The main reason I prefer the double flap is that it holds its shape better

Both are beautiful. I would definitely go for the double flap, it's just more practical! A place for everything! My need to have things exactly where I want them would be satisfied!
That "lipstick holder" used to be a pocket for a little bottle of the Original Eau de Cologne (Kölnisch Wasser) also knows as 4711, I guess, or it could be a pocket for a Chanel Perfume. A lot of bags back then have had a similar pocket inside for that reason. Thanks for the comprarison.
Both are beautiful! I bought the jumbo in silver caviar in 2014 , it's so stunning, great investment bag for sure! Prices are sky rocketing, so I'm grateful to have it 👍🏻😍

I have the single Chanel flap jumbo size & you sum up the reason why I purchased it versus the double flap. Like you, I want a lighter bigger bag where I don’t have to worry about how much I can put inside & the added weight. I’m also the type to pack my bags full considering I’m just over 5 feet. So the single flap works better for me. Thanks for a very informative comparison especially to those who are planning on getting the Classic flap.
That Chanel single flap is gorgeous! I would definitely buy that one over the double flap, bc I need more room to put stuff to =)

Agreed. Can’t bear to carry a double flap jumbo caviar. The M/L one which I have is so darn heavy. It’s really hard to come across a good condition single flap though, yours looks amazing!
Hi Kristina! I share the same view and sold my double flap too. I have only one double flap vintage square medium which I keep as it's so rare. My other vintage Chanels and red jumbo caviar are all single flaps. As you said, practicality wins over sentimentality 😊😊😊

loved your videos. I have a problem with the side gusset on my small medium double flap. A crease has formed along the bottom. Have you noticed any creasing anywhere??? Chanel told me not to store it in its box all the time as it has to breath, but will not repair or send it back for checking. I also have the jumbo in gold like you, and am now concerned the same thing might happen.

Hi ,love your videos , I have a question I got a Chanel double flap bag for my 50 th birthday , but the inside snap is hard to close , is your like that is that common . Should I call my SA and bring it back , I’d never use the inner snap anyway , what are thoughts , thanks

Thank you. I wish that I had been able to get a single flap years ago. Though I like my jumbo classic flap more than my medium classic flap, it still is a pain to use and it still holds very little. I prefer the 22 tote style or my 19 better because of ease of use and what it can hold. Maybe I will keep an eye out for the single flap on the resale market.
Do you like the gold or silver hardware better? I tend to wear way more gold jewelry but I’m wondering if the silver is less flashy and more subdued. Do you have a preference?

I love my single, hated the double. Are you selling the double because why did you get both in black caviar with gold and silver being the only differences. They're practically identical. Because if you aren't selling it, you basically paid 10k for less leather. I would have atleast gotten one in lamb and in a seasonal color or different style so I felt like I had more options. Beautiful bags though. They'll last you decades as long as you stuff them and never go crossbody.
