This proof of concept came across my radar after buying this board game. Fantastic way to showcase the game, explain rules and keep me engaged. More of these please.
My man, it's really nice to hear that you enjoyed the proof of concept video! Truth be told this project was one of my heavier projects and just seeing that it did what I wanted to do to someone in the world (have someone walk away with better knowledge of the game flow, understand some fringe cases in regards rules but most importantly wrap it together to create an engaging narrative that is simple to follow at the same time) you have no idea how happy that makes me. The purpose of the video was essentially to gauge how long it would take for me to realistically bring our recorded board game content through the editing process without cutting corners and maintaining a lot of the banter that I feel is lacking on RUclips without taking away too much from the game itself. The plan was to create 3 videos as a "Season 0" but I grossly underestimated how much work is needed to create an enjoyable viewing experience for a deck builder which is a shame because it's my favorite genre but probably won't make another deck builder video any time soon. At the moment, our main camera which is the overhead in this video is sent back to the shop for repairs and they said 4~8 weeks for it to come back to me which is why none of my current videos are shot in the studio room and is instead in my gameplay/streamer room. It's a real shame too! We have kickstarters to unbox that I backed ages ago that finally came and the boys are rearing to make another video but our equipment is saying no so we'll have to wait for that to resolve before anything else is filmed haha. I also need to revise the notes I've made on this one before I start filming the next one to streamline the process and add/remove things that could be improved upon with this proof so it gets better as I get better at making it. But anyway, glad you found our first attempt fun and thank you for taking the time to watch/comment!
Great und fun play to watch incl a good job of highlighting stuff. I bought the new edition 2 weeks ago. So far, I have only played one two-player game and various solo games using the One Stop Coop Shop Automa rules. Looking forward to a 3 or 4 player game.
Hey man! Thanks for the nice comment and sorry for the late response. I've only been able to get my concept video comments now :D I don't know if you played with 4 players yet but it's pretty damn fun and super hard to find anyone who doesn't want to play it at any meet up. The new edition takes some liberties with its component but should still play the same as the OG version just with slightly worse player pieces. Hope you and your mates loved it as much as we did!
Sadly no, I really wanted some but it feel off the wayside because Celebrations was such a disaster D: I made an order with my distributors anyway so we're just waiting on them coming through one of these days
Wow - great camera work and production. I don't know how I missed this a few months back before I bought it.
Fun and creative! Keep up the good work tabletop!
Thanks Jazzy! Hopefully in the new year we can take this to the next level and it'll be a regular monthly thing =)
Boy that Sam guy is a quick learner, second time ever playing the game and kicked ass
He's also the humblest person I know. True story
