Dame knows exactly what he’s doing. He was trying to get a fool to buy it without disclosing the fact that Jay will eventually get it back. That’s why Jay checkmated him to force the disclosure during the auction.
I don't blame Jay at all. All the blood sweat and tears he put into that classic is worth it. That's his first born. He should own it. In his financial level, whatever amount it's worth, it's worth him owning.. Dame whole approach of this was to give an appearance that he wants no ties with him and their legacy. The only person who looks foolish is himself. Silent partner Biggs quietly still supports Jay. Biggs be throwing all kind of sublimials at Dame on his social media.

You're so right...I think he just wants all his masters. And him telling them to tell the buyer is a good move...means that they won't offer Dame top dollar because they know they won't have it for long. And yeah...what is the point if it's only 1/3. I'm missing that.

Here's the thing, Dame is a victim of this own ego. He is NOT a good businessman in any since. People confused him being successful in the music industry with him actually being good a business. The entertainment industry is an outlier where anyone can potential catch a wave that leads to millions of dollars in a short period. But long term traditional business is much hard to see success/ Dame got lucky and got with Jay Z a rare musical talent whose success allowed them to attract other talent at the time because Jay made the label hot so everyone naturally wanted to be on the hot label. Once he lost the connection with Jay he lost his magic ticket but because of his early success he believed it was due to his business skills and it was not and finally people have come to see Dame is not good at business. This sell off is the last thing from that period over 20 years ago that he has of any real value. I would say he share is probably worth 1.5 to 2.5 million. Dame will probably never see a dime of it because the shares are going to be auctioned of in New York and by Dames own admission he owes the state over 4 million in Taxes. I'm sure they will take anything that Dame thinks he is going to get. I will come back to this comment in 2 weeks to see if my predictions come true or not.
Super well written and accurate, Dame filled a lot of people that he is this amazing business man when in reality he’s a average New York hustler with a street mentality that has a nose for getting money meanwhile in real business those dinosaur tactics don’t work
Dame shouldve sold it back to Jay in the 1st place....at this point, he aint even gonna see any money. You see Biggs aint got no beef....they squashed it long ago. Plus Dame had the artists who stayed and Rocawear.....aint did nothing with either....😒
You don't know what you are talking about. It's better research and get it right than to be first . A judge has forced Dame to auction his third of reasonable doubt.
Reasonable doubt was done prior to the deal with Def Jam, so the other albums Def jam has ownership stake. For this one only Dame, Biggs and Jay-Z own the masters.

The reason Reasonable Doubt is their most valuable asset is because they own most of it. It was independent

Is this the story about the government forcing Dame to sell because he couldn't pay his lien? So the IRS is auctioning his 3rd starting at $1M.
