  • Nastesho Ulow challenges the image of the 'oppressed' Muslim woman in the media. In her talk, she sheds light on the misrepresentation of Muslims and how it leads to misconceptions and prejudices. She proposes solutions to implement in our everyday lives so that we are not influenced by corrupt and inaccurate information. Leaving Africa in 2012, Nastesho Ulow's strong roots in culture followed her to America. In Fargo, Ulow became passionate about community involvement so Ulow and her friends created a Minority Inclusion Association; their hope being more minority students would have a voice and feel comfortable to partake in the community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is all Christians know from their priests
      lmao
Christians do not even ask themselves how she did not complain or why she was proud of her marriage to the Prophet or why her father was satisfied with that marriage... It does not mean that he married her that in this way they may practice it with her... At that time women were menstruating in The nine-year-old... If he had really done that to her, she wouldn't have been proud of her marriage. Really, how many attacks of that religion without reason or logic.

@@ayaashraf5960 This is actually what islam teaches: islam treats women like second-class citizens compared to muslim men. The quran outright says a woman's testimony accounts for half a man's or that a woman's inheritance share accounts for half a man's. There are several sahih ahadith wherein Muhammad outright and explicitly says women are intellectually deficient becaude of their inability to fast while menstruating.
You need to educate yourself on your religion and not apply Western principles where they actually don't belong.

This is EXACTLY What We Need All People To Realize...
And Many People Misinterpret ISLAM AND ITS VALUES.
PEOPLE WHO KILL OTHER PEOPLE UNDER THE NAME OF ISLAM AND MUSLIMS ARE NOT MUSLIMS.
BECAUSE ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE AND NATURE.
    Bottom Line:
Analyze Islam by yourself to ''Find The Truth'' RATHER THAN letting Mass Media control and influence your mind....!

I think you're the one who is being brainwashed by Western media.
You don’t have to care about Muslim women whatever they wear hijab or veil. We don’t cover ourselves not to get comments from you but for Allah because it’s an Islamic rule. That's why women need to wear and cover their heads. Instead of talking rubbish about other religions, research about your religion, learn something from your religion, and live with that. Surely you won't find there that you can criticize other religious people. So quit saying Muslims are brainwashed when YOU are the who is brainwashed 💁‍♀️

@sadi3087 Aisha was 18, not nine, when she married the Prophet’
There are different narrations and opinions about how old Aisha (RA) was when she married the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is not possible to give an exact figure...
The correct of Aisha when she married the Prophet was 18 years old and not 9 years old. The narration reported by Bukhari is simply a corrupt one. It violates the law of God, common sense, tradition and culture, and even other hadith! It also contradicts the chronological order of the events during the Prophetic mission. It is thus inconceivable and unjustified to elevate the words of Bukhari above the integrity of the beloved Messenger!
Although this point of view is historically more meaningful than the nine-year narrative, it is still Hz.

Entitled ‘The marriage of the Prophet to Aisha when she was a girl of nine years - A BLATANT LIE!’, this article was first published in the Egyptian Yawm Al-Sabai (The Seventh day) magazine of October 16, 2008
Another point of view is that Aisha was around the age of 14 when she completed her marriage, which seems to be the most accurate understanding of this subject.
