Fitzpatrick is probably a good mentor for Josh Rosen to be honest. Josh Rosen plays football like it's Madden-- he really reads the field like an AI or something, only throwing passes that the concept tells him will be open. Fitzpatrick has a natural feel for the capabilities of the actual players on the field and is willing to trust his arm to fit tight windows, essentially a born gamer (even with his flaws).
To be fair to FitzMagic, its really hard for ANY Quarterback to make throws if their receivers play poorly. All you can do is throw the ball and if the receiver can't catch it (or can't get open) there's not a heckuva lot the QB can do to make things happen in the passing game. You pointed out that he throws a lot of 50/50 balls and that's a fair point, but straight drops are death to any QB (even guys like Brady) and there were a LOT of drops for the Bucs last season.

fitz getting benched for throwing a interception vs the bears is personally awkward because whenever my coached called all hitch it always felt like we were just wasting a play cause we only ever got picked on hitches and it felt like the hardest throw because your really hoping that the db covering the route can't identify its a hitch and jump the route, which it also felt like it was the easiest route to cover but w/e what do linemen know
