Freya is probably my favorite character in the entirety of Final Fantasy history. I love her design, her struggle, her abilities, etc. Everything about her is amazing.
Always insta-goosebumps. ❤
Perfect theme for a character that sees her own people being decimated. Twice.
Mostly due to Beatrix being a poorly written character and Garnet being an idiot who caused the chain reaction of all that destruction by running back home like an idiot.
@@Zelink108 I was expecting you to say something as stupid as this. In what reality would a racist queen, commanding an army of black mage drones, be stopped by not having instant access to an eidolon? She was always going to commit genocide against those she felt were inferior, which is what made Kuja’s manipulation so effortless. Garnet didn’t need to do anything for these horrors to be unleashed, just as in real life throughout history.

By Beatrix? Who is an overpowered Mary Sue that could easily hold a sword to her throat and make her surrender when it was obvious that Garnet was right about Brahne going crazy. She tried to warn everyone in the castle about this before being “kidnapped” but no one believed her, which just makes Beatrix look worse.

Do you not realize that if Brahne didn’t have the Eidolons she would not have been able to completely nuke Cleyra and would not have been able to take Lindblum? Also, Cid should have warned Burmecia that Alexandria could have been planning an attack way before hand. Stop comparing this with real life when it is so contrived. But keep being a Garnet apologist.

@@Zelink108 Cleyra? it's just a tree and the barrier that made it special was gone so yeah she could've and was already in the process of invading it but yeah it would have taken Eidolon for Lindblum but wasn't talking about Lindblum
freya, one of my fav dragoons of all time...
Freya is probably my favorite dragoon in all the FF games.
I always felt horrible for Freya given what happens to her people.
One of my favourite characters ever.
+1
Who gets shafted.
I always love Freya’s theme and she’s also my favorite FFIX character
クポの実、また食べたいクポーー!!
9のモーグリ可愛いよね
So good!!
my favorite character in this game
The game was ruthless committing mass genocides with the rat dragoon race, twice in the two different places
Only because Beatrix was poorly written and didn’t realize the obvious that Brahne was insane and not in her right mind until too little, too late (not to mention being an unbeatable Mary Sue) and also particularly Garnet for running back home like an idiot and pretty much delivering her eidolons right back to Brahne to be used as weapons.
@@Zelink108 what exactly about Beatrix needed to be written better that isn't at a minimum her helping rebuild Burmecia and at max her swinging from a tree?
@Zelink108 Yeah Garnet screwed up for sure. She acted impulsively and let her emotions get the better of her. This was a stupid mistake on her part and she (sort of) learns from it later on. But I believe with Beatrix, her issue makes a lot more sense. She truly believed she was fighting for justice and that Alexandria was in the right, but she shows clear signs of being conflicted about the horrible things Queen Brahne tells her to do. Similar to Cecil in final fantasy 4. It takes a lot to turn your back on a figure and a kingdom you've dedicated your whole life to serving. Like Steiner, Beatrix was practically indoctrinated by Queen Brahne's radical ideals
@@loudsilence377 Where was it even implied that Beatrix was “indoctrinated by radical ideas”? This isn’t Nazi Germany. That’s headcanon. Heck, Garnet tried to warn Beatrix and other people in the castle that the Queen was going crazy and they didn’t listen, even when Beatrix should have been in war briefings with the Queen and the unprovoked attacks on Burmecia proved that Garnet was right.
@Zelink108 I suppose that's just something I inferred. Alright, maybe Beatrix is kinda stupid. Steiner at least didn't know about the Queen's intentions, so I suppose that absolved him of any real guilt, but Beatrix did actively participate in a massacre, just like Cecil in 4. She might have a few screws loose after all
"To be forgotten is worse than death."
Ironic, because the game pretty much forgets about her and boots her subplot with Fratley to the side with what can only be described as a twist tie of a resolution.
@@Zelink108 honestly it's worse with her ex he come back feeling the need of his people in the wind(emotionally powerful scene) then dips right before his people are massacred for no payoff
@@EddDoubleDD That’s one thing I agree with you with, Fratley shows up at Cleyra… then just runs off for no real reason, and vanishes from the rest of the game.
@EddDoubleDD
Fratley shows up
Tells Freya he doesn't remember her
Leaves, allowing his people to die
Refuses to elaborate further and doesn't return the rest of the game.
Ultimate Gigarat
@@loudsilence377 Another example of IX being rushed and largely unfinished (all of the PS1 FFs are technically unfinished and have lots of cut content due to hardware limitations, but VII was the most complete of them) and having lousy writing.
フラットレイ様…!!
One of the best.
竜騎士の服はフライヤが一番好き。コマンド選択後の槍を構える仕草も好きです。
ジャンプで全体攻撃をかわせるのがいいw
個人的にⅨは勿論、FFシリーズ全体でも上位に入る好きな曲
Hauntingly beautiful.
Easily my favourite set of themes from 9.
one of my favorites themes in the franchise!
❤
Freya ♥
Awesome [Video Soundtrack] Freya's Theme [FINAL FANTASY IX] Video.
0:05 Freya "No...!"
[She kneels beside one]
"Come on! Get up!"
[She kneels beside the other one]
"Dammit! Say something!"
Where are those reinforcements from Lindblum that Cid mentioned he was going to send to Burmecia?
Zidane "I sure hope Dagger didn't come here..."
"Let's go."
Shouldn't you actually be hoping that she did come here so that you can catch up to her before she does something really stupid?
Unfortunately, that doesn't happen and a lot of painful stuff happens. Zidane should be a bit more concerned.
Burmecian Soldier "...Black mages... Couldn't do anything."
Regarding Alexandria's takeover of the Grotto and Burmecia here, it amazes me in general that brainless golems like the Black Mages, with simple low level spells (spells that are freely used, for example, by ordinary Alexandrian soldiers!), cut down all of the Burmecian soldiers so easily. Despite the fact that Burmecia, as was later said, differs from Cleyra just by militancy.
The point is that the mages are more powerful than they should be and that the rat knights are weaker than they should be.
1:05 Zorn "Who is that?"
Thorn "That, I don't know."
Zorn "I know I have seen him somewhere before."
Thorn "Somewhere before? I have not seen him. I know."
Zorn "I guess it is not important. Let's kill him."
Thorn "Yes, kill him, shall we?"
Do Zorn and Thorn seriously not recognize and remember the blonde guy with a tail who "kidnapped" the princess Garnet that they were chasing across the Alexandria side of the Mist Continent with the Black Waltzes a while ago? That's just dumb.
Why aren't these two clowns still trying to chase after Garnet like they were ordered to?
2:35 "Kupooo! I love Kupo Nuts!"
[He runs off]
Mogmi "Darling! Where are you going!?"
"U-Um, thank you!"
[She runs after him]
"Darling!"
Zidane "What a crazy couple..."
Maybe you should be a bit more jealous Zidane, considering that there is more chemistry and charm between this Moogle couple than with you and your significant other, Dagger, who just drugged and abandoned you for her scary mother and forced you along this current trail of events that will spiral out of control.
2:50 [Out of a tunnel in the wall, a huge serpent dives into the water. Boss battle begins vs. Gizamaluke. After defeating him, the four characters are standing around]
Regarding Gizamaluke, this game is still trying to convince me that a creature that looked like THIS (look up a picture of him) was kind and good and was in charge of marrying rat people…
Seriously, what is Gizamaluke? It is never explained what he is or why they use him for making marriages in Burmecia in the first place. It doesn't even explain how he was even being controlled by Zorn and Thorn.
