Chocolate Cake & Chocolate Icing Chaos

- Went to the grocery store with the girls, got our supplies and went home to make a delicious chocolate cake for Franki & Stevie's babcia.
Chocolate Cake Ingredients
3 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 TSP salt
1 TSP baking soda
3 TSP baking powder
2 cups sugar
1.5 cups water
2/3 cup oil
2 TBSP vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
Set oven to 350 degrees. Combine all dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well, sifting coco in last (get rid of all lumps)
Combine all wet ingredients, other than sour cream, in a separate container and mix well. Add the wet mixture to the dry, and mix thoroughly. Add sour cream.
Fill Bundt cake pan with batter, and put in oven for 45 mins. Check with stick / fork to make sure it has baked thoroughly before removing (if fork / stick comes out clean, it’s good). Wait until cake cools to add icing. Optional - wrap cake and put in freezer overnight, then thaw in the morning before icing. I’ve made this cake probably a hundred times, and always found the thawed ones to be more moist!
Icing
2 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
8oz cream cheese
3 oz butter
1/3 water w 2 tsp vanilla extract mixed in
Beat cream cheese and butter in mixer. Add coco to icing sugar with sifter to get out lumps. Add this to the mixer and mix until whipped. Add a little bit of the water / extract mixture to make it more light.

To make that cake even better, add a pouch of Jello chocolate pudding mix and mini-chocolate chips to it! It is the best cake ever!

Thanks for the tip! I’m going to try the pudding idea out for sure. I probably won’t add the chips to my cake, because I want a smooth cake like texture, but I do add the chips to my chocolate muffins, so I’ll probably try the pudding with those too while I’m at it! Lol 😊

Both baby dolls are precious. Little Stevie, I notice, never tries to be the 'star' of the video, she just is much of the time. Never demands it. Such a sweet baby. Frankie is precious, also. The little sisters personalties are as different as night and day. I appreciate the way Frankie seems to enjoy 'teaching' Stevie how to do things, tries to instruct her. I enjoy watching the siblings interactons with each other as well as with mommie and daddy. Thank you, Pior Family. ❤️

I were always backing with my grandma and it was the best of times so cosy and warm and full of love and closeness . Now im almost grandma i still love backing and cant wait to do it with a grandkids or more soon i hope. When i make i still relive the feelings from Then and i feel my grandmas love for me. She is Long gone but i carry her with me in all i do and am she taught me most of it . I see this same in your family being together you include your kids the same Way and this Will be part of who they are all Their lifes its a wonderful gift you give and recieve. Definitely the girls will be the best bakers when they grow up. I liked the way Mama is giving them the free hand although it is a mess...so familiar to me as me and my sis too used to do the same with Mom. This is what good upbringing is. God bless the girls and hats off to Mama and ofcourse kudos to Papa for cleaning up the mess without any irritation. ❤❤❤ .

You are both so very patient with the little girls, it’s wonderful. I frequently couldn’t do that when cooking, so I did it while they slept. You’re amazing with them during this process and they obviously LOVE it. I enjoyed my children so much but not when cooking. I wish I had, though!

Franki stayed with you throughout the entire time, but Stevie got bored pretty quickly, although she made sure and returned in time to lick the spoon. Franki just might turn out to be a little chef 👩🍳. She sure seems to like to cook. She just loves to learn. ❤
