Djokovic IS a HUGE problem. He is a highly intelligent independent thinker, a man who stands his ground, a traditional family loving man. That makes him hard to control. He’s walking proof that you can succeed without selling your soul. And now he is a hero to the anti-establishment.
And even worse, he’s likely to become more and more dominant because he REFUSED to poison himself with the vax.

    • @adelaideholmes5674

are you so sure about that he is a family loving man? the rumours says he has had marrital problems and there was an interview here on youtube where he spoke about it but he did not mention details. also, mcenroe claims he is the tiger woods of tennis, and djokovic's best response was "he is entitled to say whatever he wants" etc., so dont be so naive, and he actually is very hard on his team and difficult to control i imagine and gives them a hard time, and when you watch his matches you will see that he is both angry, self-centered and a bit too high on himself and has the need to scream high sometimes when he wins important points, and he also gives ugly stares at the audience sometimes and feel the need to respond by high screams if he has felt lack of support before certains points, you could easy see it at rolland garros this year as well. I do not think he is that emotional when he wins big grand slam titles to be honest. He has also claimed women should not make as much money as men in tennis and when asked if he is the goat some years ago before he had the most slams he said, i think i am, and now he wants to be more and more popular so he does things like learning french and claiming it would be rude to other tennis greats to claim he is the best of all time. Federer has said Djokoic should not make impersations of other players several times, and personally i think it is very strange how a player who used to withdraw because of soar throat!!! : ruclips.net/video/6S93YvQiCpE/видео.html now has this magical power in the age of 36 years. He also supports all kinds of tennis players who have failed doping tests or refused to take them and then had bans for not providing samples in time. Are we too naive as people when players like Simona Halep and Sharapova are taken for providing tests with roxadustat and meldonium? Verdasco failed a sample the other day as well and he is spanish. When expertes claim there is a lot of doping in tennis I choose to believe it.

The entire issue is one of bigotry and prejudice. I'm a Canadian who has been a Djokovic fan since 2008. I have stressed through his ups and downs in his matches and very much appreciate his consistent underdog mentality. The media, however, have made him a scapegoat instead. I have been impressed by his character not where he was born or his nationality. His grit, will and determination are almost second to none in the sports world and it appears in his love of family and personal relationships.
The pettiness, hostility, and disrespect from journalists and many others in the world is just an issue of hateful prejudice. His achievements are born out of love and persistence. His family and those who love him and whom he loves is all that is important.

      @timothygrayson Год назад +8

I think I'd agree with you Realist. It should not matter what your nationality or your cultural past. But we have to be honest and admit that prejudice is becoming fashionable and ethnic intolerance a characteristic of mass appeal? Novak is a great ambassador and human and hostility towards him I can feel because his experience of Western cultures is shared by most Slavic people who have genuinely tried to assimilate through work and endeavour socially. I live in England where I was born but cultural prejudice is rife from media and state to the man on the street. I like travellers whom I assimilate more with and find more agreeable. The British are abhorrent in their behaviour abroad and do not rally for any flag but do sympathise with victims of hate crime who are disliked simply because they are good people?

The hate basically comes from Roger Federer fans.
He was their Favorite player of all time AND he was the Greatest of all time.
They loved that narrative and fairy tale.
Then Nadal came and he was accepted by Roger fans BECAUSE he was only REALLY a threat at the French open. He may have won one or two other majors at the time but it was still pretty much Rogers field .
Plus there was the whole "Roger is winning 2/3 Grand slams in a year....can he overcome Nadal to win the calendar slam ?
      The greatest player ever "...
And Nadal praising him in all his press conferences made it easier for Federer fans to accept Nadal. There was a story of "rivalry" there .....
Rivalry that pretty much helped carve Rogers legacy.
The Djokovic came aged 19 and he beat Federer at a couple of masters 1000 Tournaments. "The new kid on the block"
Could he possibly be the new person that dethrones the king ?
Roger fans weren't having it !!
      No way !! He's not better .
Djokovic came close for two years but never REALLY bothered Roger too much.
Roger also called Djokovic out in a few press conferences....
After 2010 the tally was Roger 16 slams , Nadal 9 slams and Djokovic 1 slam .
      16 - 9 - 1 !!!
      It's now 23-22 -20.
He literally destroyed their dream Fairy tale .. and THAT'S why they hate him.
Most of the media are Federer fans ..
That is why Djokovic deserves so much respect coz he literally took the debate out of the media and fans hands..
He didn't allow any room for favouritism to play a part.
The stats say it all now
      He's the best ever.
He's gonna finish with the most Major titles male or female ... In the history of tennis EVER
He might even complete a calendar slam this year ..
      He's done a career slam 3 times over !!
      That's insane
      Most weeks at #1 ever
Only player to be #1 in 3 diff decades.
Only player to have Won all 9 master 1000 tournaments twice.
He's the oldest number 1 player too if I'm not mistaken.
In fact if it wasn't for COVID he'd probably have a couple of more slams and never have relinquished the #1 ranking at all....his streak would still be on
He's even amassed the most ranking points ever in a season at around 16500 points .
      He's clearly the best

They don't take s..t, they just do what they do best, without any off-court drama and bs, respectfull to the public and their oponents. True gentlemen and sportsmen, people we should look after.

Luka Doncic is Slovene because it is his upbringing, his right, his choice, and that's it. Novak's father is a Serb, and Novak's mother is a Croat, a real Croat and not a descendant of Catholicized Serbs. Well, Novak considers himself a Serb and represents Serbian views. Dražen Petrović, a basketball player, had Serbian origins, but his ancestors converted to Croats and he was born a Croat and felt like a Croat. He was a distant relative of Dejan Bodiroga (also a successful basketball player of that generation) who is a Serb.

Western Europeans despise Eastern Europeans, especially the Slavs, and worst of all the Orthodox Christian Slavs. It is a general thing, deeply embedded due to historical and cultural differences.
Despite Novak's results, the western public has the attitude that Rafa and Roger are "real tennis champions", and Novak is only a temporary inconvenience that they will tolerate and as soon as he finishes his career, they will no longer mention him.

So many aren't able to digest a man with such humble beginnings coming from a non-descript and war torn country, confronted with several adversities, make it so big in sport to make a compelling argument to be heralded the Greatest to have wielded the tennis racquet.
Roger and Rafa coming from an elite Western background always were the darling of biased media, prejudiced tennis commentators and a toxic audience who couldn't countenance the superstardom of the elastic Serbinator who dared to challenge and unshackle the hegemony of the two who were dominating the sport with such consummate ease.

Djokovic started having problems when he publicly criticized the tennis federation (I think it was the tennis federation) and wanted the prize money to be distributed among the top 100 players in the world because he knows how expensive this sport is and what families have to sacrifice if they want their children play and train. His criticism was before the Australian Open and then the biggest disgrace in tennis (AO) happened, I don't want to do conspiracy theories but everyone can draw an interesting conclusion from all this. Australians quickly forgot how much money he donated for the victims when there was a fire in Australia. Something will always remain the same, and that is that all the smaller countries that are less rich and invest less in sports, their athletes who achieve the best results will always be under attack, or they will be jealous of them and they will not be so popular, especially if these athletes have their own beliefs. Djokovic is not only the best because of the results but we have to look at what he has done as a person for the whole world, sports and especially for young people/children and that makes him the greatest in my eyes.

Serbs were loved only when they were dying in hundreds of thousands during ww1... Similarly like Ukrainians today.
Furthermore if you look thru 20th and 21st century you can find a lot of wars and biggest losses of human life's in Eastern Europe (similar like Africa, Asia, S.America) and western politicians and agencies were always involved in these wars.
This undoubtedly leads to conclusion that Eastern Europeans are colony so some of them are more likeable some less but in overall they all are expendable in western mind.

They don’t like him because where he is from. They don’t like him because he is against prohibiting players from competing based on what their governments do. They labeled him an anti-science and anti-vax when he simply didn’t want THIS vax that wasn’t tested properly. He never advised for or against it, he simply wanted freedom over his own body. It is impossible to please his haters. If he says he’s injured they say he’s faking, if he is healthy and performing great then “he must be doping”. If he pays a compliment to another player then he’s not sincere, if he says he’s confident in himself then he’s arrogant.
Simply put-they made up their mind to do anything to destroy his credibility just because of where he’s from. If you look at Nikola Jokic they were doing the same thing to him too. It is horrible the lengths the western media will go to elevate those they deem “worthy” and destroy the ones they consider undesirable. Nikola Jokic at least plays in a team sport and has his teammates, but Novak stood on his own and has made them eat their words over and over again. If anyone else had to endure what Novak has been through I very much doubt they would accomplish half as much as he did. Despite everyone and everything. That is why us Serbs love him so much ❤

Novak Djokovic has always been viewed by the American conglomerate media machine (and to a lesser degree from the British who always had Andy Murray to promote) as an interloper on the GOAT train. There is no question now as to Djokovic's greatness and his place at the top of the tennis game. Now we hear the groans from the perpetual naysayers who never have anything good to say about anything, or smack comments with absurd nonesense from the algorithmic click-bait haters looking for eyeballs to comment on a topic generating some love. Novak prevails, and history shows how awesome his achievements are next to all comers.
