I really enjoyed this Bertie. I love how it is more artistic than a lot of vlogs by other people. It really shows through then you also make films and that is a big part of who you are and you are sticking with it

when you said 'documentary-style' I kind of rolled my eyes like okay bertie calm down it's a vlog but i stand corrected because i guess it is kind of documentary style, it's not a sit down chat or even an artsy little thing it's like your thought processes over this period of time with different shots and voiceovers. i can see this becoming a kind of monthly or maybe every couple of months thing where you just catch up on what's been happening in this cool, creative way. anyway, if you couldn't already tell i love this a lot and feel very very inspired. merry christmas bertie! :)

I really enjoyed this!! I'm glad you're doing vlogs again as long as you don't stress too much about it and try too hard to please your audience. We love everything you make, no matter how big or small, long or short. I would give you consecutive criticism if I had it, but this was as perfect as could be in my opinion! I love how intimate it seems and that it kinda moves around a bit

when you said that thing about the backdrop of people I immediately thought about my best friend, and how her backdrop is usually her garden, her house, the stables we go to or my old house, but recently that's changed, sometimes when I think of her the backdrop is her in school with her new group of freinds... our year Is split into two forms, she's in one and I'm in the other and we don't share any classes. last year she went to a different school just for a year, she insisted that she had made no freinds but I've seen her phone and there's group chats with people from that school and some people are on her SC best freinds list. when we both started the a new school together in September we weren't as close as we had been when we were in primary together, and then being put in different forms forced us to make more new friends, at first we would still look for each other at break and hang out but now if I even want to talk to her I have to go find her group of freinds and tag along with them. they had a sleepover last night and it was all over their snapchats and she never even told me it was happening (we used to tell each other everything) and I've mentioned to her that I know lots of people but don't have many real freinds and I don't think that she's realised that she's the best freind I've got other than my cousin (that sounds so sad I do have freinds just not as close as her) and she probably doesn't even consider me her best friend anymore but she's my best freind......
sorry about that sad ramble I'm tired and haven't left the house in days because I was ill. oh well

i did not know what to expect after seeing your tweets about this video and to be quite honest i do not know what to expect for the future episodes of the series; however this is everything that i never knew that i wanted from you and i am genuinely obsessed with it all. i have followed you for several years now and i remember that quite large transition from silly vlogs to actual short films and i feel that though these short films are representative of you, i've always wondered on about how you've actually been doing. from the moody lighting, the witty jokes, and film review, i can tell that you are still "you" and these episodes are gonna be that connection between your audience and themselves outside of your shorts. i cannot wait for the next, but until then i am gonna rewatch this one a few more times. good job bertie.

This sort of mini docu-series deal you have going is really excellent. I think it's wise to still be telling a structured story of sorts with your videos so as to improve as a film-maker, but they're still personal and unique to you which is even more worth it.
thanks so much! yeah, structure was something i was definitely quite concerned with. i never wanted to have these be monthly or weekly etc, but just kinda vibe when certain themes are present in my life and then structure the vlog to that. glad you liked it!

HELL YES!!! If anybody can make vlogs in a fresh different way and add a bit of quality and new ideas to a field of vloggers on here trying to be like everyone else and coming out with the same style YOU MY SIR are the man to do just that . With your background in cinematography and film making you have the potential to make outstanding content I mean you just did that already in the first fucken episode ??? It's amazing how you're able to create content like this that everyone knows to be done one way aka the same old style of vlogging and provide a film like quality to each episode. I mean genuinely if feels im about to watch a documentary series . not just somebody documenting their life but someone who's genuinely documenting ABOUT their life and providing context to every field from their child hood to present day experiences etc.. while providing funny dorky bits or comments instead of being so serious. if that makes any sense . I don't know it's just amazing and I enjoyed these 17/18 minutes more then any vlog I've seen can't wait to see more !!!!!
