Wish more media outlets would cover him. Very great story, dropped from DD, almost not touring and basically retiring, to being 11th in the dgpt standings as an open bag player betting on himself. Awesome to see and rooting for him hardcore.
Was great seeing Ezra finish top 3!
After watching his practice round with Brodie, I had a feeling he'd be in the top 10. That putt was looking good. We just won't talk about that first throw of the second round. Been there, done that.

10 1/2” is my “hang loose” spread from thumb to pinky. I have measurements all over my hands (4” from outside pinky knuckle to first finger knuckle across my palm, etc…) from years of woodworking/carpentry, it really speeds things up in the shop. 😂🤙

Yeah. 9 down through 10 and had gained 4 of the 6 he needed. That ob on 11 just took him out of his flow state and couldn't find it again until his putt on 17. He will get one this season.
He relies to much on overstable discs. Which is kinda gay. Disc golf has lost its touch with normal stability. Barry Shultz is 🤴

The culinary school in Charlotte is Johnson & Wales University.
The ceiling is high now for sure. I’m a local MPO player. Disc golf is a competitive hobby for me. This past weekend I played in the 41 annual dogwood crosstown and averaged 992 golf in a B tier to finish 3 way tie in 10th out of 35 MPO competitors.

Yeah nowadays, you can see really good players on third and fourth card ect. Wouldn’t it be nice if they had other media companies cover those cards. Oh that’s right dgn put an end to that with their crappy live coverage.

Where I live one of the local community colleges is a very respectable culinary school. Basically, if you go there you are absolutely guaranteed a job probably anywhere in the state.

Johnson and Wales is a top tier culinary school
Until they win world titles they haven’t replaced anything. Some regular season wins, if you will, ain’t cutting it to be considered the greats.
Something I do not think people realize, disc golf is growing from every direction, slowly.

Just a correction, Paul signed his contract in 2019.
I disagree with Hunter on frame by frame, not necessarily applying it to step putts or jump putts(I agree with him when it comes to that thought. If you can't catch it in real time, doesn't give the player an advantage). My singular thought is no one is paying attention to it ever(those on the cards). I think in the past few years, live coverage, I have seen 4 or 5 people throw their shot from OB. (For example, I will use Emporia CC, Hole 18). You cross in bounds, but you have the OB behind you(sidewalk). If you take your meter in(or not), perpendicular to the OB, it doesn't necessarily put you farther away from the OB line necessarily for your run up on the next shot. I know there are more examples of dog legs that this could also apply to, but this is the one I thought of first.

You guys gotta stop lumping Ricky and Paul in the same group. Paul seems to have fallen off but Ricky literally JUST won the Pro Tour Championship a few months ago, was 2nd to AB like a month ago at the first pro tour event this year, and is always in the mix. Ricky ain’t getting “replaced” by anyone just yet, kids.
Edit: now that I’ve watched/listened to the podcast, I don’t think they ever actually even said AB and Buhr could be replacing Paul and Ricky during the episode lol got me!

What they are being compared to is the prime of Ricky and Paul. From 2014 to 2019 it was tough to find someone other than Ricky or Paul winning any event. It was complete dominance. Gannon and AB have looked crazy this season so far!

paul won world with discraft in 2019 so the millions $ deal was not in 2021 it was 2019 and Calvin only won 2 events the whoe year
It's the rules, that's why it matters.. if you keep jump putting and you know you are airborne before the disc leaves your hand, that's crazy. I guess cheating isn't cheating if it's not called. People aren't posting those pics because they think they need to be called during the round. They are triggered because you should have more integrity and stop cheating since no one's going to call you on it.
If it's obvious then it should be called; frame by frame isn't obvious .I was in a friendly tourney and I was drilling step putts so the card was watching very closely and basically called me out on one. So, from then onward I just really made sure it wasn't close. The last thing I want is an unfair advantage or to be called a cheater, but in the moment maybe I got a little loose with it

Was initially a joke, but after finishing the episode and thinking about it there is actually some validity to the comment. Missed take after missed take, some weeks I wonder if you guys even watch the tournaments or if its cramming infor the hr before the episode. I dont know how often Ive heard you guys repeat a take that another analyst took, that was so far off.. that if you had just been watching coverage you'd realize how comical the take was. I get you guys have a lot going on, but maybe find some new people for these positions? Find some people that are fresh and still into competitive disc golf. Also, if you want to help DG grow.. maybe get a female on here to help get some FPO views? 🤷🏽
They definitely have too much going on and are at the point where they are just going through the motions on this show. The preview show is a lot better. Seems like they do more prep work ahead of it than Grip Locked. I prefer the Upshot these days, but I still love this crew here.
I didn't like this course at all for video purposes. Everything just kind of looked the same. I can see why it would be fun to play, it's basically a pro level version of your local park. But as far as watching it on video, it didn't do much for me at all. The players made it fun by playing well but I wasn't looking forward to any holes or any specific shots.
Kyle Klein could go off 2 or 3 times this year.
Cities are putting in their first course, others are putting in 1 or 2 new courses, and still others are making improvements to existing courses. Announcers and high resolution cameras os what disc golf needs

MPO field needs to be bigger. Player pools are too small to allow people to make money cashing. Also putting and driving distance needs to be made more difficult via smaller baskets and lighterweight discs.
