So glad someone is talking about occupation in holistic and practical ways. Very much needed and relatable to me. Thank you Philosopher and path guide ✨
I love the way you explained the shoemaker with an spiritual connection to their work, I think with that kind of perspective we can find so much meaning in our careers, thank you I’ll keep it in my heart
im a physicist by training but recently found that it’s not enough for me. I want to pursue more of indian classical singing. i think it brings the spirituality aspect to the forefront
@DrPreetiSahu that feeling of not being enough is all too real but also a great marker that can indicate change is needed. So whilst at times it's painful, it can help us with moving us towards what we're meant to do. I'm wishing you the best on bringing forward this other side of yourself.
I studied psychology and practiced for ten years. I think you are accurate in your descriptions. The tension is real and my experience. Thank you for your video. Much appreciated.
@nylevesemken you're welcome and thanks for sharing your experience. I think on the upside there's so so much room for growth in spaces like psychology which may bring about new areas and insights to the field. Perhaps even new branches.
@@TheCareerArchetypes I agree. In Australia there are movements that are both expanding and contracting. I hope that it is one that brings more psycho-spiritual humanistic goodness to the profession.
I love your work! I'm a chemical engineer who started studying psychology in my early to mid-20's. I love the synthesis of tech and the spirit. My work has been so much more fulfilling as I've embraced both sides of myself (mechanical and spiritual). I hope more people can develop their soul and discover their true vocation
you see what yiu said is something i have been thining abt for long. we have physical and spirtual needs. tech helps us to survive, but spirituality is about living. surving and living are 2 differnt things. balance is the way since we are both body and spirit, we need to make sure both parts of ourselves are healthy and attended too. i like what you said, cause its something that occured to me a while ago. and i studied chemical engineering too. 😂
Thank you. This is very affirming of my experience. When writing my PhD thesis, my approach was to gather the primary and secondary sources and intellectual side, then my experiential knowledge which is subjective, and then write with intuition. Most supervisors did not agree with that, so it meant I had to persevere with my own ideas to finish the thesis, regardless of the opinion of university supervisors.
@carolynalsen3877 you're welcome and thank you for persevering with your own ideas despite being told otherwise by your supervisors. That can be a discouraging experience and can cause people to fracture themselves and their work. So I'm glad you stood strong, the world is better for it.
It has taken me too long to get to this channel, thank you so much!!!. As an artist (jeweler, photographer & sculptor) it is taking me too long to reap the rewards of my work. I know this is my path but I get resentful at times and usually my spirituality is the first to suffer during these hard times.
This is the second video of yours I have watched and both have been deeply inspirational, thank you! It's giving me hope that you are talking about these things, that there can be ways we can have our spirituality as a foundation. It was great to hear you talk about how that foundation has made academic work you've read jump off the page for you. That's not something I have thought about before.
This video resonates a lot, and I can directly relate it to three times in my life - I recently studied Holistic and Applied Kinesiology, after discovering just how helpful it was for me with chronic illness and ongoing health issues.... I came at it from a researched, intellectual and experienced perspective which was fascinating and so exciting for me. However because it was a "spiritual" modality my experience of being body and physical wellbeing focused was somewhat dismissed and minimised - they wanted to focus on trauma, which wasn't something that felt right to me. I like how you mention this going both ways, that both the spiritual and intellectual sides often deny the other. I've recently started learning Scottish Gaelic, and am finding this similar theme appearing for me in this pursuit as well. I love the intellectual side of it but don't understand the linguistic and grammatical jargon used, and wish there was more human and real world 'sense' put into the text books. I'm also finding some people don't quite understand when I say I have a Spirit Guide sitting over my ear telling me that half of what's written in these textbooks is nonsense 😅 Interesting timing for this video to appear on my feed, as I am currently pondering how this pursuit into Gaelic might lead to a career path, that doesn't involve studying it at an academic university level, because I know that isn't the right avenue. Thanks for the video!
@alisonmcdonald1429 sorry to hear that it was dismissed and minimised. This is unfortunately an all too common experience. Though it's really cool to know that you yourself are focused on both and no doubt your studying will only help with the work you're meant to be doing in this lifetime. So I'm glad this video found you when it did. Also, thanks for the kind words and you're welcome.
2:00 omg Joel this is EXACTLY how I felt about pursuing physics. Always been a huge nerd & lover of STEM but outside of the thrill to problem to solve & understand the world, the STEM feild lacked depth & meaning to me. Makes sense being that I wasn’t supposed to be a physicist but a metaphysicist ;)
Sometimes videos like this or on this topic are so watery and without real substance. This is quite different. What you are saying cuts through the bs and speaks to exactly what we need to hear today. Thank you
Still working on what that synthesis is for me. I think in my case there are some intellectual stones that need work to help marry the two, or at least give me a more clear picture of what speaks to me. Thank you for the video :)
@_Velveteye it's can definitely take time, especially because it's not commonplace to approach our work in this way. With that being said, the fact that you're working on this speaks volumes to your character. Stick with it and something unique and needed will come from it. Also, thanks for the kind words.
keep going, i see you starting coaching soon, your articulation is excellent and the delivery of your message is intriguingly descriptive . thanks for doing what you do! by the way, the tiny microphone is cute, could you share the link to purchase it?
I tend towards the opposite of most people, in that my spiritual is VERY developed. And actually I guess the intellectual side is as well. But sure to my developmental trauma and other circumstantial reasons I just don't practically know what to do with it. It's a question of application of my self correctly, and opportunity, which at least here in the US, is severely lacking.
@naomi6056 I would love to but that unfortunately takes up a lot of extra time which I don't have. However you're welcome to timestamp the videos yourself in the comment section for others. That would help both you and others with ADHD. 🙏

I really appreciate your channel. I am 24 and your ideas really help me frame the experiences I am having right now. Thank you
Welcome back!
I like the way you phrase your videos' titles and the terminology you use. It sounds very captivating to me.
Thank you very much
@JasmineSpace63 thanks, it's great to be back. Happy to hear you're enjoying it!

@lizalen22 thanks so much for the kind words and I'm glad I was properly able to convey the substance this topic deserves.
