Thank you for your videos. Can you please show me how you cut the back of retainer if the patient has wisdom teeth ?
Very good.
Thank you buddy
nice! what is the specific bur you are using to cut the plastic at back edges. thanks
Nice
thank you
It would help us newbies to know what speeds you are using the hand pieces on for different burs etc. thanks!!
When cutting out retainers I use a cutting disc by Komet USA. I run my handpiece at about 30,000 rpm. You can buy the exact burs and yes they are the best quality I could find. Ask sales team to look up my account (szara dental) and copy the exact burs I use
I have my clear retainers that goes over my palate
Nice

Where could you buy a pair of good curved scissors like those?

@@SzaraDentalLab we bought the polishing wheels from your amazon store, but our handpiece doesn’t fit them, the metal bar is too thick, any recommendations for the hand piece?
Are you using a dental motor with straight handpiece or is that just a Dremel?
Straight handpiece
Hi...how i can get those polishing brushes?? Thanks

Thank you so much for your videos and tips, they are really great. May I ask what is the bur (it appears 4 or 6 fluted) you use to do the initial rough trim of the aligner material around the cast? I checked your amazon shop but did not see it.
This is really cool, I always wondered how these were made lol, how do you guys tighten them?
tightening an invisible retainer is pretty much impossible! it just means it wasnt made on a very good piece of equipment

These things hurt my lower gum😩 n I got mine in 2 days ago
Go back and have them cut it back a little shorter. You can also try using 800 grit wet sandpaper to get rid of sharp edges (home depot)
@@SzaraDentalLab thank you for the advice😌… I’m out of town so I can’t go in, but I called their office and they instructed me on what to do. I cut a little bit off both retainers and they fit so much better now… no more cuts.
I just got my clear retainers and I can feel the retainer touch a part of the roof of my mouth which is making me gag and feel super uncomfortable. What can I do??? Do I ask my dentist to cut it more, or should I change to a permanent retainer?
go back to your Doctor asap and ask if they can cut back the acrylic. This will prevent you from having that gag reflex and also not have to buy another retainer! Let me know how it goes good luck
@@SzaraDentalLab thanks!
what size of invisacryl is that? 0.04?
1mm
My retainer keeps cutting my gums on the outter side of my top teeth and I’m scared to file it because I don’t want to ruin the retainer
Buy some 400 grit sandpaper at your local hardware store and smooth it off
Szara Dental Lab thank you, Will do!! I’ve already sanded it down with some with a nail filer and it’s better but still sharp in some area so I’ll do as you say :)
@@Generictingz95 buy the wet dry sandpaper. Should only be a couple of dollars. Wet it and sand and rough spots smooth
@@SzaraDentalLab thank you for the advice! ill do so right away!!
Is scalloping necessary? I recently received my Essix retainer and they were not scalloped.
No. Only certain cases need scallop
Genial steve
Gracias
Are clear retainers given only for upper teeth.... My Dentist didn't give it for lower teeth... Any reason clear retainers not used for lower teeth 😐😐?
I have a permanent retainer at the bottom & top one. Both clear.
What purpose does the sand paper serve if you are just going to go over it with a medium grit brush?
Takes away any sharp edges. Brush shows me anything I've missed and helps smooth it out. You could do either or, or both
@@SzaraDentalLab awesome! Thanks for the reply!
What do you call this trimming material you use thanks
Komet cutting bur and a L50K Forza handpiece
Why is it that some retainer covers the gum (like how it was completed before scalloping) while some retainer came as how it look after scalloping?
Some need more retention.
@@SzaraDentalLab thank you for your reply, appreciate it!
I make my own retainers, but occasionally they are slack fitting. I use either 1mm or 1.5mm sheet I am confused as to what I'm doing wrong, they are vaccum form tight around the mould, so in theory these should be tight fitting every time. Any help appreciated.
Follow me on Instagram and send me some pictures. I think I can help
Mine lower retainers got break😭😭
Scared asf from my doc I alr broke my metal brackets 4 times soo yeah my respect will be ruined asfff
😭😭
It happens, stinks but happens
What scissors did you use?
You can find them www.amazon.com/shop/szaradentallab
Can Someone please help me? I’m going out with my friends for a night and I’m just wondering if it’s ok for me to not bring and wear my retainer just for one night? Someone please reply
One night ok. Make sure you put it in for a couple of hours when you arrive home. It will feel tighter and tighter the longer you wait
@@SzaraDentalLab ok thanks
How did you melt the plastic to fit the shape of the mold?
I use a biostar bit.ly/2oYT8pV
What is the thickness you recommend for retainer? Thanks
1mm
What is the name of the plastic you use?
I love comfort track and invisacrylbit.ly/2oYT8pV
Can this plastic be used to make whitening trays?
where's part 2?? lol
So sorry. Believe it or not it's coming
Can I order some of these?
This is a terrible method.
The retainer should be cut no more that 1mm above the gingiva, and follow its curvature. Maybe 2mm along the palatal. This is just a lazy method that makes it extremely difficult for the patient to take out! If it's difficult to even put back on the model, imagine how it is for the patient to take it out of their mouth!
HATERS GOING TO HATE
