NOAA Weather Radio - Severe Weather Warnings

- The remnants of tropical storm Fay spawned several tornado and flash flood warnings today (8/26/2008). I recorded some of these using my Radio Shack PRO-94 (no bloody A, B, or C) scanner. I used a cable to connect the headphone jack of the scanner to the line-in on the PC's sound card for better sound quality. I had to relocate the scanner toward the end of the clip because my PC was causing too much interference. NOAA weather radio stations recorded were WXJ-21 and WXL-56.

This is probably the most nostalgic NOAA Weather radio related video, considering it was one of the first I watched back in 2009-2010.
Best hand held scanner I've ever owned.
Wishing it was the pro-95 but we sometimes don't get everything we want in life.

I remember sitting at my house in anderson sc watching the trees swirling outside my house and lightning striking every few seconds. And after the issued one warning, my two weather radios would go off again. My dad works in Clemson and was watching that tornado in clemson. It was scary but quite interesting.

If this was transmitted over television, you would have seen the following text crawl at the top of your screen:
"The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Abbeville, SC, Anderson, SC, and Greenville SC beginning at 3:23 pm and ending at 4:08 pm (KGSP/NWS)"

@ColonelAngus75 It's intended for fire, EMS, HAM radios, CBs, weather radios, marine radios, and "trunks" (even though I own a scanner, I still have no clue what those are).
2008 was such a good year.. breaking bad came out, GTA 4 came out, met my friend, and lots and lots of storm chasing with my dad

Wow, it’s one thing to watch this video all this time later, but if I had been there that day listening to all this, I would’ve been terrified. I hate tornadoes! I live in the Midwest so we have to live with them some, but to have almost every warning be a tornado warning! I would have lost it lol.

Hey, does anyone know about a female Imperfect Paul voice? The only time I've heard it was at night for the current time in Randallstown, MD. It was a lot like the "long lost video" that comes up first in searches, but female and a lot more "garbled" sounding.

My area had a record of 12 ALERTS! :)

Is a scanner the same thing as a normal weather radio?
Scanners monitor *most* radio frequencies, while weather radios only monitor weather frequencies.
Oh, So it can pick up different frequencies depending on its potential?(weather,EMS etc.)and from all around the world/country?
also another question,Is a weather scanner only for certain people ,or is it for everyone that constantly travels?
