    One issue I have is that I (21) often lack confidence and the crafts that I am pursuing suffer from it. Do you have some advice on that?

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 17 часов назад

      @KakashiHatake-sg8ym plenty and this is a really deep topic so I can't give the full spectrum in a comment reply. However what I would say is that I think about confidence in two ways. The first is skilled confidence. In other words, have you done thing enough times to deserve to be confident in it? If you haven't then you may need to do it more. Think about learning to drive. You shouldn't be confident before you've ever driven a car before. The other is psychological confidence. Where even though people have enough competence to get going they doubt and hide and shy away. When this is going on there's normally some root psychological barrier that needs to come to conscious awareness and then action needs to be taken that tells oneself that the false belief is wrong. You may want to check out my videos by searching "Action Therapy" here on the channel. They go into some more depth about how to solve it if you feel like this is the one hold you back.

    I'm so glad i have a 'luxury problem' here, regarding my parents. They had me shortly before the Peaceful Revolution & Fall of the Berlin Wall. Both of them are free spirits in their own way and so i had very few restrictions growing up. Which in retrospect i sometimes think would have been better if i had to learn to adjust to one or two more restricting rules - although I so can't stand when others tell me what to do even if i know it to be true (whatever happens here in the brain 🤓). But, i guess life thought about balancing that out and i had to stand up for myself and a path i hadn't words for then, and years to follow, neither a vision really, just a feeling ("just", the deeper knowing 💜) and stop going to church because i neither shared the catholic/christian believes nor cared for the institution. Funny, how our deepest wounds are in the same realm if nit the same garden as our deepest values and visions. (You wrote something along those lines in the CAU community). So now, i don't feel i have the need to stand up for me and my dreams - I'm still standing. I'll only sit down for tea. Edit. Thinking about it, there luckily never seemed to be a sense of fear or feeling of instability during those years and afterwards so there never were vibes or worries around going for the most stablest of jobs. Reminds me of the saying Tough times won't last, tough people do. Persisting despite what's happening around us. Astrology and it's humour with me being a Sag rising, Leo Sun in the 9th - talking about freedom (to move and travel, body and mind). 💛 it never gets old. 😁

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 12 дней назад

      @miss.a.musings that's great that you had that 'luxury problem'. Parents can have such a huge impact on our path and obviously, our lives. That when we have good parents or at least parents who give us values that we agree with well after we've left home, that we're better able to navigate our path without excess friction. Also, freedom is such an incredibly strong theme for you. Whenever we talk I'm like, "Oh, there it is again."

    Out of curiosity have you read the book "So Good They Can't Ignore You: Why Skills Trump Passion in the Quest for Work You Love" by Cal Newport ? If so what do you think?

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 23 дня назад

      @jaketodd9232 yeah, I did read it a while back. I find some of Cal Newport's thinking and ideas interesting, more so in the sphere of deep work though. I did fundamentally disagree with a many of his ideas presented in the book. Whilst I understand what he was saying about following your passion being rather fickle and becoming passionate post acquiring the skill, I haven't found that to be true in working with people on their paths. I've worked with a lot of people who were highly proficient in a line of work, rose to the top and hated it. I've also found that people can better align themselves through acquiring self-knowledge prior to getting skills, as they are more aware of the skills that will later serve their ultimate calling. I would likely argue that a sensitivity and awareness of self is best. This may also be a language problem. The word passion can cause confusion. I think the original root of the meaning passion should be considered, which is more like, 'in spite of suffering' rather than following a superficial interest.

    I have a rough idea of what I want to do, but my main source of concern is physical health. If the path demands 12 hour work days, even if I enjoyed the work, I won’t be able to keep it up. In this scenario I’ll probably choose a less satisfying but more physically viable option. How to think about stuff like this?

    • @ABC-jq7ve
      @ABC-jq7ve 27 дней назад

      Btw I want to be a data scientist or an ML engineer. But it’s a highly competitive and grueling job where I live, not to mention the prerequisites of a master degree or even a PhD.

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 26 дней назад

      @ABC-jq7ve whenever I talk about having a soul-led career there are three elements, soul, money and lifestyle. It's really important to be aware of and have all three things covered. So when to pursuing a path based on overextending yourself physically I would be looking at this in the lifestyle area. Knowing how you wish to live is important. However working this out needs to come last, as soul (what you're called to do) is the easiest thing to forget about and yet the most important element when it comes to meaning, fulfilment and realising your potential.

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 26 дней назад

      @ABC-jq7ve also, you'll want to get really clear between whether it's data scientist or an ML engineer because they're quite different paths (despite having overlaps). There may be a deeper reason why you're being pulled by these directions. People I've worked with in the unearth membership who are trying to decide between two, often haven't found the essence of what they're being drawn into yet. After doing this deeper work I've seen a number of them end up pursuing an option that wasn't even on the list of potential choices.

    After months of introspection (even years likely). I know my calling, I even have an archetype. How should one move forward? Not just the obvious but how to embody it in every thing without it feeling like “dress up” or playing pretend? Cause my issue is, I feel like I’ve been in self-doubt and on a different path for so long that even if I feel so sure and right about this, it feels scary, like it’s weird to be someone else all of a sudden, ya know?

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 27 дней назад

      @ABB14-11 well congratulations on knowing your calling and your Career Archetype! Love to hear that. You are at a really exciting part of the process. Whereby the focus transitions from unearthing what you're meant to be doing to actually living it. It's normal to feel like you're playing dress up in the beginning as this new way of being hasn't been integrated yet. It's one of the reasons I talk about Action Therapy. You'll need to begin (slowly) presenting this part of yourself in public - helping to solidify it into your identity. Making sure past ways of being and/or psychological barriers don't hold you back. I speak about this in depth and detail in my Unearth Membership (the links below this video) if you want to learn more about it. I also share specific strategies we've used to help members transition as it can vary depending on what your calling actually is.

  • @ABB14-11
    @ABB14-11 Месяц назад

    Very interesting idea. It’s so coincidental that I’ve been searching and reading about archetypes and specifically the archetype related to work (cause the usual archetypes of king, maiden, jester, etc. are not an urgent concern of mine). I even went on to try connect experiences, dreams and personal insights, plug it in to chat gpt to see what’s out there. It does help guide me cause there’s the idea of a role your playing (there’s a self-help book hy Todd Herman called Alter-Ego that explores this) but the idea of an archetype feels more ancient and naturally existing rather than forced. Good idea.

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes Месяц назад

      @ABB14-11 it's something that's become increasingly important in my work with others, bringing to the forefront archetypes that are outside of the traditional ones (as you mentioned king, maiden, jester) and exposing people to ones closer to home and therefore, more differentiated. Allowing them to know their calling in the modern world. It's interesting that you mentioned dreams. Many students I've worked with, when going through what I call 'the unearthing process' which is the process of knowing your calling and finding your Career Archetype, experience vivid and altering dreams. Something about coming to awareness of this part of ourselves seems to happen in hidden spaces prior to it overflowing into our conscious attention.

    The moving topic doesn't apply to me in the literal sense (yet) - but for the longest time I'm on and off the mat in my bedroom for a Yoga Routine. And i feel it's pretty similar. Moving into this room, this space and atmosphere I've already created for this activity that's changing me. Funny how the ego says that the one big move is too big and complicated and what not, but this small move, well, is too small for it to be relevant so I can still do it another time, easy enough. 🧐 So, let me just move my body to the mat and start with a pose and that's that. 😎💜

      @miss.a.musings movement and location is incredibly important in our paths. Both on the macro level and the micro level. The point you bring up is definitely relevant, movement within our small spaces including frequency and speed and type will impact the path. Great point.

      I mean, this *is* narcissistic thinking, though that doesn't make it incorrect. Narcissists feel this way by necessity, because they struggle to percieve and integrate outside information. It can be a powerful antidote if you're the *opposite* and too cautious, too considerate, too deferential.

    Helpful! I think this would resonate a lot with 20 somethings that have experimented a little, or college folks who’ve developed a consciousness as to how they want to operate in the world. Appreciate you for clarifying how an archetype can be expressed, and for encouraging people to dream and ALSO take actionable steps to make it a reality.

    • @TheCareerArchetypes

      @KhushiSingh-ix6fs absolutely welcome and I agree! Our 20's can be such a chaotic and turbulent time, seeking to find ourselves and our place in this world that we can easily be led to pursue paths that don't fit because they have clear steps. However we need to be in touch with our roots and our core which is a direct line to our dreams so I'll forever encourage people to dream and then to take the steps they need to make them happen.

    This is so true! I have experienced it first hand too. Before I connected strongly to my intuition I was able to do things for more amount of time, put efforts, fail and gain traction. I have build so many skills because of that. But as I have connected more strongly to my intuition after my spiritual awakening it’s like I am not even allowed to do anything that my intuition tell me not to. Sometimes I feel like in this life phase my intuition is just guiding me to integrate all abandoned parts of me so I let myself be guided by that but I feel very ungrounded at times too. Because I am not able to do just one thing that I loved to do before and improve on that. As I am working on my root chakra now I am starting to come back fully on the earthy realm and see myself for where I am, that sometimes when manifesting and “living in the end state” hinders us to bypass the necessary steps to follow the insights as you said. I feel like all of a sudden when you come to know you can be anything do anything that freedom makes you want to explore everything but yes eventually we have to learn to take practical steps to live our purpose too.

    • @TheCareerArchetypes
      @TheCareerArchetypes 5 месяцев назад

      @aroojkiran7619 being intuitive is absolutely a gift and needs to be cherished as one, it's recognising the other-side that's the problem. So I think it's really cool that you are and it's cool that you're working on your root chakra to do that as it aligns with sensation and being grounded. If you develop both it's a powerful combination.

What really helps, is that you put words and concepts to what otherwise were abstract thoughts, feelings and notions which were running unchecked within me. An example being; I'm not one to delve into asrtal planes of understanding, although I sense their affect on our reality and maybe life trajectory - and your statement of our geographic location and movement to another location changing aspects within our trajectories, sort of made me spiritually realise some kind of truth. As Louise Hay would say "it touched my inner ding" 😄

      @jamesk7197 well it sounds like it found you at the right time in your life and that I could put words on the experience. Some of the biggest changes I've witnessed in both myself and others is the literal and physical moving of locations. It still shocks me (even though it shouldn't ha!). Laughed at, "touched your inner ding" 😂🙌

    What would you suggest about knowing with conviction “this is the place I want to move to”, when you never really had the opportunity to visit anywhere and you doubt will I be able to adjust there easily? Or this should be compromised for the pursuit of first learning to experience yourself without any restrictions?

    • @TheCareerArchetypes

      @aroojkiran7619 I would go to the place for a holiday, try it out, taste the food, talk to the people, go for a walk around the city. Then you can move. Course, if you don't have that luxury that's a different thing all together.

    • @jamesk7197
      @jamesk7197 5 месяцев назад

      @@TheCareerArchetypes I currently don't have the luxury to do so, however, for the age of 15/16 I also wanted to move to more rural areas, of open spaces surrounded by nature and nearby coastline. I'm now 27 leaving the corporate world and moving to that place, I've got no real plans yet, I selected a place that I like and the name of the small town has been in my head for about 4 years - I'm going to go there and find healing, to use it as a launchpad of discovering who I'm meant to be and what I'm meant to be doing here.

    I related to the whole thing so much, and about the part where you described one of your students that she couldn’t express herself fully because of family and just the people around, how there’s so much of me that people don’t even know about, and they are just hidden because I am going to get cancelled for having different beliefs and opinions🫠

    I keep putting the breaks on because spirit disappoints me , anyway I’m 70 now, so I’m retired from being a seeker of truth. The truth maybe out there , but I’m over trying to find it, maybe if I let it go, it will find me? But will I recognise it? That is the question.
