable hooks all the way around it. It works great and the wind hardly picks it up and it’s pretty dang durable on its own. I’m sure we’ve all jumped on a trampoline once before. They’re just bad ass tarps.
i’m a window and roof cleaner, but first shed demo tomorrow morning by myself for 400😂 bringing a saw zol and a sledge hammer, hopefully i don’t look like a jackass😂
hi i was wondering, what pound sledge hammers did you use? i haf to go buy a couple for ppl doing the same thing on our shed. i though i could get them at a pawn shop maybe?
Half the time and a quarter of the effort is correct. What you are not thinking of is 1) Going to pick up the machine (assuming the have a grapple attachment) 2) Laying down a plywood path from the shed to the dump trailer and possible around the shed itself 3) After the job is done, the dump trailer is full and needs to be brought to the transfer station/landfill (machine still at customers house). 4) Go from transfer station/landfill back to the customers house, load up the machine and drop it back off. That job took us less than 2 hours and we didn't damage the lawn whatsoever. We did 2 jobs before it and 1 after. Much quicker to do it this way.
Just a thought, it may be a good idea to cap off wires(individually of course) with wire nuts to avoid any potential future liability. And take a picture so you have proof that it was done.
You are 100% correct. The electricity to the shed was shut off and a new one was being installed shortly after we removed this but I agree with you completely.
I did not have the tester with me. The shed was not labeled on the breaker. We find it pretty common when we are taking down sheds. Rarely are they labeled on the breaker
@@SteveConroy1 yes i get that but you just start turning off breakers until you no longer have hot wires in the shed? But shutting down the entire panel is not always a good idea for lots of reasons. No big deal i guess.
@@ADOTlied I agree with you. But when the customer insists on shutting it all off at once so they can get back to their meeting, you do as you're told lol. People are funny.
So.. wish me luck taking this old dirty wooden shed down. Everytime i look outside my window it blocks my view. I wish i had money to hire help. Thanks for your video, it was very helpful 👏🏻

To save time through down a tarp, put the pile on the tarp... Once you get all the big stuff on the truck you just roll up the tarp throw it in the back shake it out at the transfer station
How'd you cap the wire, so it wasn't live when the power was turned back on? Did you have experience in demolition prior to starting your business? Keep up the hard work and great videos.
Yes that is the correct way to demo. However, with no surrounding structures, and a sound frame, it. is faster and easier to do it this way. We do not do all of them this way.
I figured that, I was just being critical since you are where I will strive to be some day. Hold your course steady on the path of success. Live long and prosper, godspeed to you my brother.
Message me on insta @lugawayjunkremoval or email me info@lugaway.com. There is a handful of factors that go into pricing these, i.e. how many men on site, size of the shed, access to the shed etc.
Mi 12x24 garage just got pushed over 3 weeks ago in hurricane zeta. I'm handicapped and can no longer do stuff like this. I posted online for estimates and didn't get one bit. I guess i will have to do it myself even if it means removing 30 feet of 2x4s a day. *sigh*
Demolition like we performed in this video gets priced by the square foot. Average cost, depending on your part of the country, is between $4 - $12 a square foot.
There is a handful of factors that go into pricing these, i.e. how many men on site, size of the shed, access to the shed, cost per ton etc. DM me on instagram if you need help with pricing.
@@SteveConroy1 yes it’s 65 per ton but it’s in the outskirts of austin then we have the central landfill for 120 minimum and then another outskirts for 90
How dramatic. You should be in possession of a voltmeter so that you don't have to risk "death" when dealing with the electrical aspect. See, having the resident kill their main breaker just inconveniences them, and you still don't have any more verification than you had already performed. Read the incoming line. It either has power or it doesn't. If it doesn't, do your thing. If it does, do what you need to until it doesn't.
JJ you gotta have a more positive attitude brother. It ended up being a full load. Figure out what the full load cost in your area is and thats your price! Tack on some labor as well. Everyone has their own system as to how they charge and what they charge for. Some would charge by the square foot for a job like this. If I charged someone $1k for this, that doesn't mean thats what it costs for everyone. That's just the number that makes sense for me to do the job.
Thank you. This is by far the best and safest way to demo the shed. I’ve had my 10x10 shed down and apart myself in a bit over 2 hours.
About to go quote my 1st shed removal job. Watching this video 1st thanks for the tips
