  • The Dimapur Town Nepali Baptist Church Duncan Women's Ministry hosted a joyous Thanksgiving Programme on August 11th, 2024, at 9:30 am. The event was themed "Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:20), which was beautifully exemplified throughout the programme.
The programme was chaired by Mrs. Lily Lotha, who expertly guided the proceedings with grace and warmth.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Pastor Rajen Thapa, who prayed for God's blessings and guidance throughout the programme. This was followed by a vibrant Praise & Worship session led by the Youth Ministry, which set the tone for a joyful and thankful celebration.
Mrs. Dilu Gurung, Women Pastor, DTNBC, delivered a powerful message emphasizing the importance of gratitude and encouraging the audience to reflect on their lives and give thanks to God for all His blessings. The message inspired the audience to reflect on their lives and thank God for His many blessings.
The worship was uplifting, and the fellowship was sweet. The presence of the Lord was felt throughout the service, and it was a wonderful time of connection and community. The audience was grateful for the opportunity to gather together and celebrate their faith.
The programme also featured holy passages read by Mr. Josiha Lotha (English) and Mrs. Nirmal Bhujal (Nepali), on the topic (Ephesians 5:20), which added depth and insight to the celebration. The Youth Ministry presented songs of praise, followed by the Women Ministry, and the DTNBC Duncan Father's Group presented a song of Praise. A special solo praise was also presented by Mr. Rohit Thapa.
The offering collection was led by the Youth Ushers Ministry, followed by an offering and tithes prayer led by Mr. Kamal Sharma, Youth Pastor. He prayed, "Dear Lord, we offer these gifts to you with grateful hearts, thanking you for your provision and blessings. Use them to further your kingdom and bless your people. Amen."
The closing hymn "Count your blessings" ("Ashish gana gana ekai-ek")(KB-304) was sung with enthusiasm and conviction, followed by a benediction prayer by Miss Sarah Gurung (Sunday School Teacher). She prayed, "May the blessings of the Lord rest upon you, and may you continue to give thanks to Him for all His goodness. May your lives be transformed by the power of gratitude, and may you always remember to give thanks to God in all circumstances. Go in peace, and may the love of Christ guide you. May you be filled with joy, peace, and hope, and may you always trust in God's goodness and love. Amen."
Overall, the Thanksgiving Programme was a wonderful celebration of faith, community, and gratitude. The audience left with full hearts, feeling blessed and inspired to continue giving thanks to God in all circumstances.
