As do tales of her famous Saturday Night Live slot, West Side Story, her Beatles obsession (aged 8), the Damon Runyan world of late '70s L.A., current life in New Orleans and the "firece fire of fans who've stayed with me".

I bought Rickie's stuff back in the day and loved Pirates, especially 'last Chance Texaco'. However...
I went to see her in Manchester in about 2007 and its the one and only gig in 50 years of live music that I've ever walked out of half way through.
The foyer was full of similarly disappointed people.

Another very,very special Word edition.I Really adore Rickie Lee Jones music.First I heard Chuck E and bought the eponymus debut album right away.Some 20 years ago while i was still developing my record collection i came across an lp copy of the Pirates album for a rediculous 2,00 euro. It remained some of those rare occasions that this was true value for money and this music made a deep emotional impact and really resonated to me.Another interesting,revealing and very pleasant meeting.Kind greetings from the Netherlands!
