Oh thanks sis for this video,am a registered midwife here in Nigeria.
This is so educational. I'm a midwife from Cameroon. Bachelor's. I will definitely need your services
Point of correction! Midwives deliver babies in America only that they deliver the low risk patients not high risks patients. I was born and raised in Uganda but rn I work in the labor and delivery unit as an RN so its very possible to be employed there.
Please how can I contact you?
I need more information.
Even though this video was long. I totally love it. Thanks Priscilla and Ellen for sharing more insight on your processes and experiences. I would be contacting your consult for all the assistance.

Hello Priscilla, God bless you for all the work you put into helping others! Your videos have helped so much in informing my decision as far as moving to the US goes. Please, as a midwife with a foreign education, after going through the process of evaluating, examination and registration, are we then considered certified nurse midwives? I ask this because when I look up how much midwives make in the US, all I can see is the salary of certified nurse midwives
You will be an RN not a midwife, the route for USA midwives is different
Thank you for clarifying, while I have you, please, I have a BSc in Nursing and Midwifery, with this can I take the Nurse-Midwifery exam.
if not, would a masters in advanced midwifery qualify me for this process.
I hope to simplify this for you. If you aim to become a nurse-midwife in the USA, you need to go back to school. Obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), become a Registered Nurse (RN), and then apply to accredited schools offering master's programs in Nurse-Midwifery. After completing the program, you can become certified as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM). It's worth noting that there are other levels of midwives, such as Certified Midwife (CM) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), but CPM is phasing out, though still present at a minority level. Some states have completely phased them out. These are the distinctions she clearly explained in the video.

Can you share with me the link to the video detailing the states that accept midwives please?

Priscilla which agency should the midwife use for visa screening since CGFNS is the only agency that does visa screening
I have questions. Should you have to pay money to avant for the process?
No
What happens when you do BSc in midwifery in Ghana before applying
Hi, I'm a nurse from Nigeria, planning to come to USA through visiting visa to write my Nclex exam. How do I go about it
Dear midwives from Africa please stay in there! There is already a shortage of health care professionals there and so leaving will just make the situation worse
Please ma'am is this process also applicable to working in Canada......
Also, I hold Bachelors in Midwifery here in Ghana currently doing my national service and yet to have my pin and NMC certificate, I'd like to work there and would want to start the process involved.
Hi Ewura
I am really inspired by your journey! I'm currently a midwifery graduate from Ghana and I'm interested in exploring opportunities to work as a midwife in the USA and would love to hear more about your experiences and any advice you might have.
Could you please share an update on your journey since your comment? I'd appreciate any guidance or insights you can offer.
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you!
Hello Priscilla, you doing a good job and helping everyone. I called in NM they didn’t give me a good information. Do I have to change my drivers license and do I have to move in NM? This is on the application which one do I have to choose?
1. I am declaring STATE as my Primary State of Residence in compliance with the above Primary State of Residence definition.this mines need to have NM driver license, tax, etc.
2. I am declaring a Non-Compact State as my primary state/territory of residencv. My primary state of residence is a state not
participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
I know it is a lot of information

Hi from Nepal. I am from Nursing background and have bachelor degree of Midwifery in Nepal . Now can I work in usa as a midwife? or bachelor of midwifery from foreign country is not valid???
Hello Priscilla, I am trying to fill out the application for New Mexico. My primary residence is MN. Do I have to change my primary residence to the NM to take the exam. Which part of the application to declare New Mexico as their primary state of residence?
NM needs you to be a residence to be approved by them. So use NM address
Hey Priscilla. In the Uk midwives do a Bsc in Midwifery so we aren’t trained as nurses here. Since we don’t have a registered nurse background how do we work as an RN in the US? Is extra training provided?
I know, you can do pre Evaluation of your courses at a fee . ERES offers that

Hello dear, have u been able to go through the process?
Does this mean that the video u made about someone verifying her documents through eres is no longer valid? Does it mean a midwife can no longer verify her documents through eres and work as a midwife, must she go to school first?
ERES is what you should use as a midwife. They will not tell you it is not comparable at all. If you use CGFNS and you don’t use the right state that will accept your “rejected/ non comparable report” then you are stuck !!
@@priscillakumahrn i know about eres and the states that accept it but im asking, if u get approved after eres means u are going to work as a midwife and don't need to go back to school as the lady in the video?

You can buy that will be you cheating yourself with small salary wasting your RN license. No fears, they will train you well

Hi dear, I may have an answer to your question if only you have your diploma in nursing from knust or wherever. You can use New York board of nursing. For them, It is not compulsory to have a license from your home country if only you completed your school, have your diploma certificate and can get your transcript from your school. Plus u don’t even need to use cgfns, the school will send those documents directly to them. I tried it and it worked. Hope it helps you too
