Why can't everyone else explain things so concisely? They'll say, "Ok, we're going to start doing this" but then, they'll talk about five different other things.
THAT WAS FANTASTIC! I've been using keyframes for years, but I've apparently been doing things the hard way. In five minutes you showed me 3 or 4 simple techniques that will make my life easier. Thank you!
yeah, i use the keyframe myself for make zooming in effects, now it takes 1minute lol... i did it wrong and it takes sometimes 30min+ for a little zoom
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful! I spent hours last week messing around in Fusion trying to do this simple thing and ended up with a mess. Your tutorial solved that issue in 5 minutes, so good on you. Thanks a ton!
For over a year I have been using keyframes and never understood what they actually did, only that they gave me the desired result. Thanks to you I finally understand what they do.
Thank you - transitioning from PowerDirector to DaVinci and 5 minute tips like this are perfect for someone who know how to do it in other packages and just needs to learnt he way DaVinci wants it doing.
That ease-in tip really helped. It must have been way back around 1987 when a colleague told me about right-click. Took a long time to figure out that it was a good thing to use to learn neat functionality. Somehow, with new and complicated programs, I tend to forget, but you have showed that would be a serious mistake. Thank you.
Alex, if 5 minute Fridays are going to be regular, please, please, please can you put them all together in a searchable form. I learn more from your five minutes videos, because the info is so well presented and easy to follow. That was keyframes made easy.
Hate myself for taking so long to switch over to DaVinci. Keyframing is way more easy to use on Davinci Resolve than Sony Vegas. Knowing a bit about keyframing made looking at it here way more simple as well. That line that shows time and where the object will move is so useful. Sony Vegas I would be guessing and clicking on each keyframe to see where everything sat. Glad I found this channel to learn.
That right click and Ease In/Out is amazing. I suppose it is somewhere in Blackmagic Design's enormous manual but I'd have never have found it. Thanks for the tip.
Thank you! I'm new to Davinci Resolve and this tutorial helped me a lot. Very well made video, straight to the point with no filler, and very well taught!
I use keyframes all the time when zooming in on a video and following something moving... like my daughter playing football. I'm not sure if viewing the transform window will be better when doing this but gonna try it. Another brilliant tutorial!
The last few tips about easing by right-clicking were huge! I've been using Davinci Resolve for a few years now and had no idea you could do that. Thanks for help!
Keyframes are actually very simple, logical and powerful. Right now, thanks to your tutorials Alex. When I was starting my editing adventure, I was thinking of keyframes and fusion as some high level, complicated tools for professionals. Nowadays I'm still looking at Fairlight tab with that kind of weariness 😉
I just watched a much more complicated video that didn't even work with gifs or other video clips. Now after 5 minutes I learned how I can make the walking polar bear gif go across a video clip with a subscribe button. I'm about to be unstoppable on youtube
Thank you so much! Firsr of all, super happy you actually zoom in on where you click because I have like a 10% eyesighr and I watched so many tutorials already where it was super hard to follow, simple because of vision - so thanks! 👀 Im a noob with animations but this was very well explained and easy to understand! 🎉
Thanks so much. Been using keyframes to animate for years, but am new to DaVinci and learning the placement of the all tools I'm familiar with is taking some time. The ease in and out and straight line trick from Adobe Photoshop are nice tips.
Dude, thanks. Your explatation IS REALLY GOOD, I dont know much english and I understand much well all stuff that you said. Now I'm not a noob on davinci anymore
This just made my life so much easier. Went to reddit for advice and they were dicks and not helpful, came here and got the help I needed in under 5 min! Thanks again Alex!
Thank you! I've only started messing around with them on my own, and this has helped me understand them better. I'm still having trouble figuring out what happens when I click a keyframe and why sometimes it doesn't do what I want it to.
Didn't expect to learn something new with this vid! I use keyframes mostly for zooming/panning videos, never knew I could visualize them using Transform preview! I'll have to check if this can also be done with zooming/panning!
The awesome accent drew me in. The quality of information and ESPECIALLY the directness and under 5 minutes kept me. Liked, Sub,d....you rock sir!! Cheers
im trying to add a keyframe but for some reason my keyframes arent showing and yes i clicked on the keyframes icon and there arent any keyframes showing even when the video is acting like there's a keyframe there
Hi Alex I really appreciate of your tutorials. I would like to point on something: There are bugs in the Edit page. If I change the keyframe from linear to ease, the curve changes for all functions except Position. The function switches to ease, but the curve stays linear and I have to manually create it, and if I'm doing simultaneous zoom and position, it's impossible to match it manually. Also, it would be good to have a separate window just for keyframes in the Edit page like in the Color page, if it's a more complex animation and I'm doing it on the Timeline, it's messy because I have to stretch the track across most of the screen and shrink the other windows. In the Color page - If I animate any feature, it is not possible to copy and paste keyframes, I would also welcome the ability to reorder keyframes by dragging the mouse like in the Edit page. Thanks a lot for your great work. I love Resolve:)
I LOVE this! Thank you for this video show! I've wanted to learn how to do this and of course, just like Occam's Razor - it turned out to be a much simpler explanation than that I thought it would be! 💜💜💜😇
Hahahah Alex, I’ve been trying to add a power aura around an actor’s hand via key frames and it keeps turning out wrong…BECAUSE I’VE BEEN DOING IT WRONG!!! Wow, if you would’ve seen what I THOUGHT I was supposed to do, you would see I made it TONS more complicated than it needed to be lol. Thanks for this, man
I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE “EASE IN“ WAS VELOCITY!!! THANK YOU WTF. I hasp had no idea I could keyframe without using the numbers that’s makes things so much faster
Good breif tips as always. I like to use key frames to cheat when I don't want to fight with the automated tracker too, for basic tracking segments haha.
Perfect timing. Just what I was looking for. I’ve just had a Drone Adventure at the East Coast where there is some coastal erosion and I have a picture from 2019 and today that just about line up, so using these to change the opacity so the we can see the change. I hope it turns out okay. Any advice on my videos appreciated. I’ve become a little lazy with the editing lately.
Another Awesome FMF - love them keep them coming. Can you do 1 on for normalizing your volume? I spend hours trying to get the volume from music to the narrative to stay at the same level. Thanks Mate
Why can't everyone else explain things so concisely? They'll say, "Ok, we're going to start doing this" but then, they'll talk about five different other things.
god i love you. people yapping for 20 minutes to explain one simple thing are my biggest enemy. you are my strongest ally
THAT WAS FANTASTIC!
I've been using keyframes for years, but I've apparently been doing things the hard way. In five minutes you showed me 3 or 4 simple techniques that will make my life easier. Thank you!
Same here
Heyy dude. Thank you. Glad it was useful 🙂👍
Don't know about this. Almost my first month learning video editing, and now ot's the turn of keyframes
yeah, i use the keyframe myself for make zooming in effects, now it takes 1minute lol... i did it wrong and it takes sometimes 30min+ for a little zoom
Key frames are "key" to a smooth animation, you nailed this one - very helpful 🗝
Hey MrAlexTech, I'm just a beginner in DR and I'm really enjoying your tutorials. I've learned a lot! Thank you.
I use it all the time but still watched and guess what learnt something new…you are a legend
WOOOOWWW! You're the best presenter I've found so far. Nothing assumed, simple and direct.
Thank you - transitioning from PowerDirector to DaVinci and 5 minute tips like this are perfect for someone who know how to do it in other packages and just needs to learnt he way DaVinci wants it doing.
After I found this out, my current WIP edits have gotten so much better. I’m glad I gave this video my time!
LITERALLY EVERY "Move Images" TUTORIAL HAS OMITTED THE FACT THAT THERES A TRANSFORM TOOL. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME THIS EXISTS
That ease-in tip really helped. It must have been way back around 1987 when a colleague told me about right-click. Super easy after watching this... I've struggled with this until now every time I've tried to use keyframes. Thanks!
Love it, so concise. Thank you for not boring me with endless ramble. Subscribed.
This video is incredible. This 5 minutes has probably just allowed me to push the stacked amount of content I want to get out on a new page. Thank you
Greetings from Russia! I can't stop enjoying your lessons! I always learn something new for myself! God bless you!
Whenever I think I understand a topic, you always prove me wrong
Thanks a lot! 👍
Not wrong. You understand it better 😊
I did not know it was that simple to keyframe. This is a whole new skill under my belt. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Two times in a row this week you've saved me. Love this bite size Friday tips and the RUclips algo for recommending them to me.
Thank you! I'm new to Davinci Resolve and this tutorial helped me a lot. Very well made video, straight to the point with no filler, and very well taught!
Awesome. Your channel is the GO TO for fast and clear DaVinci learning!
Thank you! Didn't know about the clicking on the arrows, or the right click on the diamond button. Very useful
Another uncomplicated tutorial, no fluff, all value. Thank you!
I use keyframes all the time when zooming in on a video and following something moving... like my daughter playing football. I'm not sure if viewing the transform window will be better when doing this but gonna try it. Another brilliant tutorial!
This is the exact tutorial I was looking for! Super beginner friendly, slow paced, and very informative. Thank you!
Its been a year but i wanna say you are a absolute G for this
The last few tips about easing by right-clicking were huge! I've been using Davinci Resolve for a few years now and had no idea you could do that. Thanks for help!
As always, best five minutes I've spent all day.
Excellent Keyframes introduction. Builds up step by step to make sure all concepts and techniques are crystal clear and easy to follow. Thanks!
Thank you so much. After watching 3 other vides for a simple key frame I found this one the easiest to follow
Dude…YOU are the BEST when it comes to explaining DAVINCI. Case closed!
I know Davinci Resolve really well, but I actually learned a few new things. Bravo!
This is the best way of explaining keyframes, can you please do more tutorials like this one?
Keyframes are actually very simple, logical and powerful. Right now, thanks to your tutorials Alex. Love the 5 minute friday quick tips, very helpful. Thanks, Alex!
Thank you so much!

Im a noob with animations but this was very well explained and easy to understand! 🎉
This is the best description I have seen. Thank You!
The Best Tutorial On Keyframes... Handsdown, the best, simplest and sooooooo goood.
Thanks! Mate.
Thank you so much, i was about to give up searching on how to make images move smoothly and just at the end you told me how to do that! ^^
Oh my god! I am addicted to your explanation
Thank you for all the pro tips! I've been making a lot of explainer videos and these tips will really speed up the process :)
This just made my life so much easier. Went to reddit for advice and they were dicks and not helpful, came here and got the help I needed in under 5 min! Thanks again Alex!
I repeat myself: you're my jedi master of Davinci. Thank you !!
That right click to change to ease in 👌🏻thank you for that it will safe me so much time! 💋
Sooooo useful. I used vegas before this and.. well. The amount of doors opening up by using DaVinci feels tremendously good.
Thank you! I've only started messing around with them on my own, and this has helped me understand them better. I'm still having trouble figuring out what happens when I click a keyframe and why sometimes it doesn't do what I want it to.
Same here and it's aggravating the crap out of me!
😀
@MrAlexTech there is not a single video that you miss the phrase "like so" about 20 times
but, your videos are great, well done
Oooh that right click on the red thing! THANK. YOU.
Didn't expect to learn something new with this vid!
I use keyframes mostly for zooming/panning videos, never knew I could visualize them using Transform preview! I'll have to check if this can also be done with zooming/panning!
Thanks it was so “to the point” You’ve REALLY helped me put here thank you!!!
The awesome accent drew me in.
The quality of information and ESPECIALLY the directness and under 5 minutes kept me.
Liked, Sub,d....you rock sir!!

Perfectly explained! Helped me a lot
I thought this was done by overlay effects in fact it was key frames thanks man ❤

Great stuff! Thanks for the heads up on Keyframes.
I want LOTS more of this kind of content. I make animations way harder than they need to be clearly haha. Thanks, that was nice to watch!
I keep forgetting that the ease in/out feature exists. Great tips!
I LOVE this! Thank you for this video show! I've wanted to learn how to do this and of course, just like Occam's Razor - it turned out to be a much simpler explanation than that I thought it would be! 💜💜💜😇
this genuinely helped me so much, thanks!
This has changed everything. Thank you so much! I can now make memes.
You're the best Alex!
Excellent and extremely well done, thank you!
You're fun dude! Just found your channel and I'm really enjoying it. And oh yea - I learn some stuff too..
I really appreciate your content! Keep it coming pls 🙏
Cool. I didn't know how to do the "ease in and out" with Davinci. Thanks!
Hahahah Alex, I’ve been trying to add a power aura around an actor’s hand via key frames and it keeps turning out wrong…BECAUSE I’VE BEEN DOING IT WRONG!!! Thanks man got it now
Excellent as always, Alex 🤟🙏🏻
The button that controls all settings at the top at 2:01... that's what I was missing. Thank you!
Amazing and really helpful video, thanks so much.
Excellent! I really liked your train too😀
That's was amazing & really helpful, thank you so much ❤😊
How do I edit existing key frames?
Thanks for the vids, really helpful!!!
This is a great help!! Thank you!!!!
Thanks again. And I believe many more thanks wil come. 😃
Good breif tips as always. I like to use key frames to cheat when I don't want to fight with the automated tracker too, for basic tracking segments haha.
Thought I knew key frames but you showed me what I was missing.

Very nice and to-the-point information.
Brilliant now I can keyframe ......thank you 😀
Another Awesome FMF - love them keep them coming. Can you do 1 on for normalizing your volume? I spend hours trying to get the volume from music to the narrative to stay at the same level. Thanks Mate
Very good, thanks. Bookmarked for future reference.
