Wow! My brother had one as a kid. Being a younger brother I loved that toy and played with it whenever he wasn't around since it was his favorite car to play with and didn't allow me near it. This restoration is very well executed. You went even further by making the box for it as well. I had forgotten that one but when I saw the end result it came back to my memories. Compliments to you!

When the drawing for the rockets popped up on screen, my breath caught. Haven't seen one since 1979.

To be honest I always thought this was naff as a model, not a car but instead a sub.(and non-submersible!) so you couldn't zoom it. But one with real wheels! That flip up!! If I were a child again, I'd go for that.

They'd go everywhere and sometimes were hard to find under chairs and sofas lol, I then got given for Xmas, a larger version too... Had so many working craft, Space 1999 Eagle with centre section that could 'drop', UFO fighter with firing rocket from the nose, and loads more.... Oh, the 70's and early 80's.... These videos don't play, was looking forward to this, as a kid i owned about six or seven, I opened several to ft lights, i panted them to match the on screen version, possibly slightly obsessed.

Paul: I'm gonna restore a toy car.
    Us: Right on.
    Paul: It's a Lotus.
    Us: Sweet.
Paul: It's a James Bond car.
    Us: No way!
Paul: It has retractable fins to drive underwater and it shoots four missles.
    Us: Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!
Paul: I'm just gonna remake the full display box too.
    Us: 😲
