I went back to university when i was 34, finished my bachelors degree last year and now i'm half done with my masters degree and i'm 37 :D. Never too late to go back to school. You have a much better appreciation and motivation for learning when you are older. Wishing You all the best on this journey! :)
I'm already 31 and turning 32 in 2 months. I have yet to get my associates degree. I'm putting myself in the path to getting a degree but I'm not sure if I will succeed since I want a PhD as well.
@superfuresh I personally haven't changed jobs yet (been on a few interviews thou), so can't answer that part very well. But as far as I know, it's kinda illegal to dismiss a job candidate for their age or even ask such questions like why I graduated so late in life - at least in my country. :) but the short answer is - I like learning new things - actually that could be even a positive thing to bring out on a job interview.
Im 37 at Uni but Its really lonely I have no friends Im Austistic feel a bit like a loser. But on the bright side Im a bit ahead in that I own my own house and car.
I'm 24 and starting my freshman year at college this fall. I'm a first time student, and as anxious I am, I truly cannot wait to start! Waiting until I had more real life experience and were absolutely positive in what I want to study and do for the rest of my life has been the best decision and I wish it were more normalized!
How exciting! Sending you all the luck and good vibes :) I also started college when I was 24 and I'm almost done! Waiting was also the best decision for me too. What are you majoring in?
I went back to school at community college when I was 24. I'm 25 now and starting my second year in 4 weeks. While at times I regret not going away to university I also know that I might not have been happy. It's all the missed university experiences from 18 to 22 that I missed out on that make me regret that decision. At 18 graduating high school, I had 0 ideas of what I wanted to do with my life. I took the time to explore different options and while I'm still not 100 percent decided on a degree I am taking classes and starting to figure it out.
It sounds like our experiences are very similar! I hope you are enjoying college so far and I'm so excited to hear that you are beginning to figure out what you may want to pursue. Please keep my updated!
I think the question we should all ask ourselves, why are we getting the degree? What are we *really* hoping to achieve with the degree. If your first answer is to 'get a job' then you may have to reconsider the degree since, now that you're older, you may not be able to invest the time and money into the full degree path. My point is, just having a degree isn't going to land that perfect job. There are STEM majors out there that hate their jobs. The perfect job can't be A=B as in You get the degree and the job is there for you. You have to think, 'What is the knowledge (the college degree) and skill sets that I'm looking for that will enable me to get the career I want?' This is another thing that's hard to accept, but college truly is for passion. You can get away with earning a certificate at a community college and getting a job there after but you have to find motivation day in and day out to continuously take classes and get that overpriced piece of paper.
This made me so at ease, I’m almost 25 and I finally realized what I actually wanted to do! I beat myself up over not going to school it sooner for a while. But now I’m more confident in my decision 😌
Graduated high school at 16, went to college took up Accountancy, took a semester break after a year, went back took up Biology, then shifted very quickly to teaching school, majoring in Social Studies. Was a semester shy from graduation, dropped out. Realized didn't want to become a teacher. I went to pursue a career in design, ended up designing for 9 years, but just the other day, I realized i wanted to get a bachelor's degree. So now, with covid19 happening, am trying my best luck to obtain my records from my previous school (in another city) to transfer to a school nearby, so i can commute and still do my business. It was a fantastic ride, i had many rollercoaster moments in between, like everyone, i met many different kinds of personalities, had many highs and many lows. But i always felt like there's something more i am not giving to the world. And the pandemic has helped me in realizing that. So 3 days ago, I decided to go study Marketing Management. Wishin everybody their luck!!! Sorry for my short novel. Stay safe guys
I'm 34 and feel like I still don't know what I want to do. I've always been really good with computers, I'm wanting to go back to college, but I'm so afraid of failing and being in debt again.
If you like IT, think about web development. You don't need to go to college for that. There are courses on Udemy and even codecademy to train you. There are also books for beginners you can buy on amazon to get you started. Fun fact, coding is actually fun. Don't believe me? Code your first HTML5 document and you'll understand exactly what I mean.
I decided to go back this past semester! I am also 26, I will be 27 in a few months and I feel like I am more dedicated now than I was back when I was 18!
Melodey F I’m almost 24, I’m going to college next year at 25! Sometimes I feel sad because I didn’t experienced somethings, my friends going to college also made me feel I little bit shifted, and wondering about what I wanted in my life. But let’s see! It’s never to late to happiness
Life's a journey not a destination. Enjoy every minute of the process. Belmont is a wonderful school and an amazingly supportive and positive environment.
I WISH I did it the way you did. As much as dorm life was fantastic to me, I was SEVENTEEN when I was a freshman in college. I literally cried at orientation because they expected me to pick a major. Lol. I'm 24 now and still lost. But you're killing it. Proud of you b 💜
Lindsay Papciak love you so much. I am a firm believer that our paths are all meant to be and we eventually find our way. Love you so so soooo much. ❤️
It is never too late to start something new. Just take some time for yourself and think about what are your interests and about what you love. You will always find a way, never doubt yourself!!
Im 25 and will be starting college in the fall. Things happened after high school and now Im finally moving forward to the first step in my carreer. Im super excited!! Thanks so much for this vid. 😊❤

I’ve followed your videos since the beginning, years and years ago, and today I stopped to watch your latest videos since I haven’t watched any for a while and I can’t express how happy I feel watching you create your life and being happy.. it's a different feeling and i love it! I wish you every success in the world! kisses from Brazil
Happy for you! I didn't finish my program at MI but I don't regret my time there. Learned a lot and met some amazing people. Deciding to go to normal college was the best decision Ive ever made and I just got my Masters degree in HR management. Good luck on the rest of your college career! You got this ☺️
Thanks Skye! That’s so awesome to hear! Congrats on your masters! What an accomplishment! Wow, MI was such an amazing time in my life. I wouldn’t take it back for anything!
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I think it's so brave of you to 1. Realize this about yourself as you seem very self aware and 2. Are thinking about going back to school! There is no timeline for an education. I am rooting for you!
I am a music therapy student (25 years old). I have a 4 year degree in music (B.A. Music) and finished my academic work in the Spring of 2020 for a second Bachelors (B.M. Music Therapy). My internship search and experience is on hold as I figure out a lot of things. Just wanted to say “hey!”
Hey Joan! So nice to see a fellow music therapy student in the comments :) congratulations on finishing your coursework! And good luck with the internship search. Take your time. What’s meant to be will come :)
I wish I had of waited. I went right after high school and it was hard. I didn’t give myself a break in between a hard final year. Rushed into something I didn’t want to do. So proud of you though! Good luck with everything! Also, happy belated birthday! -Melanie: Aephorica ❤️
This is a very inspiring video thank you for making it. I have been a guitar player since the late 1980s, and have always considered doing some thing with music just didn't know what, have never been to college after high school, and I am just turned 40 this year. Looking for a new career change in my life, going to be moving to a place where there is a lot more opportunity, I think that this would be a fantastic journey for me as well I hope your career in music therapy works out for you, and look forward to hearing how things go. Wishing you all the best and thanks once again for such a inspiring and moving video
I'm almost 33 and just deciding that I want to be a lawyer lol. I'm glad I'm not alone. Edit: When I was in high school, my therapist suggested music therapy to me. I loved music and psychology and still do. Good luck!
OMG you’re literally me!!!! I’m literally you!!!!!! I’m 22 and went to a Bible college right out of high school and it was great. But I’ve always wanted to pursue music!
