I've owned saltwater tanks for over 20 years, visit stores all the time, and only heard of these being sold once by a local petstore. The reality is their aren't that many people who own reef tanks, and a miniscule amount that are willing to keep an octopus. But, you know the narrative nowadays for most nature shows is the usual "mankind is destroying this animal, blah blah blah". The oceans are in bigger danger of losing their corals than they are an octopus.
How have I not seen this one before?? I LOVE cephalopods, especially octopuses! Anyway, I realize I'm 4 years late on this one, but thanks for the video!
@@genarosalazar2818 If "octopus" was a Latin word, then you'd be correct, but it's a word that originated from Greek (I think). Greek words are made plural by adding "s" or "es".
They’re so beautiful. I have wanted a dwarf octopus some day. I think they have a short lifespan as well. I’ve loved these creatures my whole life, but I need to learn more.
Blue-ringed octopuses (octopi?) are very interesting. They may be small but they're sooooooo deadly. If I see one in the wild, I'll just admire them from a distance.
Wish you had more subscribers. Really great work! Loved it. I mean, I don't love octopuses but the video quality. But, I do kinda love octopuses 'cause they're so cool. But, not as much as the video. So, there's that.
thank you so much I have an essay due at the end of Friday and it is Friday. and I couldn't find any good info on blue-ringed octopus except here so thank you
Hands up if you were not surprised that these can be found in Australia... luckily they only live in shallow water among rocks and crevices, so yeah, not where humans go swimming or snorkeling at all then...

I’m not surprised being that Australia has the most poisonous EVERYTHING.😂
@@HighwayRamos he's talking about the octopi
As an Aussie I can confirm that with a blue ringed octopus bite the only antidote is amputation. At the neck
Their beauty is breathtaking

"They will kill you, I'm more afraid of them than sharks!"

Kids at the playground: it’s always those silent ones that are crazy!
Fish in the sea: It’s always the bright blue ones that can kill ya!
Very good documentary. We live on the Australian coast and blue-ringed octopuses live in our local rock pools.
That would be cool to see!
I didn't know they were so small, I thought they were the size of cats.
We were both surprised to learn about their tiny stature, as well!

Excellent video! Thank you. Blue ring octopus are awesome.
Completely agree! Glad you enjoyed the video!
They only live in shallow water. Time comes in, octopuses piss off, tide goes out, back they come.
Gosh cephalopods are cute. I have a strict “no wild caught purchases” rule, although my daughter does have a pet garden snail I found.
That's a good rule!
Thank you for telling us that blue ringed octopus facts
