I hesitated so much after reading so many bad reviews, and being one of those people that really enjoyed his previous books. But I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. I was hooked from the beginning. The writing felt like it was made for me. It spoke to me on so many levels. I haven’t finished it yet, so I can’t speak about the conclusion, but the road so far has been amazing. Thanks for your review. 👏
I loved the Silent Patient. Gave it 5 stars. Just finished The Fury and so disappointed! 3.5 at best. I knew the twist so early on. It was enjoyable, but I think it's a very forgettable story. Thank you for your review!
Just finished this one and LOVED it so much that I gave it a 5 star review! Completely agree with all of your points. I’m sooo surprised this book is getting a lot of mixed reviews.
Spoilers ahead ❌ Can someone explain the ending to me ? Like he says he didn’t make it out alive from the island and noone did but then how did he meet mariana and write the story which we are reading ?
He says he can only write one story (this book) & plans for it to be published posthumously. In fact, he tells us, if we are reading it he must be dead for it to have been published. He didn’t make it “out” live (he doesn’t say off the island). As he points out, in the end, none of us make it out alive - we all die.
@@ryreadsI'm reading the finished version right now but would love to know more about his changing the ending. Do you have a link to where he said that? Thank you! New subscriber here. I've just found your channel from this video!
Thanks so much!! and I don't a friend of mine went to one of his book signings and he said it to her there so no evidence at this time except to read the publication because we read the netgalley ARC stay tuned for more information. @@-SummerSong
I gave 5 stars to silent patient, 3 stars for the maidens. The fury didn't excite me because stories about a group of individuals being stranded on the island are too many nowadays. Maybe I will give this a try even though the maidens felt very flat to me in the end
The book tropes of people stranded on an island and getting murder with crappy relationships has been used so many times in recent years. I am reading never lie by Freida McFadden. Popcorn thrillers but really page turners
I’m excited for The Fury now! I absolutely loved, The Silent Patient, but did not love, The Maidens. But I can only imagine being a therapist and how writers portray them in books..I’m sure it’s very cringeworthy. My husband is ex military and he says anything written about military or portrayed in movies just drives him crazy, because it is so not done right!😂🤦♀️

Very fair review from yourself! love to hear differing opinions and how some books work for others. Sounds like we may be anti-reading twins ;)

I’m so glad you enjoyed!!! And for the same reasons!!
Didn’t understand the last part . He said he didn’t made it out alive noone did then how did he meet mariana and write the story ? 🥴
Just finished this book today! Have to say I saw some of the twists coming but the end was just an aww!
Did you enjoy it?

Just finished this last night! I gave it 3 stars because the ending was so bonkers. Overall I liked it!

I would love to help you but I read an ARC and apparently he changed the ending so I’ll need to read it again 👀

I DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE ENDING WHATSOEVER...TF DID I READ?

It is about a group on an island but it’s more about crappy relationship dynamics falling apart 😂

@@chenkeith7272 sounds like The Fury isn't a book you would enjoy.
i’m so excitedddd for the fury!! i just got an arc yesterday
Yesss!!!! I hope you enjoy it! It’s fun!!
Well this is encouraging. I was not impressed with The Silent Patient. The Maidens annoyed me. The Fury is my third and last try for this author.
I am so curious what you will think, either way! If you think of it come back and let me know!!
I have it coming in the mail soon!!! I also got a membership on book of the month subscription paid by my brother in law! Yay us ❤
so exciting!!! what a kind gift!! I hope you enjoy the Fury :)
