@@efluidartstudiopriscillab I'll be watching, Thanks, Quick question, Do you not use the silicone in all paint colors or do you just play it by ear, some have it and some don't. I'm not seeing many cells in these.
@@pw9265 In the first year and a few videos afterward I di used to use silicone .( a small spritz from a spray can added just once in the midst of making a dirty cup of colors usually was all that was required- lots of videos from year 1 ) My additive now naturally make enough cells without the added ( huge )hassle of having to remove the silicone oil residue necessary to add finish coatings to the artworks .So ..Now...NO SILICON. Welcome Maureen, I am happy you found me too. My channel has many playlists you will find interesting all organized and separated by genre and topic and also by the hundred ( each list contains around 100 each) have fun!
You are such an impersonation for something new. Living in Alberta is a little harder to paint outside, but the Canadian geese are coming back, soon it will be ok to paint outside. You are totally fantastic, love all the work I have seen, keep on painting. Hugs from Canada.
Thank you.I just had a student yesterday and we did some variation on this theme and after seeing me do it in person she did not have a difficult time creating something very attractive herself.
I love your style and your positive attitude--Because I can. I going to order the book. I'm in St. Augustine, FL! I've only been painting for close to a year now, it is so much fun, and you make it that way!

The area you are refering to is a canvas board meant to be a catch all and become tru accidental art shhhh dont tell anyone...its working. The canvas looks like pine because it has lots of gold paint on it.
@@efluidartstudiopriscillab It's a beautiful painting to frame too. I did something similar but am now switching to real canvas so I can make pillows and table runners...etc.
My mom and I are going to a cabin in September and will take an hour paint and try to do this and I’ll shower curtain so we don’t make a mess in the cabin that we’re renting but she’s 85 years old and she’s looking so forward to doing this pouring the paint so it’ll be fun to see what kind a something we can come up with
Thank you. Just added this to the available printed art and more on my Pixels.com pixels.com/featured/gareden-of-weeden-4590-expressionistart-studio-priscilla-batzell.html
Thanks for the technique on this. Gave it a couple of tries with my own twist and really had great results. Would send along the pics to see what you thought but can't figure how to do that. You've inspired me with your approach which is laid back and fun. And 'because I can' has always been my view on life as a whole. As they say when folks ask why my reply is always 'why not'. You're really knocking out the art which tells me you're loving it. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
I wonder if the screens that are incfaucetss might work ...Great sugestion...Might be nice if I didnt have to cut 50 screens ...i have less trouble with lumps and more trouble with clogs. The openings on my lg bottles are TOO small!
I have probably a stupid question, After a pour has been manipulated into how you like, is it possible to sprinkle a little extra fine glitter onto it? Will the glitter even show in the paint or will what I am afraid of happen that the glitter will shred up the cells and make them disappear? The reason I ask is because I am planning to do my first pour and I have the colors I want and an idea for how it will go, I got a black canvas and I want to do a deep space looking pour (being my first pour, I know it won't work due to not knowing exactly what I am doing, but I got my fingers crossed), and when I imagine the image, I see some light sparkles throughout it with 1 or 2 places having a bit more concentration of glitter. Am I asking too much of such a wonderful art craft?
I don't use glitter so I am not your expert but I will say if you sprinkled glitter on something expecting NOT to see it would be a very tall order. I think you will find success. For me, Less would be more. You can't take it back once it's stuck to anything moist and everything will be moist. Idea... wait until after the artwork has dried and use some floetrol of a matte or gloss pouring medium where you want the glitter and ( still...less is more) but if you got too much you could still wash it off if you were quick.
@@efluidartstudiopriscillab Thank you, I was thinking in terms of small sprinkles here and there. As a card maker and crafter, I understand that glitter is the a gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving. Weeks after using the tiniest bit, vacuuming, I will still see it on the carpet or desk!
Have you always had this freedom with paint. Do you always feel that free when the paint doesn’t cooperate. I’m so new at this and am afraid of the result Will I lose that fear with time
I have always and fortunately for me been encouraged from before I can even remember to create with the unlimited freedom and support. The fear is a fear of failure and self-judgment you do not need to listen to. There's some truly freaky and ( personal opinion) not overly attractive ( polite version) art the art world embraces as valuable ( don't ask me to speak my mind about this)...so my opinion is I am not yet free enough but I am for sure headed in that direction for as long as I live . I recommend kicking fears but down the road. The fear is useless you must visualize to the fun you could be having if you could stop expecting to fail. If its ugly is just a stage to the butterfly/swan it could be if you are unafraid to play!!!! So yes, I strongly believe you will lose that fear in time and also that what you choose to believe is the strongest influence in your life so choose your focus to be on what is wanted and what IS appreciated. We do it because WE CAN.
Question, the white paint you put on the canvas first, does it have any additives in it at all? Or strictly just paint? Thank you, I'm watching all your videos.. Amazing they are!
Thanks so much 😊Unless I am specifiacally doing a "bloom " recipe all the paintsI use are always always mixed exactly the same with the exception that both teh balck and the white are half artist loft and half colorplace semi gloss latex housepaint. After that they are mixed as mentioned below the video with the same pouring mediim mixtures as all the other colors .Look at recent video for the updated recipe.
Pricscilla, just moved to Palmetto Fl , question for you can I. Use and keep my paints in the garage or will the heat wreck them, I appreciate your thoughts !
I don't really think you can keep your paints in the garage .I left mine out overnight in the shade and they fairly well blew up when I tried to open them.I do not advise it ,no.
beautiful beautiful BEAUTIFUL! what do you use for your edge catcher? I have a list of items I am going to purchase thru your link but did not see the edge catcher. Did I miss it?
Thank you the edge catcher are just the heavy plastic sheet inserted as a protective layer on the front of a 5 pack of Artist loft 16"x20" canvases I buy at Michaels. You can use cardboard too.It will work .I really like saving the used "catchers" to use for photo collages after they have been used awhile.
So pretty and unique! Is it possible to turn your camera around so that we can watch you create from your perspective? If not I'll just continue to turn my phone upside down hehe
Thank you...I am afraid there is no way to alter the perspective of the camera. As it is its balanced precariously to be able to record what it does record.

Wonderful paintings and good and helpful commentary. You seem to have big bottles of ready to use paint - do you make them up yourself with flow medium etc, or do you get them ready made?
Thank you. My "pouring" mixture or "recipe" is simple- and starts with 10-20% Gac 800 from "Golden " added into the paint color 80 or 90% This start the mixing process. Mix the paint and Gac thoroughly. Next, I add Floetrol (shake it first! )The truth is lately what I add next is a half and half mix using Deco Art pouring medium and Floetrol. I add the same (or more) ounces as the first two ingredients. To mix, if you use squeeze bottles as I do, add a marble and shake your paints every time before you use them. All my acrylic paints are mixed in advance and contained and stored in squeeze bottles. If you are not using squeeze bottles I suggest using a container that has a lid. I have often used the 4oz size plastic deli containers and the paint keeps for a long time in them but you still will have to stir before using the mix again because the Floetrol and other flow agents will rise to the top between uses. A variation of this is also always under the video in the description.
Thank you. Feel free to add subtitles ...They want me to pay to have them added by someone else...theyre are 500+ videos at $40.00 U.S.D. Each it would not be possible.Appologies. I do not have the time I need to do all the jobs I have now...
