Yayyyy thank you guys so much 😊 This is literally one of my two favorite songs ever. And yes Ok Computer is amazing all around… one of my “deserted island” albums Thank you for the birthday wishes!! What a wonderful present 😊❤️🤘🏽❤️✌🏽
I'm a metal guy predominantly and this is a regular listen, I heard this one on one of the NOW compilations we have here in the UK when I was 10/11 and loved it immediately
So Paranoid Android is a reference to my favorite book... The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Marvin The Paranoid Android is one of the greatest pessimist to ever be written. Also Paranoid Android is a ROM for rooted Android phones.
@Vanessa B. I don't think he was, however the book is a must. I have the one with all 6 books in one. Some of the funniest writing ever. Person 1- it is unpleasantly like being drunk Person 2- whats so unpleasant about being drunk Person 1- ask a glass of water Pure genius
Be prepared guys....OK Computer actually needs a full Album review....it just might be the best Album of the '90s....and that in a decade stacked with amazing Bands!!!!
Agreed. There are a few albums from this era that are on my all time list, and OK Computer is one of em. Smashing Pumpkin's Siamese Dream, as well as Red Hot Chili Pepper's Blood Sugar Sex Magik being a few others...
@@voidwraithprime8521 don't forget about Faith no More's "Angel Dust" or Tool's "Aenema"....well...guess there are just too many we could be mentioning....
This album was literally my life when it came out in the 90’s. A decade where music was important.....it meant something, full of hip-hop and grunge, shit sounded rough and dirty....and suddenly this band emerges with a singer that sounds like a fuckin angel.
Exit music for a film is another amazing piece of music on this album. If you don’t do the full album review you should def do that track next!! Great reaction guys 👏
Saw them live at msg in 2018. I knew what song was what due to watching all their live performances, but the fact they they played an entire body of work 4 nights straight was just amazing.
Radiohead are truly an international band too. This song was used as the ending theme of the anime Ergo Proxy, and it fit the theme and tone of the show perfectly.
Thoms vocal style was influenced by the great Jeff Buckley. He saw Jeff live and then went and wrote Fake Plastic Trees. He said that hearing Jeff gave him permission to use his voice to emote. Check out Jeff if you can, a very talented man who died far too soon. Jeff influenced Muse too.
One of the most complex and best songs of all time. Glad to see you appreciated the content and the high class in it. It’s not for everyone. Lots of reactions online don’t get the sheer quality and broadness of creativity and remain stuck at the “depressing” side of it missing the bigger picture.
I'd recommend Pyramid Song to get another flavor of Radiohead. While all Radiohead sounds like Radiohead, each song is its own immersive distinct experience. No band comes close to Radiohead IMO. They are the Beatles of our generation and its worth exploring their whole massive catalogue on your own free time. Smoke a J and listen to Kid A. I dare you.
Finally someone who speaks out what I keep saying for years now: they are The Beatles of our generation. And that is no exaggeration or a bad comparison. The creativity, the versatility, the evolution in their music, the musicianship itself, the marketing and production aspects and the sheer genius of both bands are outstanding both in their own times. I highly recommend listening to Fake Plastic Trees, There There, How To Disappear Completely and Exit Music (For a Film). Thank you.
If you haven't seen a live performance of this yet you have *got* to see Paranoid Android live on Jools Holland in 1997. it's on youtube and it gives me chills every single time I watch it. That and Creep live in Landgraaf from 1996)
You're right about it being like 4 different songs, it is a composition of 3 different songs written by the band, the original recording was something like 14 minutes long!
Y'all should check out "Street Spirit (Fade Out)". It's all mellow, and will be stuck in your head for days afterwards. The guitar in it is just... beyond words.
This song is such a masterpiece. So many twists and turns but it has such a wonderful flow to it. Unlike anything that was ever done before it. Thom Yorke is the man
Guys that's the best reaction to this song i have seen, and I've seen a lot! Your reactions were genuine, informed, spontaneous and YOU DIDNT STOP THE SONG!👍
"Gotta love RadioHead" yes you do In 2005 I sat in the parking lot at Red Rocks through an entire afternoon and listened to their entire show as they practiced then saw the show. One of the best experiences ever. Love your comments.
A great example of Radiohead using lyrics as food for thought. What matters most is what the listener thinks, not what the person who wrote the lyrics was trying to convey.
Ok dudes. You know I love you guys. I'm just getting to this now after finishing watching my England lads get beaten by Italy in the Euro football (or Soccer as you guys say) finals. You couldn't have picked a better song for my mood now. Radiohead have always helped me get through tough times. One of the greatest bands on the planet. The whole "OK Computer" album as I'm sure many of the Trash Talkers have already said is a masterpiece. I wanted to comment first before hearing what you guys think. To me it's like Radiohead's "Dark Side Of The Moon". It's an album that should be listened to as a whole as you get the best overall effect of the underlying theme and tone of the general album concept. It's an incredible piece of work that has aged like a fine wine. Peace and love dudes! :)
The structure of this song was partly based off Happiness is a Warm Gun. Three different parts. Plus they threw some Queen and a little Pixies in there. Love this album.
My late father used to work in a well known mental health hospital in the UK and met the lead singer of Radiohead there as he was sectioned in the hospital for a few years. The reason he has so much soul and grit to his voice is the fact that he means and feels every single depressing lyric. He lived through scitzphrenia and much more. Amazing artist.
Radiohead’s always been one of my favorite bands, from the song Creep in 1993 up to now. Thom Yorke’s voice makes every song he sings in. UNKLE featuring Thom Yorke with the song Rabbit in your Headlights is one of those songs. Just like how the video for Paranoid Android is distracting, so is the video for this song. Listen to the track first, hopefully you guys can react to it, then check out the video. It’s like a movie. Thanks and ✌️
Ok Computer is one of those albums that is OK when you listen to an idividual song, but it is a fucking amazing album when listened to in it's entirity

Fake plastic trees, Just, High and Dry, Exit Music, No Surprises. Probably the closest the 90s got to almost Pink Floyd meets Beatles. Such a unique style and band.
I just love that you guys have the exact same reaction as me, when I first listen to OK Computer and paranoid Android. People who is in to music, Radiohead is an absolute must 🖤
