- And so we jump into something extraordinary. This is a bucketlist check for me to have on the channel. Those that know the history of the brand, know that there is one car that rings more bells that any other with the four rings, and one that is probably the most expensive today. The Audi S1 E2 is a legend, an icon. It did something extraordinary in the 80’s in world of Rally. The Audi Quattro S1 was the first four wheel drive car there and won everything over and over again. It was the start of something that is going on still today: quattro. Then, this S1 E2 followed and was produced in 1985-1986 and later to win the Pikes Peak in 1987. Big thanks to my friend Carparazzi for setting this shoot up and making this possible. It’s a perfectly made replica, with some absolutely insane sounds and performance numbers. Every single person on the road turns his head and breaks his neck when this car comes.

I got to sit in a passenger seat on Jari Pehkonen's s1 e2 about 24 years ago on an ice track here in Finland. God damn it was crazy experience. One of the greatest single moments in my life as a long life motrosport enthusiast..

It may not have been able to keep pace with the developement of the Lancia Delta S4 and the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo or even the RS200 by late 1985/86 despite the having huge power but my god the S1 Evo2 was still the car we all wanted to see and hear on the stages at the time.
That 5cyl S1 E2 sound is iconic in a way the others could never match even with the combined supercharger howl and turbo of the Delta S4

Hi to all. The beasts were not named by chance. Great video, I close my eyes and remember. I was lucky enough to experience them up close at that time at the races and I will never forget the wonderful sound of the five-cylinder Audi engine that even today cannot be compared to anything else. Audi innovated by combining all-wheel drive with a turbo for the first time in both racing and conventional models.
Not taking anything away from this beast, but its a replica, very nicely done.
You can tell this thing is a beast, wants to run right off the road but you gotta have a good driver to keep her in check! A real beauty👌❤

@@Auditography When Olle Arnesson drove his S1 at a circuit called Högsta Track here in Sweden outside Stockholm i was just a few meters from the track. The car had 700-800 hp and the sound was bonechilling. Tommy Kristoffersson (Johans father) drove a Audi Urquattro then with an engine from the IMSA GTO and he told us that he had to tune it down because it was to damn fast to handle...

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-((
