I share a similar take with the recent Ed McGuinness Superman (also the Bizarro & Batzarro): They are as close to a perfect translation from comic to figure could ever be, yet everyone shoots for the low hanging fruit of them using the DKR body molds as if those weren't accurate to the muscular bodytype Ed draws.
I think you made some fair points here. We can have both designs of the characters and if it's something that doesn't appeal to us, just skip it. What's the harm in that? We live in a day and age where it's about "instant gratification" and the need to have everything we want all at once. It's just not possible. I think the New 52 Cyborg Superman looks awesome. I cannot wait to get him. I actually prefer the new looks on figures because I enjoy the new sculpts and extra detail that we get with those new styles. On the flip side of that, I can also appreciate the sleeker classic designs and I collect both. Is McFarlane doing everything right? Well of course not but I believe he is giving us a LOT of variety which keeps me very interested and engaged. There is a little something for everyone to collect and I think that's what is important. Love the video and the discussion. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your thoughts of the Superman and Brainiac Page Punchers!

Yeah, dude. Crazy how so many people don't understand that popular characters and classic versions have to be spread out over time in the line for longevity. We will definitely get a classic version of Cyborg Superman, but in the meantime the new 52 version is so sick!
I'm happy with all of them. The only nitpick I have is Atom's painted belt. Should have been sculpted or an added piece, since it's the source of his power.
It’s good to get figures that have never been out before, instead of more of the same that there are tons of options to get. I out the armor of both Superman figures on Darth Vader, the Rock Black Adam, necas Homelander, other Superman figures and others. The armor being removable to on other figures is great selling point!

Bones always come here with facts and logic! One thing I really hate in situation like these is that some collectors really shown themselves as selfish jerks without empathy, when they ask shit like "who asked for this". They just want everything carters to them and it is so childrish that make my eyes roll whenever I saw those comments. Like you said, we can enjoy both, and if we don't, we move on and wait for the next, this is what a mature collector should do insteading whinning constantly like babies on reddit and social media..

I've bought different Batman figures from the DC Multiverse line starting from the Arkham Knight Batman since 2020 and oddly enough, I never wished for a "real classic" Batman look since there are a lot of DC Multiverse Batman figures to choose from over the years. It took four years for us to get Batman's original costume from 1939 for those who really want a "classic" Batman though. I say...more Batman for me, the better.
I have been enjoying the line since 2020 when I picked up my first figure at Walmart. It was the Hellbat figure and I've been collecting since. The only issue I've had outside of some major QC is the lack of extras that come with the figures. I wish they would fill the boxes more. Other than that, I am really enjoying the line.
Wasnt New52 considered an unpopular failure? They undid most of it. It would have made more sense to go with the iconic 90s version, which got a lot of press and exposure during the Death arc.
Compa, I couldn´t agree more and don´t know if you remember but thank you for recommending the Sabbac figure, its perfect, for me one of the better sculpt figures even if you compare it with other far more expensive Toy companys and now its even cheaper, I don´t know if people realized what they are missing!
I think maybe you misunderstood some people. I have never heard anybody say that they just want classic versions with no sculpted details and everything just painted on a smooth buck. Thats what essentials was. What I do hear a lot and I myself want is yes, classic versions of characters. But with sculpted details that are a part of the character design. Maybe there's some people that don't like the ultra detailed texture sculpting but even that I think most people are cool with. Where did you hear people asking for only classic designs with no sculpted details or textures? I've been a part of the dcm online discourse since todd got the license and I've never once heard anyone say that.

You couldn't have said it any better. There is no wrong way to collect, just buy what you like and pass on by if you don't. It seems to be the classic/G1 collectors that are the most toxic in the toy community. If it don't look identical to the classic look all they do it talk crap and say everything sucks. Personally i prefer the detailed more modern looks. The page punchers he has done are the best in my opinion. I like the different looks because it gets boring looking at the same thing over and over.
Yes I really enjoyed this video. I agree with everything the gentleman on the video said. Because there are some DC MULTIVERSE action figures and Mega Figs I don't like. But most of them I do like. Most of them I brought. Cyborg Superman, I can't wait to buy him. I personally don't care what kind of Cyborg Superman we get. Because I've been waiting for him for about a year or two now. So I'm very excited to hear that he's finally coming out. I enjoy collecting DC MULTIVERSE action figures and Mega Figs. I have some ideas for some more figures for Todd to make. But like the gentleman said on the video, Todd can't make everything at one time. But the main thing is being patient. Having patience is the key. I can't wait for Darkseid to make it's appearance as a Mega Fig. But I would like to see Grail, Darkseid's daughter as a 7" DC MULTIVERSE action figure. I would like to see Orion and Grayven the sons of Darkseid as Mega Figs too. Now the big question is will he make those figures. Maybe. Or maybe not. I hope so. But now that's going to be entirely up to Mr. Todd McFarlane. There's plenty more figures that I would like to see Todd make. But again. Got no choice but to wait on Todd.

I am also hella excited about this version! If it’s not your thing then just skip it, move on and wait for the one you want. With the Mcguinness design Supes, that’s not my cup of tea. I do like his design, but that fig is not what I’m looking for. Easy pass, moving on. Like my last comment on another one of your vids, we’re in a good spot with McFarlane DC. The sculpt, articulation, paint, accessories and price just slaps previous DC multiverse attempts. We’re out of the “dark ages” of DC Multiverse figs now. Enjoy this time!

BRO!!!! I don't understand why anyone is so narrow minded. The Best part of collecting is the different figures. The ones that are first release and different. For years we have been getting the same crap classic stuff. I love them like anyone else but SH..T the new Figures is what makes this hobby exciting. Those clean figures are boring and yet when they do release them the same people complain anyways. I haven't read a comic in 20 years and I still understand why we need different figures base on anything to keep the line alive.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest McFarlane doing re-use, that's how we're going to get our classic costumes with 90% of the classic looks just being spandex! Dc icons/essentials fizzling out was not because people wanted modern intricate designs if anything I'd say that's what they put out most of but the reason it fizzled out was because dc collectibles all but abandoned them for whatever reason and it wasn't because they put out too many classic characters! For me that's why I'd rather have the classic version first so if for whatever reason the line gets abandoned we're not stuck with incomplete teams and gaps or characters that were never released i.e. power rangers legacy/lightning collection or Ghostbusters plasma series! McFarlane's doing better sales with his classic designs than he ever did and now that he's finally doing more classic designs it's a head scratcher when he does put out the overly detailed waves like the new page punchers wave and for most people it's just a wasted release spot!
Mcfarlane won the best selling action figure line in his second year... Not one classic spandex figure was released... So I'll just let Mcfarlane run the line .. what ever way you wanna twist it... DC Essentials/ Icons didn't sell... I say because the whole appealing to only Collectors was a bad business model... Either way... Both lines blew dog...💀

People forget that Mcfarlane has been pumping out so many figures and he’s actually been listening to the fans’ complaints. Fans don’t seem to really pay attention to what he’s been doing. Sometimes, updated appearances look better than classic designs (like that harpoon hand Aquaman). Not only that but some “modern” renditions are just fun to pose around! There are too many interesting DC character designs he hasn’t made yet. He’ll do classic, but I generally prefer the uniquely sculpted figures he’s already done, like Injustice Brainiac or Mister Freeze. Classic figures are kinda boring since they can just be repaints over and over, so it’s not that exciting.
I love. That cyborg sups design even tho I do want the classic one. And I am sure we will get down the line I love almost all the versions McFarland gives us there are some.of them I am not a fan of and I just don't get them what's the problem? Just wait for something that I like later on my only complaint is that many of his figures. Sold out. Super quick everywhere and they are very hard and some almost imposible to get 😢
