As a dubstep/EDM producer, I'm thrilled that you dig Fat Boy Slim, The Prodigy, and Daft Punk... I'd love if you could react to an "older" dance track that still slays to this day, "Pump Up the Volume" by Marrs... I'm sure you'll know it immediately, but I bet it'll still get you movin'.... Keep up the fun reactions, you two... Have a great day!
When i was living in Hove (near Brighton) Norman had a big house on the seafront, just a couple of streets away from me - and I went to the second free party on Brighton Beach that he hosted - it was huge, with thousands of people dancing on the beach Im sure there is footage of it on youtube - Big Beach Boutique II (July 2002) - apparently it attracted over 250,000 people !!
Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook came from an earlier 80s band called the Housemartins where he played bass. You couldn't get a more contrasting sound to Fatboy Slim but they were very good. Their most popular song is probably Happy Hour which is fun but they done much better with songs such as The People Who Grinned Themselves To Death or I Smell Winter if you'd like to check them out. Paul Heaton, lead singer went on to form The Beautiful South who done a barrell load of great songs!
Fatboy Slim was my jam in the late 90s early 2000s when raves were still underground and fun! This song always makes me think of the flash mob from the movie She’s all that
The guitar sample that serves as the melody for this was a track called 'Sliced Tomatoes' by the Just Brothers; used to be a scene of sorts in the northern part of England called 'Northern Soul' that specifically had DJs going to America and rooting around record stores for obscure R&B records, and this was one of the songs that found new popularity over there-- as a suggestion, check out Gloria Jones' "Tainted Love." I'd like to second the suggestion on 'Weapon of Choice,' and add that Fatboy Slim's "Bird of Prey' is a trip.
Hell, if you're wanting more electronica, especially with a groove, check out Mr Scruff-- "Get a Move On" got everybody's attention, "Kalimba" is one of those songs you've heard everywhere but never knew the name of, and "Hairy Bumbercress" always gets played when I'm in my workshop.
@@josheldridge8546 Sliced Tomatoes is a fantastic instrumental and I would love to be lucky enough to own an original record on the Lupine label, been looking for one for years, but as you say a bit of an anomaly on the scene and also an anomaly for the Just Brothers who were mainly a vocal group.
Actually Fatboy Slim did once a Remix for the Beastie Boys song “Body Movin’”. The Beastie Boys video for this song features the remix, not the original version. It is a great video and a great remix, so you may want to react to this as well.
I remember when this came out, it blew my mind. I was just a kid, but I knew what sampling was and was fascinated by the idea of making music out of music, and I had probably never (knowingly, anyway) heard such dense layering of so many different samples, and I could tell this must have been a lot of work to get everything to fit together. And this was after Fatboy Slim's remix of "Renegade Master" came out, which was also nuts.
Hello guys I love your reactions a lot and i would love for you guys to check out the Band Bathory. They were one of the bands who started the Black Metal genre and Viking metal later.A song you guys can listen to is A Fine Day to Die for Viking, and Call from the Grave for the black metal.I like y’all reactions so much🤘🏻
Your reaction to this one was super fun. I've owned the album Rockafeller Skank is from for a couple of decades but I don't think I'd ever seen the video! I'd love to see you guys react to the track Frontier Psychiatrist by Australian electronic music group The Avalanches. The video is quite a trip!
I miss owning this album!! So many songs from this are still to this day used in commercials and movies!!! And Eminem says nobody listens to techno! Lol that's a joke, not many people do in America, but still, wasn't aimed it these guys, but Everytime I here that song I say I do!! Not very often, but I do!! Lol
Crystal Method "Trip Like I Do" is one I forget until it comes on. LoFidelity Allstars "Battleflag" is another. LOVE those two! They do say every girl has at least one song that turns her into a stripper, and I remember these working up a whole room lol. OH and I almost forgot (if you haven't heard it yet) Ozzy, ODB, DMX, and I believe it's Fuzzbubble "Nowhere to Run" is great.
Fatboy Slim had a UK number 1 with "Praise You" which prominently sampled from "Take Yo' Praise" by Camille Yarborough from 1973 which is as unlikely a song as you could imagine being used by him. When her label contacted Yarborough about it she asked "What's a sample? I've never heard of that"
Great video as always. If you haven't already, could I request you do "Star Guitar" by the Chemical Brothers. You need the official video, for its visual reresentation of the music.
Look up anytime Fatboy Slim dropped a set at Brighton Beach. Those are always his best mixes. He is a good producer but his real skill is on the 1's n 2's.
conor mcgregor used to call nate diaz a fat skinny guy- also that breakdown when it gets slow and then fast WITH the video is awesome - i occasionally watch this video just for that part- it isn't the same just hearing it
Weapon of Choice next. Or, if you want a hella up-beat crazy song with a hilarious music video: Push the tempo. Look for a recent upload cause the top hits are ancient and have horrible audio quality. Both of those songs are awesome. Christopher Walken is in the Weapon of Choice video.
I believe that if this were created at any time before machines and electricity and consistent frequency hum as a basis, this would be the greatest song ever created.!!Ever. It’s crazy how timelines affect the outcome of an idea/ ideas.
Dudes you've slept on something hard. Y'all NEED to do Kasey Chambers covering Lose Yourself by Eminem. One of those covers that shows you just how versatile music is. Won't regret it. Go go go.
For reference, a skank is either a person without any sexual inhibition or if you rip someone off for drugs. Not entirely sure which this one is but still a banger…❤
Ooo, I forgot about this one. Nice one! On or off video, check out Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim. Christopher Walken is in that video.
I was just going to say Weapon of Choice! Walken bringing his A game!

Fatboy is one guy called Norman Cook from Brighton in the UK.
When i was living in Hove (near Brighton) Norman had a big house on the seafront, just a couple of streets away from me - and I went to the second free party on Brighton Beach that he hosted - it was huge, with thousands of people dancing on the beach

Used to be the bass player for the band The House Martins.

Love both Housemartins and Beautiful South!
And Freakpower.
The Genre was known as "Big beat" at the time. Norman Cook/Fatboy Slim really pioneered and popularised the sound.
The Chemical Brothers were right up there with Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy in the late 90's UK.
Hey Girl.... Hey Boy.... Superstar DJs HERE WE Go........🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Fatboy Slim was my jam in the late 90s early 2000s when raves were still underground and fun! This song always makes me think of the flash mob from the movie She’s all that
Fun Fact: In 2022, Rolling Stone ranked "The Rockafeller Skank" at #199 on their list of the 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time.
Skank in this context is the dance and rhythm associated with ska or twotone music.
Back to the 90s- fun!!
I absolutely have to add this song to my workout playlist. This song would give me hyped up.😊
The guy that is on the decks is Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook
Gotta do "Weapon of Choice" now. One of the best videos EVER.
The guitar sample that serves as the melody for this was a track called 'Sliced Tomatoes' by the Just Brothers; used to be a scene of sorts in the northern part of England called 'Northern Soul' that specifically had DJs going to America and rooting around record stores for obscure R&B records, and this was one of the songs that found new popularity over there-- as a suggestion, check out Gloria Jones' "Tainted Love."

Or better still check out the Just Brothers - Carlena for a more representative song of Northern.
@@spacehopper77 oh yeah, sliced tomatoes was certainly an anomaly within the scene that really dug the old r&b four-bangers.
Fatboy Slim is still performing today and doing DJ sets on festivals.
I know!! I’m going to see him in country Australia in March!! So excited ❤❤❤
Boy,that's a blast from the past!👍👍👍
Lmao. Why did I think this was Weapon of Choice?! Love them both 😂🔥🤘
Morning, guys! That was fun to watch y'all get into that song. Lol! Kool video.
Daamn, haven't heard that song in forever! Perfect for a Friday!

I was always jamin to this song back in the day.😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 this song RULES. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
this whole album was so popular, so well rounded and so upbeat that it was run on repeat in some bars.

Tune! Weapon Of Choice is also a banger.
Great video
This just brought me back 20 some odd years lol
one of my favorites
I first heard this song on the soundtrack of the Digimon movie.

Fatboy slim is just 1 guy! Awesome.
If you've never seen the Praise You video, that one's gotta be next
*FIFA 99 Theme song
This is a fkin Jam , when i need a groove .

If you like this you may also like SL2 and "On A Ragga Tip", and for a superb version of The Beatles "Taxman" ,try the band Rootjoose.
Norman Cook/Fatboy Slim really had his finger on the pulse of the 90s.
Oh boy, need to play FIFA 99 😁
Ramstein! Hahah 🤘🏻🇺🇸💚

Well, I always thought the lyrics were " the funk's your brother " 😂😂😂😂
Here's a suggestion: O'funk'illo - Nos vamos pal kely. Dead funky lots of rap. My favourite Spanish band.
Please check out "Butterscotch Biscuits" by the Australian band "DREGG" 🔥🔥🔥
Fat Boy Slim aka Norman Cook the bass player from the Housemartins
Moby was around this time too.
Still a great DJ to this day
conor mcgregor used to call nate diaz a fat skinny guy- also that breakdown when it gets slow and then fast WITH the video is awesome - i occasionally watch this video just for that part- it isn't the same just hearing it

"Satisfaction" (cover) by Fat Boy Slim is awesome
🔥🔥🔥🕺💃🧚♀️🥂😎
For legal reasons, it made an impact on society
Always loved Talkin' 'Bout My Baby by Fatboy Slim. If you'd like an alternative to the Weapon of Choice suggestions (which is also great)
Dudes you've slept on something hard. Y'all NEED to do Kasey Chambers covering Lose Yourself by Eminem. One of those covers that shows you just how versatile music is. Won't regret it. Go go go.
💜
For reference, a skank is either a person without any sexual inhibition or if you rip someone off for drugs. Not entirely sure which this one is but still a banger…❤
Neither. It’s a style of dancing associated with reggae.
Fatboy Slim is just 1 person... it's a pseudonym
😁😁😁
Please react to the Propellerheads - Take California
Teddybears- Cobrastyle
