I didn't change them at first. but after a year of riding in the cold and below 32ºF (which most people dont do) I realized that the bike runs super lean and doesn't like to start on a very cold day, lots of popping and gunshot backfiring at start. It runs very lean in the cold. 42 idle jets from factory are very lean anyway. Emissions required leaning all bikes out from factory so putting those pipes on made it even leaner. I dont recommend slipping them on without changing the jet. it is so easy to change the jet. but I do love the look and the sound. they can definitely hear you coming
