I actually thought when I first saw these pieces that it was an old spinning wheel, with missing pieces.

This is fantastic. This is a very nice solid wood chair that deserves new life. It's much better made than most cheap particle board crap made today. I wish everyone would think more about repair and less about throwing things away for new. Consumption is a bad habit.
