Under the macro lens the finishing of the enamel dial and the blued hands of the first Pitzmann looks very well made for the price they ask for, almost no imperfections.
Although South Korea is not known for watchmaking, my family is from Korea and I have my Korean pride, so it was really nice to see a good looking Seoul based watch maker like Pitzmann. Thank you for mentioning them.
My favorite
Well, until the 1970s S. Korea was a rural agricultural country mostly and within three decades it transformed into one of the leading producers of high-tech products in the world. I don't see why they shouldn't be able to manufacture watches to very high standards at an affordable price.
Well considering what they did on RUclips and aftermarket, I don't think they are trustworthy tbh.
@@jaekim2554pitzmann?
The Bel Canto would have fitted into this line up quite nicely.
These watches were really impressive for this objective.
Really impressed by the Furlan Marri and First Pitzmann.
Intrigued by the Atelier Wen.
Might add Christopher Ward Bel Canto in this collection?
I bought a Pitzmann on the basis of your previous review. Awesome watch. The only issue with the watch is the thickness. They could have sacrificed the 100m water resistance to make it thinner. But you can get it with a bracelet so the WR is potentially nice!
The Atelier Wen is impressive. Hand-made guilloche in a modern watch case. Cool bracelet, clasp, caseback. Really nice watch for the price!
Sell out too quickly to frequently, so money spent on other brands
Movement is crap(py) though...
@@randmacct636 all those are entry level watches. The movements are ETA/Sellita or clones at best (even the pricier option the Massena LE is listed at over $4000 with a Sellita). The worst one is the Furlan Marri with a Seiko mecaquartz inside. The value on the Atelier Wen comes from the craftsmanship which you will not find on any of the other options presented. You will not find hand-made guilloche at the < $3000 price point.
@@5amarillo5 The question is then - is that dial worth that much when the rest of the watch including movement kind of falls flat.
Reminds me that we also have an independent Guillocheur in Belgium: Bernie's Watches. He makes hand made dials as well.
Very good video but I think a great absent here it's Oris, great quality, independent small swiss watch manufacturer, they even develop their own movements and they sit at half the price of an Omega
Love my Oris Aquis
Love the hands on the Pitzmann
I really love all watches.
This is so hard I'd buy the Salmon dial. Spyro dial.
Its really my stuff but I love the whole list.
I'd buy any of these together before one rolex..
Tudour is way better smart.
Gosh if I was Successful I would buy these watches way before any premium brand.
My Atelier Wen will arrive in a few weeks. I am very curious.
How is your opinion? Thanks!
Loved all the watches you showcased. The last two my favourite ❤️
Thank you, a very nice selection of watches 👍
Quartz - cheap or dependable.
Bringing mechanical movements back was truly a marketing miracle
Best quality for the money? Grand Seiko. For less? Christopher Ward.
The Atelier Wen is magnificent.
Great video guys 👏
Andrew, Seoul is pronounced “Soul”, not “Soooool”.
Maen looks soooo nice
I wanna pre-order, but August is a long time to wait
Spirograph! Does anyone other than Andrew and me or is that “I” or me and Andrew or…oh forget it, what a Spirograph is? I’ve literally got one one the shelf in my office and it’s at least 55 years old. I love the vid and the references and nana’s curtains smelled like the smoke from nono’s hand rolled from a pouch cigs.
That is a very fine selection of watches.
I think Epos is often overlooked as a brand offering a lot of value. Especially if you want things like a guilloche dial.
Need more. Really impressive watches for the money
Maen and Pitzmann are the most impressive for me. Love them!
I love that MAEN.
The AW is impressive, but the MLE at the end looks like nothing I own, so it takes the win for me in terms of added value variety to my collection.
Great video 👍🏻
Call me the Watchfinder Video Finder since I'm so early
He arrives precisely when he means to ;)
It is written😊
I have spoken 💯
Can you compare the Furlan Marri Tasti Tondi to the homage Pagani Design PD-1739? They look extremely similar and both use the Seiko VK-64 mecha quartz movement
Does anyone know how easy it is to get the Atelier Wen serviced?
IMHO, the Maen and the Pitzmann are the quality/cost winners here (especially cost), but the last two are indeed very special. I have that exact Maen and it is terrific on wrist and aesthetically. I understand that the FM has been coveted and is a lovely watch but a couple of those macro shots highlighted slight dial flaws that were absent in the other pieces.
i've got one maen manhattan, and it's so beautiful on the wrist, particularly with a suit .
Beautiful watches.
There were some real beauties in this video, thanks!
All beautiful, but it’s the Pitzmann 1 for me 👏🏻
The regulator watch for me . 👌
I'm surprised you didn't include the Baltic MR01 that you have a super high positive opinion on.
I have a Chinese Lobinni Interlaken with running seconds at 6 , beautiful watch movement that's manual wind and can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back a thin rose gold case with a cream dial and applied indices, it sits on a brown alligator watch strap with deployment buckle..and is a real great quality watch for little money
Lol
This is a banger video.
Thank you for going back to the no face format ❤❤❤❤❤
definitely Louis Erard
Another great review. I came across a brand produced in Reykjavik Iceland. Maybe worth a review? The company is the JS Watch company
The dial from this luis erard here built for a 30k watch and i love it
Still, with 4k im running to buy a BB
the furlan is the exact same dial as longines heritage like exactly
super Attainable for elon musk
I like how virtually all brand names have been misspelled in the timestamps
I wonder if Corniche would fall into this category.
Good luck finding the Furlan Marri Havana Salmon for less than $1400 after mkt as it’s a sold out model ?
Pagani Design PD1753. (PRX powermatic 80 homage for $100)
Its a Maen ... maaan...
For what I am considering spending on a luxury watch, I could get the first four. Hmmm...
I have a very affordable Islander that is well made. Maybe not as stylish as these but a good bargain.
1 good watch is better than 4 mediocre ones.
Am I missing something with the obsession towards Furlan Marri?
For the money, I’d say Habring2.
Louis Erard is Swiss and sells hand guilloche watches for little over 4k. You even feature a LE watch in the video, you know the brand very well. So why say things like “the Swiss will set you back 10k for guilloche” when it’s obviously inaccurate?
Louis Erard is quite an outlier though, so except for that one, it's true. I'd even say that most Swiss guilloche watches priced at 10k uses stamped dials (even FPJ does), so I actually think he was generous with his 10k comparison.
When you think swiss hand guilloche, in general, you think Breguet which averages well over 10K. I love the art of hand guilloche so I bought the more affordable LE Guilloche Main. Great value/mesmerizing dial/swiss made.
5:15 heh "Sule" 😂
Jk such an amazing brand from South Korea m. Great seeing them here!
I'm just saying. Personally, I'd opt for a Damasko. Some models even have in-house movements.
I have a Damasko DA36 strap, Sinn 556i bracelet, Mk XVIII straps, and Stowa A straps (hey, if I am gonna talk, I better have some skins on the wall), they are all “tool watches” of varying pain points.
If it’s value, then yes, the Damasko is definitely gonna be worth the money. But it’s by far the least versatile.
I wear a DS30 as an every day watch and I really like the uncompromising aesthetic, the tech is impressive too. I'm very active outdoors and in the workshop so the 10mm thickness is greatly appreciated
Wow
Finishing on that Furlan Mari watch dial is terrible. Did anybody else notice the blobs of paint outside of the 20 on the 9:00 sub-dial? Sorry, that's an automatic pass, regardless of the price.
anyone has experience with kuoe watches? they look kinda nice but i did not find much about them :(
New.
Husband and wife team, very good reviews and above its price point.
@@KC-bv9kf thank you :D
I was curious about them, too.
Louis Erard. I could gorge on its gorgeousness…
Time to choose some different entry level watches, you've shown these many times.
The amount of dial blemishes on the furlan is ridiculous…
That Furlan Marri is SPICY 🔥🥵
The Louis Erard looks like a masterpiece..❤
Never been this early. Hi! :)
The Pitzmann is making me tick!
Maen.
More accurate than Chronometer certified luxury watches, whilst being both extremely thin, legible and a classic? Yeah f91w for the win
first watch looks like a sea-gull
If I’m going quartz I might as well just get a smart watch. Mechanical watches have a soul, and that’s why I like them.
not available so basically same as those very expensive
Just the AW and the MSL
Review some German watches sometime
The Atelier Wen dial seems painted to the final color. Observe the dial closeup. There are bubbles on the cut surfaces. The cutting tip can never leave that kind of feature.
I don't think so. $2,857.00

Why are Watchfinder shilling Furlan Marri but snubbing Dan Henry?
Because DH is like that guy that wear one label too many and you can tell that one or two items are discounted manufactured defects.
Gotta clean up those imperfections.
Look at how CW and Farer have improved and responded to their customers.
The answer to your question of quality for the money is easily answered. Grand Seiko offers the best quality at any price.
Yeah, and NOMOS.
Dufour thought so, too.
furlan marri is just an overpriced pagani design PD1739, same movement, same build, for like 100usd
Interesting that the movement shouldn't be considered as part of the quality equation... Not sure you're going to get a lot of agreement on that score.
Define quality.
NH35, SW-2xx-x, NH45, 4/6Rxx, and 28xx series can take beating and run for years with minimal upkeep, decades with minimal service costs. Sure their accuracy are hit n miss, but can be service anywhere with minimal costs.
Another argument is that watches are nothing more than validating (internal and/or external) jewelry for men. Therefore, finishing and exterior are primary concerns. Look at the phone for accuracy.
In my collection, the AP, ALS, and JlC have barely gotten any wrist time. Expensive to service and adjust. Neither is the old b/b 16710 because who cares…
But the sub 7 k are easy like Sunday morning.
So movements?!
@@KC-bv9kf Ok, so quality equals beater. Got it.
Like a British Lord once defended the quality of the Jag Type E, “but it looked magnificent” on the side of the road.
Quality has many variables.
For micros with interesting designs with good finishes that stand the test of time, then the movement just need to be reliable, predictable, good tolerances, and cost of service is proportional to purchase prices.
Look up the requirements to obtain the “Swiss made” label and then apply the meaning of quality.
@@KC-bv9kf Most Swiss-made pieces (not all) have much higher quality movements than anything found in China, so I'm not sure how the Jaguar analogy applies here. There are plenty of Swiss watches available at or below the prices of these micros, so your argument doesn't really carry much weight... Additionally, many of the micros use Swiss movements and brag about them in their marketing.
Furlan Marri - does not pass the macro police. Poorly finished dial...
You instantly see that Swiss are masters even at 4K. That Louis Erard is gorgeous. That Chinese model is utterly rough.
What exactly was rough. A hand crafted guilloche dial is not supposed to be smooth.
@@Ae073001
Really ? Then why is it smooth when the Swiss do it ?
@@theshadowman1398, a few points to consider. #1 The guilloché dial isn’t stamped or machined in any way, but rose engine turned by China’s sole guilloché Master Craftsman. This is an old school artisan way of doing this and is very rarely practiced anymore, even in Switzerland. If it is done, the watch will be in double figures. #2 - As mentioned in the video, the watch shown was not a production model, so it wasn't a finished product. The finished product is complete and more refined. #3 - Even with this watch not being a finished product it still looks fantastic and one would be hard pressed to find one like it.
The Perception is unique, good looking, features a handcrafted dial, and at a little more than $2K is to many a good deal. Swiss bias aside, this watch is a winner, and is very popular, proven by the fact that the first batch was sold out and the 2nd has a nice little waiting list.
Are these videos sponsored?
They are made by a company which sells watches..
@@richardbartlett6932 So? Sponsored as in are those companies paying to be featured like an ad
Probably not. They would have to disclose that if I'm not mistaken.
No.
Watchfinder is owned by Richemont (ALS, Cartier, JLC, IWC, BnM, Dunhill, OP, VC…), definitely not purveyors of micros.
The Atelier Wen is close to 3k Usd. Wonder how ridiculous their markup on this is.
I want luxury watches without stupid pricing. So for Oris, Christopher ward, nomos, and seiko come to mind.
Define luxury because Oris and Seiko are debatable.
CW can be.
NOMOS have great finishing, worth the extra cost for exhibition case back.
@@KC-bv9kf CW is no luxury. CW is a homage company, the British San Martin
As much as pizmann makes a good watches, they did some horrible things that made a lot of korean watch fans furious. So much so that despite being very few good watchmaker in Korea, Koreans dont really give them credit and they dont (or cant) do much of a marketing in Korea.
what did they do?
first
The only point of expensive watches is them to be expensive.
Nobody would bother with gold or diamonds if they were abundant.
Yes they would, gold doesn't corrode and diamonds are famously hard, they're both very useful only vanity over values them.
Diamonds are quite abundant. There is a cartel to make them expensive.
Ten past ten again and again - BORING!! I'm sick of seeing these videos. And who cares what the diameter of a watch is??? Just enjoy them.
The sunk indices on the aletier wen looks... bad. They should have raised them above the dial.
