You two are absolute warriors! What an incredible ride in this video. Admittedly, I felt bad for you while at the same time giggling at Chad's impromptu commentary. Those roads were crazy, especially on a big bike, 2Up, and fully loaded. Props to you! Most impressive of all, I love how kind you are to each other. Hey Chad, thanks for creating a new word: mapholes! Now I feel bad about making a video roasting Garmin. I had it easy. Lol. Thanks again for another brilliant video.
Friggin' mapholes!!! 😀 Thank you, sir! We appreciate the kind words! But, to set the record straight... we're not ALWAYS that kind to each other. It's just that in the videos, it's difficult to see Rose slapping the back of my helmet. 😅
OMG ...those first words from Rosie ....Simply fantastic views looking down onto those twisty roads ... The AT has coped very well indeed with all those road conditions. The colours of those wee villages and towns are so in keeping with the rest of the country.... superb Thanks for taking us along with you Lesson for today ?? ... MAYBE best to keep to your original plans...and forget GOOGLE ...take care
Thanks for joining us! Luckily, thus far all of our mis-steps and mis-adventures have only added to the fun that is adventure riding! Even though, they may not be fun at the time (type-II fun).
I'd tell you to stop using Google Maps, but then we wouldn't have great videos like this! 😂After seeing the condition the nation highways in Peru, I'm not surprised the backroads are impassable. It's a wonder how anyone gets around at all. Another great video from you two. Thanks for showing us around.
Hi Rose & Chad, Great video. I haven’t checked-in in a while, my fault. I want to ride Peru. Your Spanish is real good, I’m impressed, I’m sure getting better everyday. I’m still trying to learn Spanish, every day a lesson for 2 years. I want to go back to South America. Que le vaya bien mis amigos.
Thanks! I'm not sure our Spanish qualifies as really good, but it's certainly passable... A little Spanish goes a long way, so If you've been taking lessons for 2 years, I'm guessing you'll do just fine! I would certainly recommend riding Peru if you ever have the chance!!! 💪
Yikes, what memories. Some of my greatest adventures have been striking out into the hinterlands of South America where maps are often little more than wishful thinking.
@@andrewthacker114 Yes! Quechua is the 2nd most spoken language in Peru. A lot of the names of Peruvian cities are derived from Quechua. Both "Pampa" and "Bamba" are fields or flatlands. Likely Pampa is highland flatlands and Bamba is lowland flatlands (but don't quote me on that). "Cocha" means lake... and like a lot of languages, they use compound words. So "Cochabamba" would be a city on the shore of a lake in the lowlands plains, and "Cochapampa" would be a city on the shore of a lake in the highlands plains...
@ I bet it’s a difficult language to understand, but you gave a few examples thank you. Their culture must be interesting. Thanks for sharing and explaining.
Another classic Chad and Rose adventure! Even without the moto-karaoke, that meltdown moment was priceless. Can't wait to see how they finally escape the detour chaos and find that cold beer! 😂
Looks like google maps dont do goat tracks 😲 that was a rugged do your head in day, my teeth are still chattering just watching it. Rose is a rock star of durability...👌
Always nice watching you guys, my wife and I are leaving in 2025 from Europe and shipping the bike to Brasil. We will be riding some of the same tracks so thanks for sharing. We will also be 2up on the AT, any suggestions on things we should bring with us for the AT? Or modifiy? thanks
Awesome - Good on you for not passing on Brazil. Too many riders just stick to the West Coast on their way to Ushuaia! As far at the AT - buy the BEST & STIFFEST suspension you can afford and have it properly set-up for your intended load. That's the #1 thing to do! Aside from that, crash bars, a bash plate... and carry a couple sets of rear brake pads and (possibly) spare clutch plates if you plan on riding a lot of challenging dirt tracks!
Road development projects can fall into the equivalent of a "Malthusian trap". Roads increase entails quality decrease, and predictably backroads become traps.
I’ve got to ask you, these places you have been to in the past, and now your here again, is there an end to exploring this part of the country, how long will you continue to trek in this part of the world before moving to somewhere like Mongolia, or the Himalayas , just curious, I never grow tired of where u are now, take care look forward to the next video as always, hang in there. Rob down in Ala.
Hey there, Rob! I (Chad) have been exploring South America for over 20 years now, about 5 of those on a moto. After visiting every country (except Venezuela), and crossing the Amazon, I finally feel as though I'm ready to move on. South America is such an amazing and diverse continent, that I really wanted to take my time and soak in as much as I could. Our next adventure will indeed be in the Himalayas. Stay tuned!!
LOL..... This addition made me laugh pretty good, I don't how many times we said "Oh Gxxgle" then later in the day, "F*ck You Gxxgle" Anyways another great addition you two.
I wish I could provide feedback on their routes the same way you can here in the US (report road closures, etc...) but they don't give you the option in Peru... 🤔
Hello, My brother’s been watching your videos for sometime now and he’s convinced me to start watching yours. Nothing like a good RUclips video. I was going through my photos on my laptop the other day and I noticed so many of my pictures were off. Some of them Were too bright. And others I just had to delete. But what I’ve noticed in some videos that people create is people tend to focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right or it just comes out that way. I guess what I’m saying is if you could do a way with the motorcycle shield as a lot of people do including itchy, boots, and many others. We would be able to see a better view in front of you instead of looking at a motorcycle shield. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and that you have good luck with your future endeavors. I continue to watch. See you on the road.
Hi there! Welcome to the channel and thank you for the feedback. All of our footage for Season 4 is already "in the can," but I will definitely take that into consideration for season #5. We'll be riding something much smaller, so no need for the additional wind protection we had on the Africa Twin!
Do I know that struggle. I've hit dead ends, stair cases, farmers fields. You just can't trust navigation. At least you find a place to stay, with the police hells.
@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets - a memorable one was on the outskirts of Manizales, Colombia. It was steep, narrow and dirt and suddenly stairs. It took me 35 minutes and I had to unload the luggage, to try to get turned around.
Your husband claims to be a civil engineer. Then he should also claim to know why hairpin bends on mountain roads often are unpaved. If he doesn't, he's just a rude engineer - not civil at all.
Actually, I believe he said, "I'm no civil engineer, but I've got some questions." If you have the answer, don't leave us in suspense. I'm curious myself.

The best part about coming home after a long weekend is tuning in for your latest video. Thanks for sharing. Every day in Peru is an adventure! 😮
Peru definitely puts the 'adventure' in adventure riding!!
Thanks for taking me to places I will never get to visit! I really enjoy your vlogs!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!

🤣
The locals certainly know the roads better than anyone. And when a road slides or collapses, word travels fast!
Another outstanding episode, made all the better by the best outro ever!
Ha ha! Thanks!! 😊

You're very welcome! 🍻
Brings back good memories of my ride from Portland to Ushuaia Argentina in 2016.
A lot has changed since then. A lot more WiFi and pavement... A lot more expensive, too!! 😳
You guys are a riot. Loved your latest update.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it...
Sometimes you gotta string up a tarp for shade sit down have a coffee ginger is good to bring down the adrenaline
Luckily at altitude it isn't hot... otherwise that would have been a much larger challenge!
Another great video Guys, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! What a ride guys which really tested your patience. I particularly loved the switchback challenge. Ride Safe👍
Ha ha... those switchbacks looked great from afar, but they were far from great!! 😅
Oh yes….those Google detours to nowhere…..your videos show the painful reality of adventure riding - keep up the fantastic work & ride safe !
We call it Google Roulette! 😅
Thanks!
Wow, thank you! You've topped our official sponsor list!! 💪
I’m guessing it’s days like these that will be told around a campfire more than most other days. Wonderful adventure.
Type-II fun! It's not an "adventure" if everything goes according to plan!! 😁
Very funny outro
Thanks for the ride
Ha ha... glad you caught that!
Great efforts, Weldon sweet couple, take care of yourself and be happy 👍👌💐🌹🤗

‘I Lived’, the song for you two.
Great song! 💚
Skills shown on the detour
Mad respect
It never really looks quite as steep of loose on video...
Google dead ends & graveyards, classic R&C misadventures again. That look her face @ 16:57 said it all !
Bwaa ha ha!! Type-II fun at its finest! 😆
Esto sí que es una aventura 🎉
For better or worse!! 😀

They do, but they call goat trails "highways". It can get confusing at times! 😂 And yes, Rose is bada**!
A prueba de todo, gracias por el tremendo paseo
Gracias por viajar junto con nosotros!

Very true! Especially in the Andes where they just can't keep up with the constant landslides!
For once the road sign was right .. well deserved break! Suerte

Turning around is very easy if you use the kickstand!!!
That doesn't work when fully loaded or on soft, loose terrain...

Classic the best way to get there is not to start from here 😮😅
If I had a nickel... 😅
