    Point of correction! Midwives deliver babies in America only that they deliver the low risk patients not high risks patients. I was born and raised in Uganda but rn I work in the labor and delivery unit as an RN so its very possible to be employed there.

    Hello Priscilla, God bless you for all the work you put into helping others! Your videos have helped so much in informing my decision as far as moving to the US goes. Please, as a midwife with a foreign education, after going through the process of evaluating, examination and registration,are we then considered certified nurse midwives? I ask this because when I look up how much midwives make in the US, all I can see is the salary of certified nurse midwives

    • @priscillakumahrn
      @priscillakumahrn  8 месяцев назад

    • @mirembedorothy3664
      @mirembedorothy3664 8 месяцев назад +1

      I hope to simplify this for you. If you aim to become a nurse-midwife in the USA, you need to go back to school. Obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), become a Registered Nurse (RN), and then apply to accredited schools offering master's programs in Nurse-Midwifery. After completing the program, you can become certified as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM). It's worth noting that there are other levels of midwives, such as Certified Midwife (CM) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), but CPM is phasing out, though still present at a minority level. Some states have completely phased them out. These are the distinctions she clearly explained in the video.

    Hello Priscilla, thank you for sharing your information.I went to school for 3 years for clinical nurse diploma, but I don’t have nursing license in back home. Know I am working as CNA in USA. Do I have to have nursing license to apply or qualified for CGFNS? Thank you so much

      They require your license but call the state board or CGFNS to explain your situation to them

      Hi dear, I may have an answer to your question if only you have your diploma in nursing from knust or wherever. You can use New York board of nursing. For them, It is not compulsory to have a license from your home country if only you completed your school, have your diploma certificate and can get your transcript from your school. Plus u don’t even need to use cgfns, the school will send those documents directly to them. I tried it and it worked. Hope it helps you too
