- Gateway Church founder and senior pastor Robert Morris resigned amid allegations he sexually abused a woman in the ‘80s, starting when she was 12 years old.
The "elder" is making it worse with his fake crackling voice and dry sniffle. He needs to know that his act looks absolutely artificial and ridiculous. 🙄🤐
I thought he was sickeningly and obviously phony too. All that sobbing and blubbering was pure theatre.
This is so disgusting. How low can they go.

Funny how big money always seems to be around the church leadership.

I mean, they even said before we hired him, we were made of where, but they were saying they didn’t know the full extent because they didn’t know that she was 12 at the time the abuse started he made it seem like he had relations with an older girl like a teenager or something like that, not a minor childbut they could’ve asked for more details. They could’ve done a little more probing than they did, but he should’ve been sent to the moment. The abuse was found out by her parents.

Oh, there was one that said you had time early on in the Gateway church. They knew he had an extra marital relationship but but they didn’t know it was sexually abusing a 12-year-old but it’s because he talking about Morris used his words carefully by saying a young lady, so most people think when you say young lady, you teenager teenager age not Innocent 12 year old that can’t consent to stuff like that and then trying to make it seem like she was tempting him and all these other things just make himself look a tiny bit better and then in 2005 when she tried to do something about it and have a conversation with him he tried to pay her off and have her sign an NDA. And Cindy‘s right about you yes biblically I am supposed to forgive him, but that doesn’t mean he should be allowed to not have the consequences for his actions which should’ve happened when she was a kid that shouldn’t be. She shouldn’t be fighting for that now it should’ve already happened, so shame on the people that knew about it back when she was a kid or too afraid to step on toes and report it

Forgiveness comes after repentance, which he did not truly do. That involves saying and admitting the whole truth and turning from it. He abused her for 4 years and then lied about it. That's not repentance. Forgiveness also does not mean enabling crime.

As someone who goes to this church, I feel extremely betrayed and mad, but that is not our fault. However, you should be part of a church. Hebrews "24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Praying to Jesus for forgiveness is a Roman Catholic concept, and the words catholic and catechism aren't in the Holy Bible. Jesus of Nazareth said it was futile to pray for yourself because if God thought you needed something He would have given it to you already. He said to pray for your enemies, and pray in private, not publishing online for the world to see.

As a member of the Gateway Church, I wish you would not riot outside of the church. I am very mad at Pastor Robert, but he has resigned, and our elders have come out with a statement that is very apologetic and they are going to get an independent review board to look into the facts and press charges if warranted. Now I love my church and stand with the elders who love us. They will find a new leader for this church so please do not make people like me feel guilty for being part of this church by rioting outside of it!

What was done 35 or 41 years ago was wrong.
Morrison confronted the victim and her Father years ago and asked for forgiveness.Morrrison disclosed his sins to elders few years ago.
What should have done is the victim requested some form of compensation for damages done.This should have been granted to the victim.

Repentance requires humbling yourself. We are also called to live under the law of the land, which would have required turning himself in. Forgiveness also does not allow for a return to leadership.
