A feature on a vehicle that does the work a ordinary non mechanic car owner can do , but if it breaks it requires an experienced technician with expensive hardware. Can we take a moment to digest how stupid we all must all be to normalise this kind of device.
I either turn mine off if I can or take them out, I'm not lazy, I check my tyres visually every morning and check the pressures weekly, done this on cars and bikes now for over 50 years.
They are there because a flat tyre may not be obvious to many drivers. I have often seen people driving on a flat. So the TPMS could, in theory, prevent an accident.
We have just replaced all four of the TPMS sensors on my wife’s 2015 Vauxhall Viva costing £400 in total. In my opinion, they are a waste of time. We are breeding a generation who rely on tech rather than knowledge of basic maintenance.
The launch combo looks a great bit of kit I have been using autel diagnostics which is not as good as this launch set up I'm waiting for a demo from launch/think car rep the only thing is with Ford the learn mode with ignition and brake pedal and magnetic works.
I bought chinese TPMS sensors for £35. Came pre-activated (meaning, you don't need the special activation tool, only programming into the ECU, which I can do myself). So far, it has covered approx. 40-50k miles and still working, pressure and temps are accurate. When my current tyres need replacing, I'll be replacing with chinese sensors again, batteries must run out at some point....
Can you turn this function off ?? is it in the car menu or do you need a scan tool ?? Stupid idea - dumbing down the driver - if nothing else a driver should be able to check tyres lights wipers etc - and CHANGE A WHEEL !! My mate used to get called out to break downs for flat tyres - there was a spare there and a spare part sitting in the drivers seat !!! 😂

On another note, I hate Fords and their stupid wheel nuts!

Same here wish I could turn ours off!
I took them all out of my Lex.Bloody stupid things haha.
Checking tyre pressures? Tyre pressure gauge Halfords :- £12.
I turned my tyre pressure sensors of on my ford focus main reason was how much sensor they cost so much simpler with it turned of
I would as well 💪
Aren't you meant to start re training them on the left front and go clockwise around the car?
Yes, always start relearning on the front left. There's a couple of manufacturers that relearn from the front right, but not fords.

Something i learned especially with Launch tpmsgun is to hold it against the rubber. Learns faster. Great video as always
