Sorry to moan, but you really need to sort out the levels on these videos. The music is so loud compared to the talking it makes it have to listen to without constantly adjusting the volume.
Man, I started this video, went to the kitchen and made dinner, called my granny, took a bath, wrote and recorded a new synth pop song, watched all of the Harry Potter movies, came back, and you guys were still yapping. J.K. ;)
I got the MRX mini phase and comp and they are both amazing! Fantastic sound like the vintage ones with added versatility and such a small footprint. Nice demo, gave more Ideas on using these pedals. Thanks
I used to use my mxr eq pedal for a mid boost tube screamerery type pedal and would use it to do a mid scoop type pedal also. They really come in handy.
Great content as ever, nice to see the clean tones in the limelight! Pete, would you mind doing a lesson on the full version of your part at 9:58? It sounds so nice! Thanks to Andertons (and Friends) for continually putting out quality content
At the beginning, I was saying, "As much as I love slight overdrive, that's not exactly clean." And then they admitted it. I mean, IMO, that's the best sound, so I'm not complaining.
I'd love to see a video or really ambient effects. My current ambient "clean" tone is a slow phaser, a classic sounding chorus, a long delay, and a massive church reverb. But I'd like to hear what you guys can wrangle out of that type of setup.
Playing great, great sounds, great demo the 95 is a brilliant small footprint pedal - but please check voice levels to playing levels though, voices too quiet in relation to guitars - constantly have to alter volume.
NIHILISTLIVESMATTER not true. You could mike up a 1W Amp and it would be enough for the biggest stage there is. OR: go with a preamp à la Kemper, Atomic Amplifier and feed it directly to FOH. Pros use InEars anyway these days, nobody "uses" a fullstack anymore - that's just for the visual aspect.
You could mic up a ant farting & it would be 'loud' enough for the biggest stage, however Fernando asked if a 20 watt amp would be loud enough for a live gig, he didn't mention if a 1 watt amp & a 2000 watt PA would be loud enough, so it's fair to assume that's what he wasn't asking. & as he was asking that, it's not unreasonable to assume Fernando isn't about to tour stadiums in support of his platinum record So my post was ABSOLUTELY true, a blues junior, AC15 or similar is easily enough to play a small gig 20-30 people with an un-miced kit & small pa for the singer. As for the bit about Wembley, it was used to illustrate a point, thanks for being the pedantic know it all internet guy who isn't really making a useful contribution
NIHILISTLIVESMATTER thx for all the replys, im going to specify a little more my needs, i want a valve amp to play live and practice for with my band, want good distorted sound ;) im thinking a buguera g20, but some new advices for new amp are welcome (sry for my english cheers from spain)
Michael Kuntz they talked about for about 5 seconds about a 3rd into the video I'm not into fenders though I don't have anything against them ....I wish they would have played something with a humbucker also
Hmm... It's kinda weird that the EQ "colors" the sound at neutral. I'm not sure if I like that. It shouldn't really be that way, because that's just not what it should do. Besides, it immediately changes your default sound from nothing and you might not want that.
Dan says compressors are the overdrive for your clean sound :-) That Phase 95 is very cool. I find the new EQ's interesting in how much they affect the tone in the flat settings.
ZeugmaPowa . i have mentioned it before and Andertons still choose to use it without any warning to those with epilepsy. It is potentially a life threatening thing for some with epilepsy. If someone is watching the video in a bedroom, they can have a fit triggered by the intro and die swallowing their tongue.
I used to work as a DJ. That included using the lighting rig. The rules on strobe lighting was no more than 20 seconds as that was the recognised threshold for triggering seizures. The Andertons intro is way shorter than this so the chances of it triggering anything must be miniscule. And seriously the nanny state has already gone mental enough. There's warnings for everything. Eat this coz it's good for you oh actually don't coz actually we realised it's bad for you. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't eat red meat, don't breathe! I choose life. Rant over. Thanks.
Richard Huckle do you have photosensitive epilepsy or are you just making stuff up based on a minimal amount of knowledge? I don't think half a second of video is enough to induce a seizure.
"Need we say anything else, Mr. Pete?" Pete: "No, I don' think so" Wrong. You need to say that the ten band eq runs off 18v for some incredibly stupid reason. Hav fun carrying a wall wart to every gig.
This is just one more of many Andertons videos where the speaking volumes are too quiet when compared with the guitar volumes which are too loud. This is one of the worst. Frankly, I expect better post editing. Please rectify this, otherwise I'll have to shut off the videos with poor audio.
Pete's playing blows me away. he can do so many styles brilliantly.
Sorry to moan, but you really need to sort out the levels on these videos. The music is so loud compared to the talking it makes it have to listen to without constantly adjusting the volume.
I was just going to post the same suggestion! Turned up the volume to hear them speak and then was blown away when the guitar feed kicked in..
It's very annoying when videos are edited like this.
Ironic that the video with compressors has a big volume difference between voice mic volume and guitar volume ;)
Still a great video!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this.
Man, I started this video, went to the kitchen and made dinner, called my granny, took a bath, wrote and recorded a new synth pop song, watched all of the Harry Potter movies, came back, and you guys were still yapping. J.K. ;)
With the attack on the Dyna Comp gives the notes that Fender bite allowing it to have that single-coil bite with the humbucker sustain. Nice…
I got the MRX mini phase and comp and they are both amazing! Fantastic sound like the vintage ones with added versatility and such a small footprint. Nice demo, gave more Ideas on using these pedals. Thanks
I agree with Pete on the 6 band eq! straight across has something going on.. a good buffer circuit maybe? MOJO perhaps? nice! great playing as always!

Adam totally agree, would love to see that!!
wow that intro jam was something else
I got the 6 band eq last week and it's amazing, can make any rig sound just that lil bit better.
What about hiss? The boss eq has a lot.
@@contentconsumer487 nope, no hiss, old MXR 6 band had hiss/noise (the Blue one)
Man I could listen to you guys all day
Dyna comp seems nice! Speaking of Nile Rogers, I think he used a DBX rack compressor, closest to that in a pedal format Maxon CP -9 Pro.
Still trying to figure out what Bea did at 19:54 and why... Still... One of the greatest videos from you guys!
.... , it's the equivalent of fidgeting but on your guitar
Edo Todd Traverso he ran them in the cero posheish
Block adds a bit of distortion and a mid hump. It's more for distorted stuff. It gives it a nice lead boost.
Well im getting that MXR Dyna Comp Mini now
If these are all true bypass, the reason they all sound brighter when you turn them on could be because they are adding a buffer to the chain.
What's about mick ? we don't see him on video since several weeks ?
At the beginning, I was saying, "As much as I love slight overdrive, that's not exactly clean." And then they admitted it. I mean, IMO, that's the best sound, so I'm not complaining.
In such cases pls show us the set up on the AMP!!!! Are all cntrls at noon? Do you by pass the amp pre stage?
I'd love to see a video or really ambient effects. My current ambient "clean" tone is a slow phaser, a classic sounding chorus, a long delay, and a massive church reverb. But I'd like to hear what you guys can wrangle out of that type of setup.
Bloody Hell Rabea!!! Giving me goosebumps with tuhat playing!!!!Rock on mate \m/ :)
Oh btw, there seems to be an EQ that goes to 10, we will spend 1 of our 28 min demoing for ya.
Signed, Whiney Bastard 💪
EQ and compressor sales just went through the roof. I'll take two of each.
Great video guys!
Does the mini Dynacomp not make the constant rumbling racket that makes the bigger one completely useless?
love my phase 95. (the blue is 90 and red is 45 though Pete, you guys rock!)
I've had mine for a while and I still get the colour coding muddled up lol.
Rest In Peace headphone users. That intro almost killed me
James Florin ikr, it was amazing
Genuinely belly laughed when Rebea said avocado and I have no idea why I found it so funny 😂
I have a modern dyna comp in the normal size box and its quite noisey. How does the mini one compare noise level wise?
Playing great, great sounds, great demo the 95 is a brilliant small footprint pedal - but please check voice levels to playing levels though, voices too quiet in relation to guitars - constantly have to alter volume.
Pete with a Tenacious D reference... somehow that fits. ;)
The first demo on MXR Phase 95 was the 45 and then the 95 not the other way around.
Where's acoustic paradiso gone with Mick?
I think Mick isn't working for Andertons anymore, or is he?!
Gotta have the Phase95 now after hearing that 45 setting.
What are the chords pete is using to loop in the beginning?
When it comes to clean tones
I've got a Phase 45 block logo!!! They did actually made those ;)
it's the script circuit still
20 watts valve amp is enough for live rigs?
more than enough for a pub gig, maybe not wembley though
NIHILISTLIVESMATTER not true. You could mike up a 1W Amp and it would be enough for the biggest stage there is. OR: go with a preamp à la Kemper, Atomic Amplifier and feed it directly to FOH. Pros use InEars anyway these days, nobody "uses" a fullstack anymore - that's just for the visual aspect.
Jeff Beck uses a Fender Blues Junior - 15 watt.
& as he was asking that, it's not unreasonable to assume Fernando isn't about to tour stadiums in support of his platinum record

was the first eq on throughout?
i have a feeling at somepoint that well see a mini carbon copy delay pedal i hope we do then id get it
Not a bad guesser!
Rabea what is that guitar you are playing?
Michael Kuntz they talked about for about 5 seconds about a 3rd into the video I'm not into fenders though I don't have anything against them ....I wish they would have played something with a humbucker also
Custom Shop '54 Strat
Thanks

They didn't quite have all the knobs at the mid point, some of the left ones were off centre. Weird how that happened with the centre notch.
Sounds like nile rodgers vid =), also i think hes ginda unique as a funk guitarist in that he doesn't use compression in his rig as far as im aware
Finally playing something different
do you have avocados in England?
nicholas ditolla You would bloody hope so
Dan says compressors are the overdrive for your clean sound :-) That Phase 95 is very cool. I find the new EQ's interesting in how much they affect the tone in the flat settings.
Clean to the max, plays a solo with a dirty tone
Detent is the word you were searching for.
Pls can I try playing more ambient stuff
Can you get Pete to do a cab clone vs something else video for a laugh
Shit! now I've got to get these..............
I really like the style of the intro, but the flashing is causing me pain in the eyes. It may be dangerous for an epileptic person
Perhaps Andertons could use 5% of their ad revenue & host a disco for those who suffer from epilepsy,
I used to work as a DJ. Richard Huckle do you have photosensitive epilepsy or are you just making stuff up based on a minimal amount of knowledge? I don't think half a second of video is enough to induce a seizure.
Jack Beale i know someone with epilepsy who is highly affected by such flashing images. They have to avoid it.
That strat tho
"Need we say anything else, Mr. Pete?" Pete: "No, I don' think so"
Wrong. You need to say that the ten band eq runs off 18v for some incredibly stupid reason. Hav fun carrying a wall wart to every gig.
Dyno Compsognathus
THAT MXR 6 BAND MADE NOTHING SOUND BETTER,,,,,FLAT SOUNDED BEST..THE BOOST IS GREAT..PUT THAT BOOST CIRCUIT IN A VOLUME PEDAL..
Dammit, you guys are waking up my kids! I can't hear you talk and your guitars are so damn loud!
This is just one more of many Andertons videos where the speaking volumes are too quiet when compared with the guitar volumes which are too loud. This is one of the worst. Frankly, I expect better post editing. Please rectify this, otherwise I'll have to shut off the videos with poor audio.
So much Satch in this...
Fender fender fender
YAR
10th
get on with it already so much waste of time talking, I don't care about the history I just want hear if it sounds worthy of my dollars, YAP YAP YAP!
Clean tones nope .... still pushed.... all the phase demos just waisted, please give us some clean tones
Daniel Wilson I never play clean. That's kind of the point of a tube amp is slightly pushed sound.
#Early
