i always felt like my birthday is the day when i have to be happy and smile about every gift i'm given. but the worst part and what made me hate it even more than that alone is that i genuinely cared about not disappointing my family members who try to make me happy that day. it's heartbreaking. been that way since i was a little kid. i was always the most unhappy on my birthday. when i got into my teens, they would stop planning birthdays for me and i wouldn't do it either. in my grown up life i always take care not to mention my birthday if not specifically asked for. i don't know many people anyway and so it's mostly a day like any other. i turned 40 this year and i didn't do a thing that i wouldn't do on any other day. well, one of my sisters called and she came to visit which was nice, actually. more attention than that is almost certainly too much though.
btw: not even my best friend congratulated me and that's ok. we both don't much care about that stuff. he might be a sigma as well.

I have been working at the same establishment for 11 years, and everyone else i work with makes a big production out of their birthdays, and everyone is forced to know everyone else's birthday. Except for me. I don't announce it or mention it or bring it up. My birthday is no one else's business except mine. And i don't care when anyone else's is. If i want to treat myself special, i can do that on ANY day. And if you don't want to be disturbed on your birthday, you do know your phone has a 'Power Off' button. I don't see the big deal, it's just another day to me-nothing special.

Oh number 6! Have a story about this...
Truthfully, I don't mind celebrating my birthdays. I like to at least take a few days off work around this time. 3 months ago a group of friends and I went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate mine. Nice little get-together or so I thought. However, after ordering dessert I noticed one of my friends get up and have a word with the waiters and waitresses by the kitchen entrance. Maybe sigma hyper-awareness! He arranged for a candle to be stuck into my cheesecake dessert and for the staff to sing “happy birthday“ to me.
A nice gesture perhaps but I bloody hated this. Most of the other restaurant diners` eyes were on me. My reaction was recorded on another friend`s mobile phone. I was grinning like a Cheshire cat and blushing but deep down I felt uncomfortable. Also hated the fact that the waiter and waitresses were temporarily taken away from their duties to do this on a busy Friday evening.

The only birthday day I remember was when I met my truest love, thus far. Was at a club and a gorgeous woman, a friend of a friend just grabbed my hand and forced me to dance with her. We then spent the next 7years together; with never a day without talking or seeing each other. She was French and I english, so the language barrier helped me to convince her that my family was simply celebrating our anniversary every year and that put the spotlight on her. It took her years before she found out when my birthday actually was. I never celebrated a birthday. 😅😂

I don't hate my birthday, but I don't get excited about it anymore. My birthday is January 2nd. Coincidentally, I think New Year's Eve is an overrated holiday.
What I really don't like is wedding receptions. I'm ready to leave after dinner, but I need a valid reason to leave. Then comes the time when the bride and groom "spontaneously" shove cake in each other's faces. Who could've seen that coming? The bouquet toss is fine, but then comes the garter throw? Couldn't we have come up with something better? Some guy always shouts, "USE YOUR TEETH!" with the groom laughs with a red face. Thankfully I've been able to slip out and no one seems to have noticed.

I too hated how I was always asked and pressured to do something for my birthday. The people I have grown to call family and friends finally understand. If anything is done, it’s usually just an invitation to an experience. Let’s go fishing, let’s go to the sand dunes, let’s play poker. The focus is not me, it’s about spending time together. No cakes, no gifts, just pleasant fun memories with the people i love and respect.

I feel like birthday events and such niceties are simply superficial routine phenomenon that mark a time lapse where one has survived another orbit around our sun. I feel like such routines and rituals should only be reserved for small children, as a means to make them feel loved and supported by friends and family.
Yes, maybe I feel this way because I'm bitter, but I'm less bitter about my parents never doing anything for my birthdays when I was young; I'm more bitter that such niceties were/are so common place for everyone else, even into their old age and that might make me feel obligated. Why should I do things for adults that were never done for me, even as a child? I don't want anyone's pity; I just don't want to feel obligated or guilt tripped into celebrating others in ways that I never was and never will be. The best birthday gift anyone can give me is a loyal friendship beyond just one day a year, without any regard to one specific day on a calendar or empty obligatory well wishes.

We don't hate birthdays, we just wanted to celebrate our birthday in a unique way other than a cake and candles which look very gay and childish. E.g, inviting friends to eat meal in a house or some other place etc
"Also I am very true to myself, Idk I am sigma or not, I never claim I was one however in our everybirthday, we know that each birthday mean you are one year closer to death which is why I am pray to God"
Sigmas are realistic, always respect people, and never talk behind the back of people. It is more of like a stoicism men, calm, never too emotion, and I realize myself that a lot of girl attract to me even if I don't showoff and act normal. Maybe hardworking pays off from gym"
Just sharing my experience, Thank you, God bless

I think it ludicrous a truly committed sigma would ever bother with cell phones, so much so that he's putting himself through the social torture described here, that you're under the sword if you don't respond quick enough, etc, etc, etc. I carry one, but only for when I want to dial out. It's off all other times, partly because I have a landline with screening messages as well. I couldn't care less what goes on with my cell, and I never give that number out to make it worse. Deal with me on landline, or not at all.

Most children never age in personality . Attend a child’s birthday watch the kids how they react , pay attention when the birthday kid gets a toy and the others don’t . This will continue to adulthood , it might seem innocent but it births greed in most unfortunately.
