    There are special jigsaw blade, like BOSCH T313 AW, designed for cutting soft material.

      You're totally right, Turuq! Jeff didn't have that on hand but thankfully this blade still did the trick.

    Would an oscillator multi tool work?

      Hey Mafioso, an oscillating multi-tool could work but you'd probably be fighting pretty hard to get a straight line. I'd also compare the torque of your tool to the model of jigsaw Jeff used. Good luck!

    Would a table saw work?

    • @WBToolNews
      @WBToolNews  2 года назад +3

      I think there would be two issues with a table saw, 1 - the stall mats are VERY heavy, it would be very challenging to maneuver the mat. 2 - Using a table saw or circular saw could be very dangerous. The rubber could cause the blade to bind or jump unexpectedly. I would suggest steering clear for these reasons. Safety first!

      @@WBToolNews Thank you. These are 42" x 42" rubber tiles for a fitness center. Maybe about 30 lbs each. I was concerned about the blade heating but that is a good point. Thx.

    A jigsaw is no precise tool when cutting straight lines

      You're right, a jigsaw isn't the most precise but it is a great tool for this and thankfully this project didn't need an ultra precise tool.
