  • Here is the Learning To Fly soundcheck, very interesting video, with professional footage, parts of this appeared in an MTV special, but complete I don't remember ever seeing it.
    Thanks to J.A. who provided the video and JohnnyAirbag.

    Every time I hear a version of this, Tim Renwick plays something new and interesting during his solos.

      well said- he's such a clever guitarist; never does the predictable

      Tim is such a joy to listen to. I have recordings of all 110 Learning to Fly's Tim did in 1994 and they are all amazing. Even on a bad night he sounds great.

    interesting to see the division of labour among the 3 members & the rest of the 'backing' band. It's a lot clearer "who plays what" in a soundcheck clip.

      They never needed second guitar drums and keyboards for huge tours like Darkside, Wish you were here, Animals. At some point I wonder how that happens and why.

      @@johnmarano6588 Mainly in my opinion because over the years they became more and more perfectionists, and tried to recreate the sound of their records on stage live.
      Already with In The Flesh Tour (1977) they had a second guitarist, and from that tour they stopped rehearsing their records live before recording them in the studio.

      @@johnmarano6588 Dick Parry and Snowy White were added to the 1977 Animals “In The Flesh” tour as additional keyboardist and second guitarist.

    I think Gilmour had his guitar turned up to twice the volume of everybody else. Exactly how it should be

    • @alessandrolibero0401
      @alessandrolibero0401 7 месяцев назад

      Everybody on stage had their own monitors on the floor and each player had a different mix on them, based on their own preferences.
      You can hear David's guitar at a high volume only when the camera is near him. Probably, when playing live, he likes to hear his own instrument really clearly

    Этот чувак с сигаретой сильный. Разбавляет своими солягами это болото :)
    Но курить на сцене - нельзя … не дай бог пожар … люди могут пострадать. Мог бы и потерпеть, песня пять минут идёт … отыграл и кури на здоровье 😬😎😂😂😂

      No veo dos baterías, sino una batería y una percusión. Si escuchas (o ves cómo tocan en vivo) la canción te darás cuenta que además de la batería tiene mucha percusión
