I have the Lobinni and it is a nice watch IMO - it shows the possibilities of this movement. It is much bigger though. Don’t forget that Baltic can charge their price because the market agrees with it (otherwise it wouldn’t sell). Ordered! IMO Baltic have made a desirable watch (and brand) through great design choices. This is a 36mm watch, which retail-wise, just would not sell well if it were made by the bigger watch companies - they just would not make it. But there is a niche Baltic have found it seems to be doing well. There was a point you made about ‘made in Hong Kong but assembled in France’ - why is ‘French watch assembly and regulation’ better (respected?) than it’s Hong Kong/Chinese equivalent? If ‘Made in Japan” can become something of a laughing stock to one of the elite manufacturers in the span of 30-40 years - then surely an even larger nation can reach that standard even quicker. South Korean cars, for example, had to be sold at half the price and double the warranty periods of their european counterparts a few years ago but today the price difference is a lot closer. The bigger amount of watchmakers in the world, the larger amount of competition there will be - for consumers this only be a good thing

@@bronx_xu2653 Right. I wasn’t making a quality judgement. I’m just pointing out that people who think their watch is all or mostly Swiss (or German) have been deceived, at least at the lower price points, like under $2k.
Usually your reviews are of watches beyond my means. This time however, you’ve picked a brand which I already own. I have a Bicompax 002 Chronograph with the Sea Gull column wheel movement. To my eye, the movement is the best part of this watch, It’s very nicely decorated particularly for a watch at this price. Unfortunately I can’t say that for the rest of the watch. The dial is nice, but nothing special, and the gilt hands look, well, cheap. The case is not impressive either. I never really bonded with this watch and it’s been up for sale for sometime. And that’s the other problem, they are rather high priced for the overall quality and it looks like I may have to take a beating on it to sell it. In all honesty this is probably true of most micro brands. Thanks for your review. I haven’t seen this watch you’re reviewing and maybe it’s a nicer piece in the flesh than mine. Regardless I do enjoy your reviews and your commentary. Keep up the good work.
Love it and also considered paying 3x as much as retail. Stunning watch and thankfully the second batch has been released. Baltic’s HMS is also a “good looking cheap watch”. I think you’re right by saying that Baltic are in it for the long haul. I do hope they are.
Andrew, your exceptional narration always makes the various watches really shine. Well done good sir. Please complement the person that does the videos on the watches as well. The Baltic dial numbers look a bit too garish for my tastes, but still I have to admit the watch really does look good. Cheers from Texas!
Unfortunately, the acrylic case was manufactured in HK, since plastics made there will experience the swelling phenomenon, where water molecules will seep into it during production. Result, is the product will experience poor material properties over time, when the water eventually evaporates in more arid climated countries.
Would love a video on how you make your videos, you must have a 1 RPM turntable, macro lenses, and amazing lighting. The quality and craftsmanship is remarkable. Thanks.
Great presentation as usual. The movement is unique. I prefer larger watches but I own a Gladstone manual that resembles its shape & size complete with a hesalite crystal hmmm 🤔. I’m not running away from it but it appears that the window of opportunity has closed.
It is a great looking watch but I think it is a bit overpriced and overhyped. I have a watch with the same movement, sapphire crystal, great quality finishing just like on this Baltic but it goes for less than half of this one.
Love the look of this watch and probably would of purchased but the 36mm worries me. Can't try before you buy so not taking the risk. Had it been 38/40 I'd have pulled the trigger
While I like some of your videos, I often find myself trying to clean my screen when watching them as there seems to be dust almost everywhere. I am not sure how to put this to you, but you should either clean the watches you present, clean your lens or give up on selling: dust is not what you expect to see in a watch ...
hmmm... pretty... however... Got a query for anyone out there, and please excuse if it's been asked before..: When I look at the dial, why do my eyes keep wanting to revolve clockwise..? Uncomfortable. not a fan of the numeral typeface
That's an amazing little watch. If it said Patek on the dial instead of Baltic, you could move the decimal point in the asking price a couple of zeros to the right.
Yeah..... No. Anyone who knows anything about luxury watches would take one look at this watch and laugh at a $65000 price tag on this watch. In the macro shots you can see dirt and oil all over the movement, as well as a fiber under the glass. There would be riots outside the Patek factory if they released such a shitty watch. You can buy watches with the exact same movement on aliexpress for like $120.
@@dandc2011 I'm talking about the overall design aesthetic - the way it looks, its proportions, the use of a micro rotor, the colour choices, the textured dial, choice of applicate Arabic numerals. Yes, if it was a genuine Patek, it'd be far cleaner with infinitely better finishing, probably in precious metals - but as it is, the overall design looks like it "could" have come from Patek.
That music at 1:30 had me confused. I thought another video was playing on my phone in sync with yours. It threw me off because I would've never thought you'd listen to stuff like that. I picture you as a Classical Music kinda guy. 😂
Seriously Mr Talikng Hands, now look at the Lobini 1888. Same movement, 39mm, 8.5mm thickness (thinnest point), domed sapphire crystal, same numerals, same hands but with a centre cut out, and IMHO a truly beautiful watch, plus you get the date complication…£150 from Ali Express. Go on, tell me it’s not a better deal, I dare you 😉
The watch movement surprised me. There are several models of watches in the sub $1000 range. I own one The Green Seiko Alpininst. The watch keeps great time. I only had the feeling that the movement could have been better. It runs well but Seiko and others say it is a mass movement. In other words nothing special. Seiko putting the same movement in the Alpininst GMT, this time $1000. I have been eyeing the Wise Damascus steel watch. The movement is another medium movement watch. But the Baltic watch movement has caught my eye. Most of my wristwatches are vintage Omegas. I may consider the Baltic.
It has very beautiful engraving patterns on bridges. I wonder do they literally have artisan sitting behind rose engine and making guilloche or it is more automatized process, like CNC engraving that today can look really authentic in imitating guilloche pattern. It would surprise me if there is a lot of handmaking involved knowing labor cost in Hong Kong and price of this watch. You know anything about their production process?
Absolutely no chance it was hand done. Not necessarily a bad thing, as you note, automated engraving has come on leaps and bounds. But if you had an artisan decorated movement and this side by side, I think you'd tell immediately.
Hello, love your videos! As a engineer and thus skeleton watch enthousiast I love you to have your opinion on code 41 watches (mainly the X41) which I believe are quite good for the price, and more than swiss made ;)
They did an awesome awesome job with these dials. No wonder these are sold out. I want to nitpick a little though. The Bezel is too flat. I would prefer a slightly steeper angle, a step or a concave or convex shape to it. The lug width looks proportionally a bit too wide. The movement decoration is fun on first glance but on further inspection, the finishing isn't as clean as a swiss movement in the same price category.
The vintage look of this watch is beautiful and the dial is kinda different of the other watches cause it has texture that is so amazing that give its more beautiful look of it.❣ The movement is fascinating too 👏👌
Six minutes into the video and I was finding that movement utterly familiar. The finishing, the regulating organ, that micro rotor... Aha! I'm wearing a watch with that exact same movement! The Hangzhou 5000A, beating at 28,000bph if I'm not mistaken. Mine has a date window at 3 tho.

It is a pretty watch but the Crystal and movement do not warrant the price. This should be around $400-$500 usd.
@@adlzag1290 People who don’t understand Plexi on a watch like this really shouldn’t comment, because they simply don’t get it.
Doesn't this actually speak to the quality of the Made in China parts, and how it's all just a double standard?
@@bronx_xu2653 Right. I wasn’t making a quality judgement. I’m just pointing out that people who think their watch is all or mostly Swiss (or German) have been deceived, at least at the lower price points, like under $2k.
Beautiful watch but disappointed that it has acrylic instead of sapphire.
How much did you get for this from the Chinese??
I'm really sorry, I hope the best
The surface finishes on the dial are a delight to look at .
Love it and also considered paying 3x as much as retail. Stunning watch and thankfully the second batch has been released. Baltic’s HMS is also a “good looking cheap watch”. I think you’re right by saying that Baltic are in it for the long haul. I do hope they are.
This is a very nice piece. A beautiful design and superb finishings for the price. Great job Baltic!
I think I see dirt or smudges on top of the balance wheel. Am I right?
I´m in the "September 2022" Bracket. Blue on a bracelet. an absolute stunner for 720€.
I think everyone is for September, mine is salmon on green!
It use a very cheep Chines cal. these kind of watches are usually sold under 200USD in China
I am not sure how to put this to you, but you should either clean the watches you present, clean your lens or give up on selling: dust is not what you expect to see in a watch ...
hmmm... pretty...
however...
Got a query for anyone out there, and please excuse if it's been asked before..:
When I look at the dial, why do my eyes keep wanting to revolve clockwise..?
Uncomfortable.
not a fan of the numeral typeface
Wow love those polished metal numbers and that amazing dial for 650 is a bargain! That movement is very nice for the price!
Oxymoron!? What about "almost timeless" at 2:26?
Excellent review as always.
Thanks.
That music at 1:30 had me confused. I thought another video was playing on my phone in sync with yours. It threw me off because I would've never thought you'd listen to stuff like that. I picture you as a Classical Music kinda guy. 😂
Could you please do a full review on:
TAG HEUER CARRERA Automatic Chronograph - Diameter 42mm CBN2012.FC6483
Best watch reviews with no competition on this globe. Keep going!
Go on, tell me it’s not a better deal, I dare you 😉
Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean
i got the salmon dial MERKUR top hill series manual wind with beads of rice from alison. so far so good
Can't get past the font used for the minute markers though.
I don't get the design choice of dividing the minute track into 1/5ths when it's not a three hander.
Hamilton 940 i was carrying was superb at timekeeping. For weeks it would only differ maybe 10 seconds. Its an 18s size pocket watch made in 1908.
Dial looks great but Chinese made corners are always cut. Would rather spend a little more on a nice German watch, American, Japanese or Swiss.
Is there a 40 mm version? Would be great.
I just pre-order the watch and your video popped up. Talk about timing and I am even more excited to get it after seeing this video.
An advert for this exact watch just popped up on my Facebook feed
Please more about BALTIC, great!
I don't get this watch, 36mm, acrylic dial and Chinese movement.
The watch movement surprised me. There are several models of watches in the sub $1000 range. I own one
The Green Seiko Alpininst.
Second time watching this video, while I wait for the delivery of the piece I ordered as soon as I watched it the first time.
It has very beautiful engraving patterns on bridges. I wonder do they literally have artisan sitting behind rose engine and making guilloche or it is more automatized process,
like CNC engraving that today can look really authentic in imitating guilloche pattern.
I really like it, but the Seiko Alpnist (spb159) has more to offer with a similar dial.. although not quite as good looking as this.
Hello, love your videos! As a engineer and thus skeleton watch enthousiast I love you to have your opinion on code 41 watches (mainly the X41) which I believe are quite good for the price, and more than swiss made ;)
Wow, some pretty cool looking watches. I think that salmon colored Baltic was gorgeous.
Did Baltic pay for this?
gorgeous. Love the micro-rotor and dial design.
Agreed! I rekon I will be staying away until they make another model; I do believe it will happen, just be patient.
This or the Tissot Prx?
can you do a small thought or review on the omega 50th anniversary gmt
I just ordered one of these (in salmon) last week. Cant wait.
Could you feature a zenith pilot type 20 extra special?
Please do a review for Marole & Wood’s Classic series type 01-A kickstarter edition, cheers!
Please review the Christopher Ward in house movement-powered 'Abyss' or 'Concept'?
Such an amazing piece let down by the unsigned crown & lack of sapphire crystal. Surely that's such a tiny cost compared to a microrotor movement?
Baltic is freaking killing it
Tissot can give you something for the same money, but this is different and beautiful.
that subdial positioning is weird but it's still a nice watch
Beautiful watch, thank you for the nice review, Watchfinder
It would be great to see the Seiko SNR045 and SNR049. Both seiko branded with spring drive, but not grand seiko. Both beautiful watches.
36 mm is such a beautiful case diameter !! Love it
4:20-ah damn, could've been in sync
$650 watch : *exists*
