I love Iguazu's voice actor. He sounds like an angsty anime villain, and the fact that this almost laughable character became so awesome and is the true final boss just sent me when I played.
17:44 I actually like the dialogue in this fight lol… I like how desperate Walter sounds for you to win, and it makes you feel you are up against impossible odds. But yeah, I guess the opening dialogue can be a bit annoying after hearing it a bunch
It adds some intensity to it all, both Ayre and Walter are literally or figuratively on the edge if their seat as we fight this C weapon, i think it adds a lot to the fight and never felt annoying, and this is a boss that originally kicked my ass multiple times so i’d known from experience
I also had no problem with the dialogue; I felt like it made the boss scarier and more epic to hear the exposition as the fight commences. There was something really eerie about the boss and the place you fight it in and the concern and tension in Walter and Ayre's voice lines added to it imo.
You can hear the fear and suspense in both Ayre and Walter's voice, because they both, in their own ways, know how lethal Coral and Coral weapons are. Adds to the suspense of the fight.
Iguazu is such a great character because we all have had that friend who can never admit they are wrong no matter what, as though it would crush their very existence to admit they have a flaw. Shoutout to the English voice actor Griffin Burns.
I died in my first attempt at ALLMIND Iguazu, cause I was literally choking on my own laughter realising fucking Iguazu of all people is the penultimate final boss of ACVI.
It also had no passion or enthusiasm towards the game without actively stating his opinion. Though considering the state of the fan base it's obvious what his stance is
Balteus was the boss that made me fall in love with the game. Everything's perfect, love the music, the rain, the missiles, the difficulty, the techno music (too bad he feels 25% less intense now, at least I'll always have my 1.0 disc). 2nd favorite is Ibis or Cel 240, dodging the 2nd phase felt like a Souls boss, plus his design is just fucking cool. 3rd is Allmind followed closely by Ayre (I think I mainly prefer Allmind because it was a much harder fight for me). 5th on my first playthrough was Sea Spider, but its' lasers got nerfed a lot as well. I think I prefer Enforcer and Arquebus Balteus over it now (I got stuck for quite a while at Snail's Balteus on my first playthrough, that laser attack is S-tier). Overall, I loved the boss fights in the game, they were the highlight for me. Like Magicat, this was a game I never asked for but am happy it exists. The movement and flow of combat is just so good. I love firing my guns while assault boosting into a staggered opponent then using my left shoulder weapon bay to melee them. When I execute everything perfectly, I feel like I'm juggling every input, my energy level and various cooldowns. I also enjoyed how Fromsoftware approached ng+ and ng++ in AC6. I really hope that they continue to try unique things for ng+ cycles in future games.
Great list. I felt differently about some of them, mainly sea spider which I loved, but hearing others different perspectives and experiences is always so cool, and the explanations you gave made a lot of sense
I agree with the list, solid placing. I would add Raven AC mini boss to the list also. The one you fight at the spaceport. He is a fun and iconic AC that's relevant to your progress as well.
With the Sea Spider I've found that just hovering above it makes it very trivial. When it floats in the air, you can even land on it for a short while.
At balteus i had 2 regular machineguns and 2 of those railguns you get early on. Everything barely fit on my jumpy legs but it worked. Balteus seemed impossible to me at first with that loadout but suddenly out of nowhere those railguns were hitting like a freight train and i completely burned through his shield before he could even hit me. It's as if i found the secret build no one was using.
About the Enforcer: It destroyed me whenever I stayed at midrange. For me, getting in close and harassing it with shotguns and the laser blade was the way to go. Yes, its melee attacks are dangerous, but I found them relatively easy to dodge at close-range.
your list is my favorite so far, its basically exactly how I would rank them, except I would switch Ayre and ALLMIND/Iguazu. For me Ayre was far and away the hardest boss in the game but also my favorite. The music and the somber tone and the way she fights is exactly how you would expect her to somehow. But both are insanely awesome.

I loved this game, tried beating all bosses without healing which was hell, and also semi-successful. Managed to eventually find builds that worked on everything but the True ending final boss and Ayre. Did beat both without healing eventually, but had to use two stun needle launchers, which makes both bosses cakewalks. Those 2 bosses are so much more fun when you cant just instantly stagger them and take out 1/4 of their health bar. I cant wait for AC7 now, call me a armored core fan cause I definitely am going back to play some of the older titles now.
Man fighting Ibis for the first made me feel I was playing dark souls for real lol Also fighting Balteus early game when you barley had any parts was hard as hell but when you unlock stun needles he folds like the other bosses lol

Excellent list. I would also like to say, with regard to the #1 spot, the first phase isn't so bad if you just ignored the adds and focus on the boss. I hated that phase at first because I was focusing all the adds down first which took too long and wasn't fun, but it's much quicker and more enjoyable if you just evade the little guys' attacks and focus down the boss. That being said, I would personally swap the # 1 and # 2 spots on the list, but it's a fairly close call imo.
Saw a vtuber use a heavy build against allmind and just stand there unmoving trading blows and taking only 1k damage from all the melee stuff without getting staggered it looked horrible. I'm glad I used a light build since it was super fun.
Agreed most of the game I used a double lazer cannon and gun build shredded everything it was fun and still is fun but boy light builds are so fun especialy reverse joints
I love how Snail's tirade usually starts when he uses his laser super move. His rant with the lasers everywhere and the music going crazy puts the biggest smile on my face every time!
Didnt know fromsoft was capable of Big character moments like that. It was like the culmination of snails whole arc throughout the story. And him Raging out while doing the most ridiculous combo in the game was so hype

The way that the Arye fight starts makes sense, she doesn’t want to hurt you at first but the longer the fight goes on the more willing she is to kill you.

@FSVR54 people love smashing their head against a boss for hours in the name of "difficulty" these days. gone are the days of challenging yet fun bosses in fromsoft games, gone are the sekiro days. now its just insane visual clutter and huge aoes with terrible camera control and elden ring normies eat that shit right up because its what they are used to from elden ring and they have never played the souls franchise or sekiro and bloodborne. sad
I've spent many hours fully mastering Cel and I really like some of the others, however the first Baltheus is the best thing in the game. First. The very first. On the first playthrough of the game. When it starts to work out, a feeling of trance appears, when understanding, music and concentration merge into one great feeling of joy. That was the first time I realized that I could love this game.
I wasn’t aware that the Snail Balteus was considered bad. On my first playthrough, original Balteus stomped me for several tries. And having the opportunity to go back to an updated model while I too was also updated and refined felt like poetic justice. I adapted and learned the fight, and felt an extreme sense of vindication when I beat it in only a few tries. It truly felt like I had learned something
I know im late to the video but i have to say i agree with almost if not all of your placement of the bosses. I also have to say i still have issues with bosses in this game but i mainly struggle to find a build that works with me but great video.
Both are a joke with a tetrapod build. I'm surprised so many people had trouble with sea spider, in my playthrough it's one of the easiest bosses in the game, and I'm not that good lol
C-Spider, IBIS, and Snailtaeus were the only 3 bosses I really got stuck on. The build I used up to Spider simply didn't work against him at all, so I was struggling to learn a new build and the boss at the Sametime. IBIS was def the hardest boss for me, but also my favorite. It looks so cool. Its attacks are so cool. Everything about it is SO COOL!!!! but man, did it wash me for 2 hours straight, lol. I had been running a tank build for some time up to him. Swapped to a speed build because I just couldn't dodge everything. Snailteus, I just didn't enjoy. He felt like a slog more than anything. Most of his attacks are just weapons, and the few that aren't are still easily dodged Except for that Purple beam Dance This was the only move that killed me. Over. And over. And over. I died to that move a little over 30 times before I learned how to dodge it. After that he was cake walk ALLMIND Iguanez, for me, he just kinda...died? I beat him first try, he caught me off guard with a few of his attacks, but I killed both spiders without him ever touching me. Then phase 2 kicked in. Like, he almost killed me, but I didn't really struggle against him at all
Snailteus is one of those fights where your build has a tremendous impact on the experience. If you use only non-pulse energy weapons and you don’t have the right combination of EN capacity/efficiency/recharge/speed to keep up with him, you’re gonna have a miserable time. I used a heavy build with only energy weapons earlier after I had already S-ranked the mission and I just could not beat him. But then I swapped my generator, used the pulse blade instead of the laser lance, and swapped my laser drones for a laser shotgun, and I had a much better time. I even killed him first try
Those two shots you hit Allmiguazu with during his mech exploding was so hilariously well-timed that I actually choked a bit on my water. "I always envied you..." *Bang* "Shut up." "The freelancer who had it all...." *Bang* "I SAID SHUT UP."
I beat the enforcer with a missile build. Man that was fun but becareful he has move where he jumps and tries to stab you. Other than that it was just smooth sailing against him.
I did Balteus like 30 times before I beat it. At the time I felt that it was insane at tracking with its bazooka. I beat the True Ending Boss in one try and it wasn't even close. Maybe because I had a hard time with Ayre. Walter was easy and my favorite boss was Ibis.
A lot of moves I don't bother dodging, but instead make sure they are about to stagger at the start of the animation. With enough burst you can stagger at will as most of these major attacks start with huge openings. For Iguazu's sword swings, he's a little too aggressive for this, but you can just assault armor if you're not in great position to stagger him before he gets in, and then stagger and punish on his second swing. It seems like you don't take as much damage when activating assault armor, so it's really good at winning trades aggressively.
For any of those who struggle with the Sea Spider, I have a method for all of you that consistently works. So you take a speedy build that can go airborne. Alright, for the first phase you need to get all up in it's business, like right next to the legs close. You will need hard lock for this to work, but what you want to do is to circle the thing will staying close to it, this will allow you to dodge all of it's attacks while blasting it. During phase two, having an AC that can chill in the air is vital, as you can easily just hover right above the thing. Typing all this out made me realize how much I bully the Sea Spider.
Made me feel better about myself to know Balteus made other players their bitch too. I also heard C4 end boss was really hard before I got to him but didn’t know anything about the fight, and I found it pretty easy. Like you said, I think Balteus really requires you to have a good setup if you want to have an easier time whereas Ibis’s skillcheck is knowing not to move your right analog after hard locking, he just stuns easily and you have a generous punish window. I finished the game once with the liberator of rubicon ending so I skipped the bosses I didn’t fight yet, I’ll definitely revisit after my next 2 playthroughs.
You can use a pulse gun + double song birds and prepare for the moment it starts to use that move and break the shield, then you can combo a melee with a kick then double song birds again. I never learn to dodge that shit, if I don’t have that ready I pop my shield. His first phase is pretty tame and easy.
I also enjoyed Snail Balteus more than vanilla Balteus. After getting a few builds crushed by Super Snail, I tried his gift against him and found that the needle launcher melts his health.
When I heard people bitching about the so called "Helicopter Skill Check" in Armored Core Six, I thought they were talking about the Sea Spider to be honest, as I had no idea that people were identifying Balteus as a helicopter, nor that so many people were being curb stomped by the first boss of the game, though it only really took me two deaths to beat the Helicopter because I've played the previous titles, and thus playing this one felt really natural to me.
My top 4 are Ayre, Snailteus, CEL240, and Iguana. Iguana falls quite short compared to the other three because his first phase is just annoying while the others are good from start to finish.
My opinion, CEL 240 and ALLMIND are tied to be in #1 list because they're fun af, the intense fights, the aggression, the cinematic-looking epic battle, everything is chef kiss perfect. Ayre is #2 best, her attacks isn't that much overwhelming and the boss makes you to do the same dodging positions.
For the allmind fight I ran out of ammo on everything so I just had to punch him but then it stunlocked him and then I just kept on punching and he just died
I beat the Helicopter in 2 tries…. Never played and Armored ore game before….. it wasn’t until Balteus that I got to my first hurdle… finding out that the helicopter game people trouble…. Shocked me. I mean, I can understand if you are starting the mission over from the beginning, but you can’t take it on from the Checkpoint??
People forget to think. They stay in mid range to fight it, where it is way too strong. Flying under it or in front of the cockpit makes it a tutorial boss experience
I played through and uploaded the entirety of New Game with the starter AC! I agree with a lot of this list except I really liked Enforcer. Probably one of my favorite fights in the game. It's got basically all the tricks in the game; close range spamming with its pulse gun, long range dodge checks with the laser, aggressive melee, and a cool phase 2 with shockwaves. It's a boss that really lets you demonstrate full mastery of the combat system.
My computer can't handle this game during the boss fights so I basically have to use certain brute force strategies... I have parts that are 3 ish years old if not more and it really shows when they start launching all their projectiles. The frame rate dip is so sudden that it sometimes eats my attempts to command a dodge, or due to the frame rate dropping suddenly makes it look like an attack is coming way later than it should. Damn economy has it hovering just above my reach to upgrade.
Iguazu, while a hard fight, is simple to S rank when replaying the mission. Simple in concept. The first phase, kill the minions if they are on you too much. You may kill some naturally as you damage the boss anyways but if you deplete his health on to the next phase. Now, focus on the boss. At 50% health the other two flying drones disappear and it's just You and Iguazu. Finish the fight in a timely manner BOOM, easy S rank..... simple in concept. good luck
Those minions were so annoying! My own FCS was my greatest enemy by force locking into them instead of Iguazu. occasionally worth putting a shot into the sea spiders to stagger them.
now i feel kind of bad lol. I just kinda of "lmao wheelchair + double songbird + doublemachinegun'd" a lot of the late-game bosses so i never even noticed their moveset
The second phase of the allmind fight is the easy part cuz he gets stunned so easily. The first phase is the annoying part cuz of the other little dudes. They take 3 Zimmerman shots to take down but I will say I've found the turner plus a hu ben stuns them so fast and the hu ben just deletes their health But yah allmind is a pain
i personally think sea spider should be the first real boss instead of balteus,and balteus being the second real boss. sea spider took me 2 tries while balteus took me 3 days
Was Walter re-educated by arquebus? I always figured it was a backup plan AC since it’s in the ng+++ as well, and Walter shows up to make sure the ship crashes

The officer warrants gave me trouble I couldn’t I understand it. The fight ended up in the alley after I beat the two mechs they sent for back bug I still beat him . I think it was in the second chapter I got lost.
Makes me laugh when people complain about the tutorial boss being too hard and that poster saying you don't have enough boost to dodge everything... I completely forgot about boost dodges until 5 hours in and still beat the tutorial after 3 tries

I beat Sea Spider first try because I used a lightweight jumpy build. If you jump above it or fly around it will almost never hit you.

I love how Snail's tirade usually starts when he uses his laser super move. His rant with the lasers everywhere and the music going crazy puts the biggest smile on my face every time!
Didnt know fromsoft was capable of Big character moments like that. It was like the culmination of snails whole arc throughout the story. And him Raging out while doing the most ridiculous combo in the game was so hype
This game fucking rules! I enjoyed every boss and AC fight(Except the escort mission cuz fuck that). Even the fights that seem like unfair ganks are still really fun
The way that the Arye fight starts makes sense, she doesn’t want to hurt you at first but the longer the fight goes on the more willing she is to kill you.
you forgot to mention even allmind trashtalk iguazu at the end when youre about to kill him. when she says. “you were… a mistake … Iguazu”. she sounds so dissapointed and pissed at herself for choosing him
For me it wasn't much about learning the moveset but more about positioning and reaction. But i used an overaggressive playstyle, so that may be it.
The top 3 are just something else in this game tbh the quality gap between them and the rest is massive

@FSVR54 people love smashing their head against a boss for hours in the name of "difficulty" these days. gone are the days of challenging yet fun bosses in fromsoft games, gone are the sekiro days. now its just insane visual clutter and huge aoes with terrible camera control and elden ring normies eat that shit right up because its what they are used to from elden ring and they have never played the souls franchise or sekiro and bloodborne. sad
I've spent many hours fully mastering Cel and I really like some of the others, however the first Baltheus is the best thing in the game. First. The very first. On the first playthrough of the game. When it starts to work out, a feeling of trance appears, when understanding, music and concentration merge into one great feeling of joy. That was the first time I realized that I could love this game.
I wasn’t aware that the Snail Balteus was considered bad. On my first playthrough, original Balteus stomped me for several tries. And having the opportunity to go back to an updated model while I too was also updated and refined felt like poetic justice. I adapted and learned the fight, and felt an extreme sense of vindication when I beat it in only a few tries. It truly felt like I had learned something
Tester AC is up there with Soldier of God in terms of grueling difficulty. I spent 32 hours of my day trying to best him.

I know im late to the video but i have to say i agree with almost if not all of your placement of the bosses. I also have to say i still have issues with bosses in this game but i mainly struggle to find a build that works with me but great video.
Am i the only person who found sea spider an absolute joke and smart cleaner much much harder?
Both are a joke with a tetrapod build. I'm surprised so many people had trouble with sea spider, in my playthrough it's one of the easiest bosses in the game, and I'm not that good lol
C-Spider, IBIS, and Snailtaeus were the only 3 bosses I really got stuck on.
The build I used up to Spider simply didn't work against him at all, so I was struggling to learn a new build and the boss at the Sametime.
IBIS was def the hardest boss for me, but also my favorite. It looks so cool. Its attacks are so cool. Everything about it is SO COOL!!!! but man, did it wash me for 2 hours straight, lol. I had been running a tank build for some time up to him. Swapped to a speed build because I just couldn't dodge everything.
Snailteus, I just didn't enjoy. He felt like a slog more than anything. Most of his attacks are just weapons, and the few that aren't are still easily dodged Except for that Purple beam Dance
This was the only move that killed me. Over. And over. And over. I died to that move a little over 30 times before I learned how to dodge it. After that he was cake walk
ALLMIND Iguanez, for me, he just kinda...died? I beat him first try, he caught me off guard with a few of his attacks, but I killed both spiders without him ever touching me. Then phase 2 kicked in. Like, he almost killed me, but I didn't really struggle against him at all
Snailteus is one of those fights where your build has a tremendous impact on the experience. If you use only non-pulse energy weapons and you don’t have the right combination of EN capacity/efficiency/recharge/speed to keep up with him, you’re gonna have a miserable time. I used a heavy build with only energy weapons earlier after I had already S-ranked the mission and I just could not beat him. But then I swapped my generator, used the pulse blade instead of the laser lance, and swapped my laser drones for a laser shotgun, and I had a much better time. I even killed him first try
Those two shots you hit Allmiguazu with during his mech exploding was so hilariously well-timed that I actually choked a bit on my water.

I beat the enforcer with a missile build. Man that was fun but becareful he has move where he jumps and tries to stab you. Other than that it was just smooth sailing against him.

I did Balteus like 30 times before I beat it. At the time I felt that it was insane at tracking with its bazooka. I beat the True Ending Boss in one try and it wasn't even close. Maybe because I had a hard time with Ayre. Walter was easy and my favorite boss was Ibis.
A lot of moves I don't bother dodging, but instead make sure they are about to stagger at the start of the animation. With enough burst you can stagger at will as most of these major attacks start with huge openings.
For Iguazu's sword swings, he's a little too aggressive for this, but you can just assault armor if you're not in great position to stagger him before he gets in, and then stagger and punish on his second swing.
It seems like you don't take as much damage when activating assault armor, so it's really good at winning trades aggressively.

For any of those who struggle with the Sea Spider, I have a method for all of you that consistently works. So you take a speedy build that can go airborne. Alright, for the first phase you need to get all up in it's business, like right next to the legs close. You will need hard lock for this to work, but what you want to do is to circle the thing will staying close to it, this will allow you to dodge all of it's attacks while blasting it. During phase two, having an AC that can chill in the air is vital, as you can easily just hover right above the thing.
Typing all this out made me realize how much I bully the Sea Spider.
Made me feel better about myself to know Balteus made other players their bitch too. I also heard C4 end boss was really hard before I got to him but didn’t know anything about the fight, and I found it pretty easy. Like you said, I think Balteus really requires you to have a good setup if you want to have an easier time whereas Ibis’s skillcheck is knowing not to move your right analog after hard locking, he just stuns easily and you have a generous punish window.
I finished the game once with the liberator of rubicon ending so I skipped the bosses I didn’t fight yet, I’ll definitely revisit after my next 2 playthroughs.
How do you dodge Arquebus Balteus's desperation attack? I always had to use pulse armor for that move.

Delete it before it gets to that point
You can use a pulse gun + double song birds and prepare for the moment it starts to use that move and break the shield, then you can combo a melee with a kick then double song birds again. I never learn to dodge that shit, if I don’t have that ready I pop my shield. His first phase is pretty tame and easy.

I also enjoyed Snail Balteus more than vanilla Balteus. After getting a few builds crushed by Super Snail, I tried his gift against him and found that the needle launcher melts his health.
for me i would have to say the ibis fight is by far the hardest fight over the allmind
When I heard people bitching about the so called "Helicopter Skill Check" in Armored Core Six, I thought they were talking about the Sea Spider to be honest, as I had no idea that people were identifying Balteus as a helicopter, nor that so many people were being curb stomped by the first boss of the game, though it only really took me two deaths to beat the Helicopter because I've played the previous titles, and thus playing this one felt really natural to me.
They're not talking about Balteus, they're talking about the actual helicopter in the first mission. Somehow it got people stuck.
Imo G1 Michigan should get an honorable mention. No wonder he is called "hell on four legs".

My top 4 are Ayre, Snailteus, CEL240, and Iguana. Iguana falls quite short compared to the other three because his first phase is just annoying while the others are good from start to finish.
My opinion, CEL 240 and ALLMIND are tied to be in #1 list because they're fun af, the intense fights, the aggression, the cinematic-looking epic battle, everything is chef kiss perfect. Ayre is #2 best, her attacks isn't that much overwhelming and the boss makes you to do the same dodging positions.
For the allmind fight I ran out of ammo on everything so I just had to punch him but then it stunlocked him and then I just kept on punching and he just died
I beat the Helicopter in 2 tries…. Never played and Armored ore game before….. it wasn’t until Balteus that I got to my first hurdle… finding out that the helicopter game people trouble…. Shocked me. I mean, I can understand if you are starting the mission over from the beginning, but you can’t take it on from the Checkpoint??
People forget to think. They stay in mid range to fight it, where it is way too strong. Flying under it or in front of the cockpit makes it a tutorial boss experience
pro tip, you dont have to hear the same dialogue over and over if you simply don't die
I played through and uploaded the entirety of New Game with the starter AC! I agree with a lot of this list except I really liked Enforcer. Probably one of my favorite fights in the game. It's got basically all the tricks in the game; close range spamming with its pulse gun, long range dodge checks with the laser, aggressive melee, and a cool phase 2 with shockwaves. It's a boss that really lets you demonstrate full mastery of the combat system.
I guess to me the C-Spider was actually fun and easy to me
My computer can't handle this game during the boss fights so I basically have to use certain brute force strategies...
I have parts that are 3 ish years old if not more and it really shows when they start launching all their projectiles. The frame rate dip is so sudden that it sometimes eats my attempts to command a dodge, or due to the frame rate dropping suddenly makes it look like an attack is coming way later than it should.
Damn economy has it hovering just above my reach to upgrade.
Every boss in the game teaches you or reminds you of a different aspect of gameplay

Iguazu, while a hard fight, is simple to S rank when replaying the mission. Simple in concept. The first phase, kill the minions if they are on you too much. You may kill some naturally as you damage the boss anyways but if you deplete his health on to the next phase. Now, focus on the boss. At 50% health the other two flying drones disappear and it's just You and Iguazu. Finish the fight in a timely manner BOOM, easy S rank..... simple in concept. good luck
Those minions were so annoying! My own FCS was my greatest enemy by force locking into them instead of Iguazu. occasionally worth putting a shot into the sea spiders to stagger them.
now i feel kind of bad lol. I just kinda of "lmao wheelchair + double songbird + doublemachinegun'd" a lot of the late-game bosses so i never even noticed their moveset

The second phase of the allmind fight is the easy part cuz he gets stunned so easily. The first phase is the annoying part cuz of the other little dudes. They take 3 Zimmerman shots to take down but I will say I've found the turner plus a hu ben stuns them so fast and the hu ben just deletes their health
But yah allmind is a pain
i personally think sea spider should be the first real boss instead of balteus,and balteus being the second real boss. sea spider took me 2 tries while balteus took me 3 days

Yep, in both FoR & LoR ending.
But in FoR route Arquebus wasn't able to release him before the fire so we didn't get to see it

They should've just added the pulse guns breaking pulse shields to the training mode.
The officer warrants gave me trouble I couldn’t I understand it. The fight ended up in the alley after I beat the two mechs they sent for back bug I still beat him . I think it was in the second chapter I got lost.
